Happy Chinese New Year 2019! Looks to me like it is going to be the Year of the Pig Bacon, and who doesn’t get excited about bacon? The tastiness of the situation may even inspire me to learn how to cook…at least bacon.
Seriously, 2019 is the Year of the Pig. Make it your year, grab your inner piglet by the squiggle tail, and make it what you want! I like pigs because they like to get into all kinds of food, and they don’t seem to mind getting all dirty either. Mom sometimes calls me Miss Piggy because I get so excited about food! Once and I while, I even make snorting piggy noises!
Who doesn’t love the story of the three little pigs? I think the world loves pigs. Did you know Chinese culture sees piggys as a sign of wealth? I sure wish we had more than three of these money makers! The Chinese also say their big ears and chubby faces are signs of fortune too. Well, I think Madison and I would win any ear contest with pigs, but for some reason, we haven’t found the fortune thing yet. Maybe because our faces are not chubby enough? No one at our house was born in one of the pig years, but we can still celebrate, right? Bailie is actually the year of the snake, gives Mom the creeps, and I am the year of the monkey! Mom is the year of the dragon, hmmm, she never even breathes any fire.
I guess I will start flaunting my long floppys in the hope of coming across a fortune. One would think a scent hound like myself should be able to smell fortune if I get close. Does anyone know what fortune smells like? Maybe it will smell like bacon this year, and I can definitely find bacon! Happy Chinese New Year to all, including the pigs out there!

Awww this is just too cute! Well…I love piggies for breakfast. I like the smell of bacon but I don’t eat it very often. There’s just not a lot of meat there. I prefer sausage or ham for breakfast and for dinner BBQ pork sounds good to me. I’m hoping for good things this year, too. We’ll see if the year of the pig pays off for us! You should clue in your dogs so they can help sniff it out. We are getting on it right away. The sooner we find fortune the better.

Until you wrote this, I didn’t realize this coming lunar year will be the Year of the Pig. It seems fitting. I recently met my first boat pig. Really!
The captain bought the boat for $100 and the pig for $200. I have no idea how he’s going to manage getting a pig on and off a tiny boat when it weighs 200 pounds! But I guess it’s his year.
Oh my heavens! Why would anyone want to try to have a pig on a boat? I wonder if it will end up with the pig being sold? All the best to the boaters with pets including pigs in finding fortune on the high seas!
I am really looking forward to the year of Bacon…I mean the Pig. We get bacon every day right??

We would love a daily dose of bacon, but Mom says bacon isn’t good for us, so our bacon tasting is very limited.

We have a lot of toys, but most just sit there. Mom threw out a lot of them that were old or broken but we still have a pile.
