Today I wanted to show you all some of our October sports events photos. Lots of our sports events have not had photographers, which is a bummer because we love seeing photos from our events. My last agility weekend had a photographer one of the days, and she took a couple photos of me, like this one of me going over a jump.
This tunnel photo of me really made my mom laugh. I went running into the tunnel, but just when I should have raced out, I stopped to shake my furs back into place. Emma always told me it is not just how you do your sport, it is how you look while doing it. She had reminded me of that the morning I went to that trial. I will miss her advise, as she was a wise hound.
Believe me, I wish I had more and better agility photos of myself, but I’ll take what I can get. This one makes it look like I can barely make it over the bar. Having several agility trials under my furry belt, I’m starting to get the hang of it, enjoy it more, and pick up my pace.
Bailie and I did our first AKC Scent Work trial in October. I only did interior searches, so there were no photos taken due to the small room sizes, but Bails did buried hides and containers, both of which had photos taken. Buried hides are new for us. They are hides placed in boxes filled with sand, and the hide is buried in the sand in one of the containers. Thank you to Caprise and Wyatt for the photos.
The first search, Bailie struggled because she didn’t seem to really know what was going on. She didn’t want to sniff the boxes, and she did not pass her first search. Mom says Bailie probably did know where the hide was from her tongue in this shot, but she never shared that knowledge.
One of her four searches, she stopped to do some air scenting, the only problem was that she needed to be sniffing the boxes behind her. Personally, knowing my sister as I do, I think she caught a whiff of squirrel.
She did pass three of her four searches, earning her Buried Hide title that weekend. This is a photo of one of her alerts.
The world calls me the family food snob, but I would say Bailie is a canine garbage can. We are total opposites when it comes to food. She eats anything, any time, and is so focused on food. Look at her trying to get more treats out of Mom’s pouch. Shameless!
In AKC Scent Work, the judge gives you a qualifying ribbon for each search you pass. Three passes is a title in that element. Bailie was so thankful for her two qualifying ribbons, she tried to give the judge a kiss! My silly sister, Bailie!

we love the tunnel pic… that’s the look of a champion!!!
It was hilarious in person according to my mom!
Congratulations, Bailie! Don’t worry – give it more time and you will nail it!
She got three of four which is all she needed, but it is weird to search buried hides.
Those are such great photos. I would love to photograph an agility trial. Looks fun.
Mom wishes she could afford to take a photographer with us to trials since they rarely have a one. Are you free this weekend? If you were in the area, we’d get you a job.
Fabulous pictures
Thank you.
Those were such fun photos and we really liked that tunnel one too!!!
Bailie and I love to do our sports. Even if we don’t do well, we have fun.
OMD! Those photos are absolutely priceless! And that one of you at the end of the tunnel had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. ?
I was just making sure I looked decent before I continued my run. Mom says it wasted too much time, but it made everyone laugh, and that is not a bad thing.
good to see you girls
We are here, just busy beavers trying to keep up our sports, figure out how to blog on our own, and take care of Mom because she gets so sad sometimes.
Silly girls! Kissing the judge, checking your furs, sniffing for squirrels you make trials so much fun. Emma does whisper in your furry ears! XOXO, Sparkle
you girls are so wonderful, i am sure Emma is looking down on you saying i taught them well and i am so proud of you carrying on in such great fashion.
She has been with us nudging us along in many ways, but it is not the same as having her here in the furs.
Congrats on your ribbons!! Baby steps sure and steady.
Angel Madi(son) D Cat had a tunnel too Madison but being a cat she sashayed thru it on her own terms.
Hugs Cecilia
Our kitties had a tunnel, but it was before my time. Bailie told me she used to fit in it herself, and drag it around the house.
Awesome post Madison!!!! You girls are busy!!
Eleven weekends of dog sports. Weekend eleven is this weekend. It has been a lot of fun, but we are ready for a break.
What great pictures today Madison, even if you didn’t have a professional photographer! We think that tunnel pic is our most favorite too!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Tunnels are fun, but they can really mess with a girl’s furs.
Those are some really great photos!
For our local sniffing events, we have some amazing photographers.
Y’all have so much fun at your sporting events! Great photos. β₯
My mom says, once you start with dog sports it gets addictive. We all love it, and it is so much fun doing things together.
Both of you girls look like you are having so much fun! We especially love your agility action shots, Madison.
I know. It’s a bummer there are not photographers at most agility trials.
Great photos! The tunnel photo made me laugh π
That photo is funny, but I guess in person it was even better since the whole crowd was laughing.
