Have you heard of the new AKC Achiever Dog program? My sisters, have been waiting for mail from the AKC with their RATN Titles they earned back in March. Last week, they were shocked when four large envelopes showed up instead of two! The extra two envelopes were from the Achiever Dog program.
Bailie was proud to get her RATN Title finally. She got her first of three legs back in June 2018, so it took her almost two years to finally get the title. Bailie is now Ethos Irish Cream CGC TD RATN. The AKC does not recognize NACSW Nose Work Titles or she would have many more!
Madison had a much easier road to her RATN Title. She tried Barn Hunt for the first time last June, and got her first leg. Within nine months she earned her title. Madison is our little Ethos Intel Inside CGC TD RATN.
The question is, what are these Achiever Dog Certificates they got in the mail? It turns out, this is a new AKC program to recognize dogs who participate in a variety of sports. It is not a title, but a certificate. The program started on December 1, 2017, and will run for one year. To qualify, you must title in three of the approved sports, one of those titles must be earned after December 1, 2017. AKC will evaluate the program after the first year to decide if it will continue or not. My sisters have big sports aspirations, so I think it is the perfect certificate for both of them. Has anyone else out there earned an Achiever Dog Award?
Wow! That’s awesome Emma. Your sisters ARE achievers! They do so much that it is awesome the AKC is recognizing that. and, their pictures are so cute. Those faces!! Have a great day, your doodle friend Dash
We were all like, what the heck is this. Something fun and new to add to our walls of fame! Have a great week!
No one can compete with you two!
I think if I had started in sports as a puppy, I would be more like them, but I didn’t start any sport until I was 7 1/2. Still, I have my nose work and I just love it.
Congratulations on the titles! Both of my girls earned their Achiever Dog certificates as well.
That is great! We haven’t heard from any others until now that had gotten the certificates.
you and your sisters are great in all things you do… and I like this program… I wish our kennel club had more options too apart from hunting, agilty and showing…
Congratulations Madison and Bailie!! What wonderful accomplishments…now, what will the next year bring?
xoxo,
Arty, Jakey & Rosy
Hopefully more nose work and barn hunt titles. Maybe tracking and agility too. We shall see.
Congratulations Bailie and Madison!! We’re all very proud of you! And we’re proud of you, too, Emma! Certificate or no, in our eyes and heart you deserve an Achiever Dog Certificate, too!!
I’m fine with sticking to my nose work and blogging empire. At my age, I don’t need all rat race components the wild ones do.
That is awesome gals! I love getting titles in the mail!
It’s even better when you get something you were not expecting and you have to look it up online to find out what it means!
That’s really most wonderful, congrats you sweeties, we’re proud of you!
My sisters are quite proud of themselves too.
What a nice surprise to get those extra certificates. Great job by your sisters!!
They did well, and it is fun to get a surprise like that.
Congratulations! I’m sure y’all will qualify for the Achiever’s Award! β₯
I won’t, but my sisters will. They are much more into multiple sports.
Wowzeer!!! neat award you girls got! Well deserved if I do say so myself, and , as a 10 and 1/2 year old Therapy dog, I do
Chablis
It was a fun surprise to get in the mail. Earning something you didn’t even know existed is a nice treat.
Congrats!
Thank you.
