How will we hounds celebrate Labor Day Weekend this year? My sisters and I are all the same breed, all girls, and some of us have some shared close family. Despite all that, we can also be very, very different. I started the weekend visiting Gramma. It was super hot and humid, but Mom and I still took a walk around the block in the afternoon.
The weather has not been ideal this weekend, aside from the heat and humidity, the first part of Sunday was rainy, and today they forecast rain and storms later. Bailie, the lazy sister, has taken this weekend to catch up on her rest. She has been enjoying sleeping late every morning.
Madison is up at the clank of dawn as always, but she isn’t fond of the weather either. Most of her weekend she has spent lounging in the living room, binge watching the Cartoon Network, and munching on treats. According to her, Bugs Bunny is the best cartoon to watch.
Other than going to Gramma’s house on Saturday, I’ve been helping out around the house. Mom is trying to take it easy, so I’ve been handling the food situation. Grilling is always easy and tasty!

Bailie is sometimes underfoot when she supervises in the kitchen, but otherwise, we are pretty good about supervising but not getting in the way. Enjoy your Labor Day.

Ducky has been in hyper mode this whole weekend, so we’re spending as much time in the yard today as possible – before it gets too hot and humid – to get some of that energy worked off. Shadow, the dog daddy, and I are worn out just watching her! She’s acting like she got into some catnip, maybe a whole plant’s worth!
Wowzers! I wonder what set her into motion? I walked 2 hours with Mom this morning on one of my favorite walks. Now I’m exhausted, so I will be napping for quite a while.

We were supposed to get a lot of rain, but have only gotten lots of light showers. It is cooling off, which we do love.

We are trying to celebrate Labor Day by not laboring! So far we’re doing pretty well. It’s too darn hot to do anything anyway! We are ready for fall now!
It’s a pretty mellow weekend with the rain on and off, humidity, thankfully, since Saturday, not too much heat.

We are having a rainy day too. We are all being super lazy but loving to snuggle in front of the tv. Bugs Bunny is pawsome!

That was probably it for chilling until Thanksgiving, but we take it when we can get it.
The weekend was plenty hot & humid for me without a furcoat. I can’t imagine living through a summer as a dog or anything else that generally walks on four legs. 🙂 It’s rough enough being of the human pawsuasion. That being said, we took it easy over the long holiday weekend trying to keep out of the uncomfortable end of summer elements. Thanks for dropping by for a visit. The best part about the three day weekend, is the four day work week! Whoo Hoo we are already 1/2 way to the weekend. 🙂
This is usually a slow work week too because everyone is busy with back to school stuff.
I love when dogs are lazy and sleep in.
Bailie is real good at that. Madison sometimes refused to get out of bed in the morning too.
