#MeatlessMonday? Are you kidding me? This was my initial response. There is no way I could imagine my life without meat, I thought, but then I found a way!
I’ll be honest with you, a bowl of veggies is not something that interests me. It is pretty, but I’m no wabbit! At our house, we are true carnivores, even my mom. It is safe to say, none of us will ever be 100% vegan, but how about one day a week? #MeatlessMonday might be something we could manage.

You know we are huge Halo fans at our house. Every Halo product we have tried, we have loved, even the Garden of Vegan line. Mom never would have thought we would touch anything vegan. Because the vegan food is so tasty, we wouldn’t mind giving up meat just one day a week, Mondays, of course. Halo is offering the “Halo Veg Pledge” movement to get dogs started.
The Point Of Meatless Monday
I’m sure you are wondering, “What is the point of giving up meat on Mondays?” Well, I will tell you.
- Even dogs have a carbon pawprint! Did you know, plant-based proteins generate less greenhouse gas than meat-based ones.
- Reduce your dog’s carbon pawprint by eating vegan just one day a week. If dogs would give up meat one day a week it would be the same as taking almost 1 million cars off the road for a year! That is pretty incredible!
- A vegan diet benefits your dog by providing increased energy, hydrated skin and a healthier looking furs.
How is Halo helping with your dog having a proper diet on #MeatlessMonday?
- Of course, the Garden of Vegan recipe is tasty! I’m picky, and love it, so does our family food snob, Madison!
- All of your dog’s dietary needs are met with the Garden of Vegan Recipe.
- No need to worry about treats, Halo has you covered with their vegan recipe treats, which we all find yummy.
- Monday is only one day a week.
The Halo Veg Pledge
I know I can survive forever on a vegan diet, because I tried it for a few weeks. Just one day is a piece of cake! The Halo Garden of Vegan line is just a wholesome and tasty as their regular foods. My sisters and I all dig right in, and enjoy ore vegan food.
Don’t be afraid to take the #HaloVegPledge. I did it myself, and have no regrets. My sisters will be taking it too. When you sign up, you will also get a link to download some coupons to get you started purchasing your first vegan foods. What do you think? Will your dog take the pledge?
You sure look happy about that Monday meal!
It’s very yummy stuff!
Merlin loves his vegies. He especially loves carrots and broccoli stalks, but not leafy green salad type stuff. I’m with you though i definitely cannot live without meat.
For one day with a tasty alternative, we can survive ๐ Not sure about my mom, though.
we just had dried sweet pawtatoes… that means we are totally up to date yay!
Oh my. I don’t like sweet potato, but my sisters will eat them. Most dogs like them.
No, not in this house. Extremely sensitive tummies call for strict diet adherence, with very limited additions.
That is alright. Every dog is different. We switch up food and treat proteins all the time, but our tummies are made of cast iron according to my mom.
These guys like carrots, and lettuce. They no doubt would find this delicious.
I had a piece of lettuce once, and it was a nightmare. Stuck to my tongue and I wanted to get rid of it, LOL! I’m sure your two would love the vegan food and treats.
We love our veggies and regularly eat carrots for a snack. Of course, we do love our meat too. This is an interesting idea on the Meatless Monday. We might give it a try.
Something to do as a family for health and the environment. Katie loved veggies, especially carrots. I won’t even put one in my mouth unless it is in something…my mom doesn’t like them as stand alone either! Good luck giving it a try!
Luke and I both love our veggies, especially this time of year when we’re getting fresh ones from our garden. We could totally do meatless Mondays, even though we do love our meat too. We probably couldn’t talk my hubby into it though! LOL
My mom is the hard one as they don’t make Halo for humans! She is not a big veggie fan at all. She wishes she enjoyed them more, but she is more into fruit.
We also love our Halo, but we are partial to our lambs and to our Salmon treats. But maybe Mama would give us extra meat on Tuesday if we did this ….hmmmm, we might have to give meatless Monday a try!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey and Arty
The vegan recipe is plenty tasty. We also enjoy all the products with meat they offer.
We donโt like vegetables at all. Mom tries to get us to try and we say no no no! Makes her so frustrated. We are picky I guess!! Hey Emma how is the weather in your parts? All ok. Mom said there was a report of bad weather in your state on the news. Hope all is well. Your doodle friend dash
We don’t like veggies either, but we love the vegan food from Halo. Mom is totally shocked by that! We had a lot of wind and over an inch of rain in about half an hour, but no damage. It was right at the time to go to agility. Mom started out, but had to turn around after a few miles because she couldn’t see to drive, and the roads were flooded over. At 20 mph, they would have been really late too, so that was a bummer.
better safe than sorry! But a bummer to miss class.
It would never fly in my house, they love their meats too much. I myself do meatless on Mondays, and I’d like to reduce my carbon footprint, but I think studies show that most carnivores need some kind of meat.
Mom can’t believe we love the vegan food. One day a week works for us, but Mom has a hard time. She is the biggest carnivore of all! Everyone has to do what works best for them.
My Gang is s meat crew. Enjoy your veggies.
We are too, but this veggie food is really good.
