We got our first real snow of the season over the weekend. This year so far we have lucked out with lots of cold weather, and small snow events of about an inch since mid October. Finally we have some substantial snow to play around in!
After our morning walk, I went flying down the stairs, and leapt right off into the snow! I couldn’t wait to really race around in the white stuff.
Bailie was already outside, and she headed back towards me as soon as she saw I was ready to get the wild pants on! It’s impossible to hide our love of winter and snow!
The chase games started up. As usual, I was the one being chased, but I don’t mind. Sometimes it is more fun than being the chaser.
Bailie seems to be in top form for snow racing. I think, really hope, she never has any hip muscle issues again! The summer without playing was tough. Her furs are still growing back from the shaving.
There was a lot of back and forth, here and there, running around, sometimes just one of us. I may be short, but I can be speedy if I want to be.
Once and a while, I get my sassy pants back on. Someone has to tell Bailie a thing or two. I think she forgets I’m a lot smaller than she is. All the snowballs on my furs create a lot of drag too. Bailie gets snowballs, but not as many.
Within a few moments I was ready to attack the snowy yard once again…full speed ahead.
Occasional wrestling makes for a good break from running in the deep stuff. Somehow, Bailie really had the upper paw that day!
The good thing is, I never have to worry. Bailie would never hurt me, it is all just for fun and playtime.
And…in no time flat, we are back running around in the first real snow of the season!
Weโre thankful for winter with lots of cold and snow, so weโre joining our friends at Brianโs Blog for their Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Visit some other blogs to see what they are thankful for.
I am sooooooooooo jealous! Can I please come to your house and join in on all of that snow fun?!
We would love to have a big snow dog party. What a fun idea!
That snow romp was just magical you two and you sure were zippin’ around the yard! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We came in and crashed for a long time after that. So much fun.
What a fun time you guys have. So lucky to have each other to play like that.
It is wonderful to have a bff, sister, and playmate all in one!
I love seeing dogs being dogs. What wonderful pictures. So much fun!
We get to be dogs a lot. My mom thinks it is important for us.
Love the Pictures!
Thank you. We had a blast.
oooh snow much fun!!! and you are like super fast snowmobiles with 4pd! we thing we got snow too, but on the way to us it melted and became rain…. aaaawful ;O)
Rain is really no fun except for splashing in puddles, but Mom frowns on that. There are lots of snowmobiles in our area, but we don’t know what to do with them.
Oh! You lucky girls!! We are sooo jealous! Down here we usually get freezing rain and sleet instead of snow…NO fun at all! Can we come up there to play with you?
We could invite everyone to our yard for a good romp, followed by snacks and a nap.
I think I remember playing in that white stuff when I was under 2 months old in Minneesnowta! I had so much FUN! You both are so pawsome and photogenic. How long did it take to get the snowballs out of your furs? XOXO, Sparkle
Bailie’s furs don’t get as many snowballs, so she is clear fast. It takes me like half an hour to defrost. Wet snow is a problem, the drier snow is easier because it doesn’t stick to me.
Some great actions shots here. Your mom knows her way around her camera or phone. You two are having a great time.
Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. โฅ
Emma trained my mom for years with the camera. She now has a really nice full frame, and shoots in manual mode. The phone is only for times when the good camera isn’t with us. Mom loves to take photos, and we love to model.
fun times and you got some great action shots!
Lots of fun ๐
I’m so glad you got some serious snow to play in, you girls look like you are having so much fun!! Wow, you really get the snowballs though, don’t you? We haven’t seen that since we had our goldens, and they got some serious ones too! ๐
We hope your snow lasts. We got a warm up with some rain and it kind of ruined all our nice snow. Hopefully we’ll get more soon.
It was that early winter wet snow, and it makes the snowball mess. I can still run like crazy even covered in snowballs.
The looks on your faces say it all!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
We are diving right into the winter and loving it!
Yay! You girls look SO happy!!!! Your mom did an amazing job of photographing you as you leaped above the snow. I am thankful for snow too!
She love to get action shots of us in the snow. They are so much more fun that just on the plain old grass.
so fun!!!
Snow is the best!
We are glad that y’all have snow! Please keep it up there because Mom hates cold weather. LOL!
What a bummer for you boys. We will gladly keep it up here. Feel free to visit if you need some snow and cold.
Love your snow-bound romps!
We have a blast running around in the white stuff and Mom loves to get photos of us and the snow flying.
You guys look like you are having a blast. Sampson and Delilah were never much for playing in the snow. When Sampson was younger, he was always happy to just sit outside. In the snow. Silly dog. They did initiate a little play in the house last night, and we stopped what we were doing to watch and enjoy them. It happens so infrequently now.
We had a big snow back in November, but since then, nothing. Lots of cold though. I’m hoping for snow soon. Meanwhile I can enjoy the pictures of you two playing in it.
Our snow is almost gone too, but we are not getting new stuff in the near future. Sad really.
