We just got the still photos from Madison’s nose work trial at ATI Field in Joliet, Illinois the other day. There were not a lot of photos, but we selected some of the fun ones for you. The photos in this post were purchased by My GBGV Life for personal use from Shawn Rossmann Photography.
If you remember, the weather was in the upper 90’s, full sun, and high humidity. You know what that means – Madison let her super long tongue hang out! Containers was the first search, directly followed by vehicles. This was Mom and Madison at the start for vehicles.
Because Madison doesn’t usually do too well sniffing up the vehicles, Mom made her go around them so they would not miss the odor. Madison wasn’t working in this photo, and we know this because dogs can’t pant and work at the same time.
The rack on the back of the third vehicle caught Madison’s attention, and she got right down to work.
Alert was called. Yes, was called, and the celebration for passing vehicles began.
In the afternoon, they did interiors, and the last search of the day was exteriors. Madison found the basic area of the odor fairly quickly, but at level one, the dog needs to be on source. This photo of Madison’s nose underneath the cart is a cute angle.
Mom was sure it was on this cart thing somewhere, but she didn’t know where exactly to call the alert as Madison was all over the cart.
Eventually, Madison decided to tell Mom where she thought it was. Alert was called, and yes was responded.
After completing four searches, and passing each of them, Madison and Team Pink earned the NW1 title. It was a fun day, and Madison is looking forward to doing more nose work trials in the future.

Thank you. It is actually Madison in the photos, but we agree she is cute.
She is so smart and cute!
She got beauty and brains!
She is a good little worker. Look at her go.
She works very hard, just like me! You can tell, her dad is my half brother.
wow congrats team pink! and the black riccon and pink is THE pawfect match!
Thank you. Team pink is very pleased.
if the weather is as ugly where you are, as it is where I am, I can’t imagine working in it. Madison is a good girl and I think she will have a stellar career, in whatever sport she participates in.
It is seriously nasty, and even Mom wasn’t happy about working in it, but Madison didn’t mind at all.
Those were terrific photos and we did love the one with that sweet nose under the cart!
We thought they were some nice ones.
Wahoo!!! Go Team Pink! We think you should get extra points for working in extreme heat!

It would be nice to get a bonus or something, but it is not going to happen. Weather is another part of the challenges.
Great photos and we are so proud of Team Pink! Woo Hoo!!
She is one sporty little one!
Great photos and it looks like fun!
It was hot, but they still had a wonderful day!
Congrats, Madison. You and your mom ROCK!!!!
They are getting to be a better team in their sports all the time.
Congratulations!! You are the best!
Thank you.
Madison is a star! Good job and great photos!
She is a pretty big star at our house right now. Hopefully she continues to shine for years to come.
She is so dog gone cute! I love how each of your dogs have their own styles and preferences for searching.
They are all alike, yet so very different!
