Lei Yixin from China, created this piece of art my sisters found on their Phalen Park nose work class field trip this week. They thought it would make a great photo with them sitting next to it.
The creation is called “Meditation”, and was carved out of limestone in an international stone-carving exhibition in 2006. She gives off a lot of peace and beauty. Despite being carved out of rock, she looks so soft and welcoming. Lei Yixin is from Changsha, China, a Saint Paul Sister City.
Wow! Mom loves that statue. How beautiful! Great photo Emma! How does it feel to be 12 years old plus a day? Your doodle friend Dash.
I was full of energy this morning, but then needed a good nap after my walk. I feel about the same as two days ago, I guess.
That is such a peaceful looking statue, and you two doggies look terrific sitting next to it. You all have a wonderful day.
A little bit of culture for the wild ones!
it has something good in her face and yes, it looks warm and not as cold as stone… much different than the famous girl from bonaventure cemetery who looks super evil…
or, excuse me, but the mean and ugly Mona Lisa.
WOW! I would never guess that statue was carved from stone! She’s beautiful!
It is pretty neat looking. The guy has some real talent.
The pups made that piece even better. Cute.
Have a woof woof Wordless Wednesday. My best to your peeps. β₯
They added the fur to the flowing hair out of stone π
That is a beautiful sculpture, and your sisters were right – it makes for a great photo!
It is something totally different, but nice.
That is such a cool statue! Weβd love yβall to join our Pet Parade this week…maybe with your birthday party post. We need more dogs β€οΈ
We have never really understood what the Pet Parade is, so we never join. Would you email us to let us know what it is about, then we can join.
I love the photography. What a fun blog (although we are now a cat family).
Thank you.
There are no rules about needing a dog to enjoy our blog π Thank you for stopping by!
That’s a beautiful aculptire. And you accent it very well.
Everything in life is better with fur, right?
Art that we can climb on is the absolute best!
Great for photos!
What a pawsome pic!
Thank you. My sisters were getting some culture.
What a cool photo!
It’s an interesting find in a big park.
It looks like they chose a peaceful place, for a peaceful statue. I wonder what that statue would look like if she saw Bailie in ‘go dog’ mode? π
LOL! Probably not so relaxed.
