Who wants to see some pretty flowers in the forest with me today? Last weekend I got to visit my Gramma. It was super hot and humid, but Mom and I took a walk anyway and saw some pretty flowers around the neighborhood. Hopefully the friendly flowers will lessen any Friday the 13th fears you might have!
Of course, Mom and I have no idea what kind of flowers most of them are, but for is that is not important. We just enjoy their beauty. Some were super different like this one. We’ve never seen a flower like this one before.
These beauties we have seen before, but they are so pretty, we had to take a snap of them.
Purple bells are just starting to open up. They will be real pretty this weekend I bet!
I think these are some kind of lily. Isn’t the deep color gorgeous?
Bailie, Purple Girl, must have dropped seeds in Sherwood Forest, because there were a lot of purple flowers around.
I saved our very favorite flower find for last! Isn’t it a beauty! Mom would love to have a plant with lots of these on the deck or front porch!
That was it for me. Half an hour in the heat and humidity to find flowers in the forest almost killed me! You know it is real hilly around Gramma’s house too! Hope you enjoyed the flowers we found.
Happy Flower Friday! If you have some flowers, or a flower like topic, join my friends at LLB in the Backyard for the Flower Friday Blog Hop.
So pretty! That second flower is really unusual, and beautiful.
That is what we thought too.
I think that’s our fave, tbh!
So pretty! Thank you Emma. Just this morning mom made my sister and me stop and smell some really pretty flowers we saw on our walk. We don’t know the names either but when they are so pretty you have to stop and admire them. You saw some real beauties! Have a great day Emma! your doodle friend Dash
We stop to look at and smell many flowers not just roses. Have a great weekend.
Very pretty, Emma! I love that last flower, too.
Mom says it looks a bit like our wild furs only in deep pink.
I’ve never seen those white ones before either, aren’t they pretty! That last one looks like bee balm. I love that too, we have some around our yard. The hummingbirds also love it!
Since Mom isn’t much into gardening, we just admire and only worry about the name if we want to buy one for ourselves. Lots of pretty colors out there right now.
Emma,
Oh my goodness do we ever so much appreciate the effort in this heat too. You and MOm found gorgeous posies and we especially like the RED
hugs madi your bfff
That short walk in the heat and humidity really wore me out, but I have time to nap, so it is alright.
Those flowers are lovely and the red ones are very special. We have some beautiful purple ones in our neighborhood entrance. I love them β₯
Maybe that is a sign Bailie needs to come and visit you for some huggles…our purple girl.
We always love seeing those lily flowers when we travel in your neck of the forest…Mama has been known to pull over on the side of the road to take pictures of them!!
Gramma’s forest sure have tons of pretty flowers, thanks for showing them to us Emma!

Right now lilies are on every corner. Most are yellow, but sometimes we find other pretty colors.
We recently heard lilies are sorta poinsonous for doggies too. We knew they were toxic for cats, but didn’t know it was for dogs. Had you heard anything about that?
BTW, we changed our vote. We agree with you – that last flower is STUNNING!
We never try to eat flowers of any kind, so Mom hasn’t looked into it. The cats do like to eat flowers, so we have to be careful what gets brought into the house.
WOW, you sure found some gorgeous ones!
Thank you. It’s fun seeing pretty flowers on our walks these days.
You found some lovely flowers, we will be glad when it is cooler and we can start walking again.
Walking in the summer is not a lot of fun. We like winter.
Beautiful garden! I love the orange and yellow one and red ones!
They are all pretty. We love vibrant colors.
So beautiful!! We hope you got a nice nap after your flower adventure π
xoxo,
Matt & Matilda
First Gramma gave me a cookie, and then I had a nice nap.
I enjoy the bright flowers but rarely know what they are.
Yeah, the heat and humidity is sucking the life out of us too.
It really stinks. No fun at all.
