I’m a driving dog. Driving is something I love and need to do, but do I have a license? Does your dog have a driver’s license? If not, use my code at the end of this post to get one ordered, asap!
My GBGV Life received the My Pet DMV License in this post to review. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about My Pet DMV products or the company. The opinions in this review are the honest opinion of My GBGV Life. My Pet DMV is not responsible for the contents of this post.
Way back in 2013, I got my first driver’s license from My Pet DMV. I was so excited, and started to drive right away. Since that time I’ve been driving, never thinking twice about it until a recent bad encounter!
Did you know a driver’s license has an expiration date? I had no idea I was technically driving without a license. When I ran a red light because of seeing a squirrel on the other side of an intersection last month, a police officer saw it happen, and pulled me over. To my surprise, I was in deep trouble because my license had expired four years ago! In Minnesota, driving without a license is a misdemeanor, with up to a $1000 fine and/or ninety days in the kennel. I was shaking in my furs!
Being quick to think on my paws, I let the officer know about my K9 Nose Work career, patterned after K9 dogs police people use. After chatting for a while, he let me off with a warning if I promised to get a new license. He drove me home, and I immediately went to My Pet DMV to get a new driver’s license. It is a very quick, inexpensive, and easy process.
My mom took my
mugshot driver’s license photo, and I filled out the application form all online. After paying my fees, I pawed the send button, and my license was in the works! It took about a week for it to arrive in my mailbox.
Doesn’t my new license look great? I checked it over and the information is all correct. It’s also wonderful to see there is no expiration date this time. No more worries being a driving dog, driving illegally!
My license is the same size as my mom’s license and fits perfectly in the license spot in my wallet!
If carrying around a wallet is too cumbersome for your dog, along with the actual license, they send three license tags. The tags come with rings to put on your key chain, or to attach to your collar, doubling as an ID tag. Super clever, isn’t it?
Since I don’t want any of my driving dog friends to end up in the police station kennel, I’ve got a deal for you! Head over to My Pet DMV and order your driver’s license. When checking out, put in my code GBGV for 20% off your order! Trust me! It’s much cheaper than the fine for a dog driving without a license!
I love this idea Emma.
It’s quite important if your dog drives.
It would trust your driving as long as you didn’t head towards the Vet place!
I can honestly say, I’ve never driven to, nor will I ever drive to that vet place!
I bet you just charmed that policeman!
I had him in my paws in no time, thank dog!
Now we want to start driving! Great post Emma. My sister and I are going to hound (haha! get it!!) our mom to get us a license and a car. Glad you only got a warning from the police officer! have a great day. your doodle friend Dash
You can share the car with your mom, that is what I do, but make sure you have that license!
Emma, you have outdone yourself!!! WOW!!! a whole new meaning to a dog license!
It sure is an important meaning!
We need to get our Texas license! Mom and Dad got theirs and we don’t want to get into any trouble with the law! BOL!
You better apply asap…they always say, “don’t mess with Texas”.
That is very cool!
Thank you. It is important if your dog is driving.
That was some quick thinking to get out of trouble, Emma, good job!!
I was lucky to not land in the police kennel, that’s for sure!
Whew, that sure was a close one! We hope you didn’t have to pay a big fine or anything!

I was super lucky I didn’t get in any trouble as long as I got my new license right away.
I like that it doubles as an ID tag!
Of course, then, you have to put your correct info on it.
That is great but hoowdo you reach the pedals?
I’ve got all the controls on the steering wheel.
Cody and I have had driver’s licenses for YEARS!!!!! Dad pulls ours out to make people laugh. Loved your review!
Better make sure they have not expired if you guys are driving.
