We are all super happy eating real food for real dogs. Why should we eat fillers, by-products, preservatives, basically fake foods, when good, healthy, holistic foods are available?
My GBGV Life received the Haloยฎ Pet Food, and Treats in this post to review. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about Halo products or the company. The opinions in this review are the honest opinion of My GBGV Life. Halo is not responsible for the contents of this post.
Back in April at BlogPaws we met with the folks from Halo to learn about their products. We received a lot of food to try out, so the past couple months, we have been doing just that. Mom had been looking for a healthier food of us all, and we found it with Halo!
Halo is made with whole meat, and they use only meat and fish that are raised humanely, no food farms in their food! We dogs can sure taste the difference! Most kibble foods have meat meal and other fillers, but not Halo! My sisters and I can smell the difference before we even taste the food.
When the food snob digs right in, you know the food has got to be good! She never would go near any food or treats with fish, but now her favorite meal is the Surf and Turf, and she will do anything for the Salmon Liv-A-Little treats! It is truly amazing what a difference real ingredients can make!
Bailie, Madison, and I tried the Vegan Recipe, Senior Recipe, Grain Free, and Regular foods. All of them are amazingly tasty!
Reading about the food from the bag, it says Halo is made with whole meat, poultry, or fish, non GMO vegetables, and to provide nutritional balance vitamins and minerals are added. Because of the real ingredients, the food has superior digestibility, which means the dog’s body uses more of the protein in the food. They also add DreamCoatยฎ to the dry dog food recipes for smooth skin, and shiny coats! Real food for real dogs means happier, healthier dogs!
Despite loving the food, we are all in love with the Liv-A-Littles treats! They are available in chicken or salmon, with salmon being the big winner at our house!
The only problem we have is cat bro Bert heard the treats for for cats and dogs. We try to keep them all for us dogs, but he can be a creative cat burglar!
Last but not least, Bailie has some news to share about her experience with Halo. It’s rather embarrassing, but for a couple years now, she has had anal gland issues. As you can imagine it is a smelly problem. Since starting on a diet of Halo food, the problem has completely disappeared! Bailie is thrilled, and the rest of us around her are too! Mom is happy and relieved. Real food for real dogs is the only way to eat!
That sounds wonderful and we’re so glad more and more healthier foods are hitting the market!
It is a good thing!
that is a wonderful pawsome food… bravo to the peeps of halo who use meat and not this by-stuff and other things …and with salmon you are always well prepared for all reasons and seasons
That salmon is amazing!
I’m going to check with Shadow’s vet to see if I can try to switch her over, at least partly, to the kibble.
We love it, and it seems to be good for pretty much all dogs. Even dogs with food allergies often go to the vegan meals for a while and then transition to meat varieties.
Thanks for the information Emma. Mom is always thinking about our bellies so this is great to read about. Great post! your doodle friend Dash
My mom is the same way, and she is happy she found Halo.
We have enjoyed Halo’s treats and are so happy that you found a food you all enjoy.
It works well for us, is tasty, and healthy. A winner all around.
Hum…gotta look into this, us guys tend to get smelly back there.
It works for Bailie. We’ve tried all sort of things and this is the first time we didn’t even think about it, but one day Mom realized the problem was gone!
I’ve always fed my dogs Halo.. Duncan loves the taste. He sniffed it the first time I put it down and ate. Now he doesn’t waste time on sniffing and just digs right in. I also love that Halo donates so much to help the shelters. I play the Freekibble trivia game every day and Halo gives 10 pieces of kibble whether you know the answer or not. freekibble.com Try it it’s fun and you learn about dogs and cats.
We hadn’t met anyone who was eating Halo, it is new to us, but we totally love the products and the company.
We are so glad you’ve found a food that’s working out for all of you! That’s not an easy feat to accomplish with multiple pets. I was going to say multiple dogs, but then remembered Bert got in on the action too. ๐
The cats have been on their food forever, but we dogs keep looking for something better and are quite happy with what we have now.
You gal
You gals have it made with that yummy food.
It’s very tasty and healthy too!
We just finished the Salmon and Whitefish…unfortunately Arty’s allergies acted up on it sooooo, we’re going to try the Lamb next! We LOVE the taste of HALO and Mama loves the wholesome ingredients!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Poor Arty. Mom has a soft spot for those with allergies as she grew up being sick all the time with dust, pollen, smoke, mold, grass, pretty much all allergies but food. Thankfully none of us have allergies. Good luck with the lamb.
