It’s the Appreciate the Moments Photo Challenge for April. Remember this challenge is the first Friday of the month throughout 2018. The word for April is “spring”. Living in Minnesota, I see spring in a couple of ways.
With the snowstorm we had this week, current record low temperatures, and more snow on the way, spring to me means snow. Not the fun snow, the wet, sticky stuff that melts fast, and is super messy. The photo I chose for this version of “spring” is a combination of “spring” in Minnesota, and a “spring” in my step while racing through the deep stuff.
The second photo I chose is the version of spring most people have in their minds. Well, at least the tulips are, maybe not the snow surround part! The only way to see tulips pop out of the ground in Minnesota right now is if you have them in a pot. These are pretty, and will have to do for a few weeks until things warm up around here. Tulips, for most, are a sign of “spring”.
How’s spring at your house? Cold and snowy, or toasty warm? Boy am I thankful I didn’t get into the nose work trial this weekend. My sisters are both in, and will be freezing their furry behinds off on their trial days. I’ll be home enjoying the warmth and quiet once again! My next trial is the end of the month when it really should be warmer!
I’m joining the #appreciatethemoments blog hop hosted by The Everyday Dog Mom today.
I’m also joining in the Flower Friday blog hop hosted by Living Laughing Barking In Our Backyard
we love the spring photo… pups and tulips in the center and da ole boring snow in da background, yep!
It’s our spring and we have to deal with it.

Still cold and snowy outside the Hutch…sigh… I need to find me a bowl of tulips! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Tulips do bring a lot of cheer into the house.
Great post Emma! We haven’t gotten spring yet … lots of gray and cold and threats of snow… crazy. We love you “springing” through the snow! Great word play! have a good day, your doodle friend Dash
Today is super cold with nasty winds…single digits with windchills. Hopefully spring, the good kind will appear in a week or so for all of us.
I’m so discouraged by our lack of any kind of spring weather around here, I just couldn’t come up with a photo! Yours are great, and I love your take on it….very creative!
I hope to come up with something over the weekend, and we may join in on Monday.
Enjoy your quiet and warm weekend at home, Emma, leave the cold to the young ones!
It’s hard to get an idea when the brain has a spring “preset” in place. Take a walk with Luke, maybe something will pop into your mind.
Although I definitely don’t miss the Midwestern weather, tulips are my favorite flower of all time! I think Mother Nature is confused π
We do love it, even this cold snap is fun in a way. Summer is our least favorite time of year since no one at our house likes heat. The cold right now is a bit extreme, though.
OMCs old man winter and Mother Nature are not playing nice with you all. This has been a winter that won’t go away even here in the south minus snow but just unseasonally cold and damp. Today is pretty and 70 but tomorrow starts of 60 then drops drastically to mid 40’s by dark. Crazy pants for sure.
The tulips are lovely
Hugs madi your friend from the South
We can get snow until early May around here, one never knows. At least we enjoy winter at our house.
We think your tulips look really pretty surrounded by all the white snow. We hope the tems warm up(just a little) and Spring visits you soon!
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
Tulips are cheery, and we are thankful they didn’t die after being set outside for a photo! It will warm up and turn more springy in a couple weeks I’m sure.
it is still snowing here too, do you believe it! Love your photos!
Madison may be doing part of her nose work trial in snow on Sunday. Crazy!
I cannot believe all of the snow that y’all are still getting! Our swimming pools are open here! LOL!
Pools are open here too, but for ice skating, LOL!
Yikes you still have snow!!!!! It’s spring, we like the tulips much better.
More snow coming here on Sunday…spring will arrive in a couple weeks.
I keep forgetting about his photo challenge! Every month I intend to participate!
We haven’t had the snow (like any since February!) but not much sign of spring either. Lots of brown not much green yet.
I think it is open for a week if you still want to join.
Those were both great and you look so pretty with your flowers!
Thank you. Two totally different takes on spring.
What is this Spring of which you speak? Wait till it starts and brings the pollen tsunami!
Aside from that awful green coating on things, we don’t mind the pollen around here.
Our spring is cold and we have off and on snow dustings. We can have the real spring any day now. Pretty tulips!
This is the second coldest spring on record. It’s finally going to warm up and rain for a few days this week.
We have been alternating between nice days and cold days. Here in the northeast this is typical weather…for February!
We had snow yesterday, but this Saturday, it’s supposed to hit 70. We shall see. I did notice a neighbor has some crocus’ popping their little heads up.
We are headed for a winter storm warning starting Friday night, but it will be 50 tomorrow. Crazy stuff!
Wow that is cold!We have finally more like Spring weather now which means trips to the beach for me!xx Speedy
We are getting another snowstorm tomorrow night. Just not a warm April this year.
