We are all thankful here that our yearly vet visit is behind us. Once a year, my sisters and I, plus cat bro Bert and kitty sis Sophie all go together to the vet for annual physicals. It is a big undertaking, but it is nice to have everyone on the same schedule. My sisters and I go in for a quick visit in the spring too, but that is much easier than the big family tune up!
Mom plans the visit a month or more ahead of time as we need a big block of time for all of us to be checked over. When she made the appointment, she didn’t know it was take your cat to the vet day. I was asked if I would take Sophie to the vet, and I said sure. It was a rotten trick because I didn’t realize the whole family would be going. Sophie and I were first because we are both scared of the vet.
Mom totally forgot the take photos of me getting my exam because she was so busy asking all the questions she wrote down on her list. Sophie was not happy at all. As it turns out, she is the only one with any issues. I guess one of her teeth may need to come out, but it doesn’t have to happen right away. Both Sophie and I are at good weights, and all our tests came back good. Mom is always worried about me now that I am older, but my senior panel was all good.
My sisters and Bert went in together. Those three always enjoy it at the vet. Bert is mad when he has to leave! What a weirdo! Bert, no surprise, is a bit on the chubby side. The rest of the family is just right. Our vet oohed and aahed at our shiny chompers. She was also impressed with how nicely our nails were trimmed/dremeled. Even the cats have nicely trimmed front claws. My sisters and I all have great teeth too, which is super important.
The vet we have been seeing for years is no longer at this clinic, so we had a new vet. She hasn’t checked us out before. Bailie and Madison put her at ease with all their usual snuggling, and demanding of attention.
Bert also amazed our new vet with his dog-like behavior. As always, he was cruisin’ the counter for food, and he preferred the dog treats over the cat treats. Aside from being a bit fat, he is all good.
A good bill of health is always important, and even more so as a girl ages. We are super thankful we are well cared for, and we are in good health. Make sure your pets get a yearly vet visit, and if possible a second visit, as a year is a long time for a pet!

We’re sure happy everyone check out okay, that’s always something special! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It’s important to always get regular check ups.
Hooray for good check ups! Mom worries about us too since we are now both called senior dogs. We are doing okay — except my sister has to have some surgery on her ladyparts as mom keeps saying. The surgery is later in September and should help with some problems my sister ha shad. The surgery should be really straightforward, but mom still cried at the vet the other day when she heard all about what it entails. Poor Mom, Poor Lilly. but great news for you guys! have a good day, your doodle friend Dash
Surgery is never a good thing. Hopefully it will help Lilly with whatever issues she has. Mom always cries if she has to leave any of us for surgery. Hugs to you all and we have our paws crossed everything goes well.
Glad you had a good vet visit. That is always a relief. You all have a good day today too.
It is, especially since I am almost twelve now.
oh how pawsome that you got good news! Bert, is that true? really? I’m a freak at the vet and because the mama had the glorious idea to go with both of us da Nelly is a freak now too because he is my clone at the mischief front.
Bert has always been too fat, but he steals food all the time and is unbearable if he doesn’t have enough food, so we just let him be chunky. We all behave nicely at the vet, but I shake because I am scared.
Katie has weekly visits to our vet because of her ears. I am paying for her sons college. Glad all is well with the puppies and cats.
How awful to go every week. I’m happy my ear situation cleared up with the homemade ear cleaner. I had to go in a lot for infections my first few years. Poor Katie.
That’s all great news. Must be nice to get everyone done all together like that.
It makes it easier to keep track of, and then the hassle of it all is done in a couple hours.
We humans try so hard to give you guys the very best. It’s so rewarding when all our hard efforts come to fruition. I’m sure Mom breathed a big sigh of relief!
Mom still thinks something is off with me, but she doesn’t know what. I’m just getting older. She has to accept that. All the tests show I am fine.
Mom knows. Trust your gut, Joy.
Your Mom impresses me every year when she takes you all at the same time! I’m so glad there were only a couple small issues, that is especially good with some seniors in your family. Your Mom takes very good care of you all!
We are happy to be healthy. Bert just has extra padding, but he did have even more a few years ago, and Sophie will need a tooth pulled at some point. Not a big deal.
Glad you got good reports ! My limit is two cats or one cat and the beagle at a time. Keep up the good health !
Mom is over her limit for one person taking pets to the vet, but she does it to make the other 364 days a year easier.
WOW that is what we call a family affair! Two at a time is enough for this house! Great checkup girls ( and Bert)
This has been going on for probably 20 years. It works well for us.
Three cheers for good check ups.
Thank you. We are happy.
Mommy would never take all of us on the same day, it would drive her CRAZY. We are lucky the vet is only about 5 minutes from our house and on the way to town, so Mommy pops in a lot just to talk to them cause her and the vet and staff are friends.
In Germany our vet was one of mom’s best friends. We stopped in all the time, but here it is different.
We can’t believe your Mama tricked you like that Emma! We are happy to hear everyone is doing well!!
xoxo,
Rosy
It is shameful, but I fell for it which I shouldn’t have.
Your Mom’s stamina amazes me every time I read about your yearly vet visits! I honestly don’t know how she does it. But I admire her for it. I used to take Callie and Shadow together all the time. They were easy…they loved everybody and everybody loved them. The vet (and long-time staff members) misses Callie. He always remarks about what a good patient she was. Shadow is too, but without her sister there for moral support, she does get a bit more nervous than she used to.
I’m glad you’re all healthy, with only minor issues like Sophie’s tooth and Bert’s weight. Your Mom does a great job!
It’s just easier to have a few hours of stress and be done for a year. Sophie and I are nervous, the rest of the family loves going to the vet. Now we are done until March, the kitties for a year.
Hereβs to another healthy year!
We certainly hope so.
