Inspiration: No filter is the challenge for #DogwoodWeek6. The rules are: No limit on what you shoot this week, as long as the image is pure. There are no filters, presets or other edits allowed. Basic exposure corrections only this week. This kind of thing makes it much easier to get the right shot, as long as Mom has her camera settings right.
Since Mom’s favorite subject is dogs, and we all love winter, it was pretty obvious she would choose some kind of winter shot with at least one of us in it. Watching us play is one of her favorite things to do. This is the first shot she contemplated using for the final photo. The flying snow, ears up, forward motion, are all things we like about this one, but it isn’t quite right.
We ended up choosing this photo. There is something about the motion in this one that we like. Even the collar tags are swinging. All the white from the snow almost makes it hard to tell it is snow and not a backdrop. If we could edit, we would add more color to our furs, but no filter, no edit, so we are going as is. What do you think, do you like the photo?

Yes, we love it! The action is wonderful and the white backdrop of the snow is perfect. I think the simplicity of the colors makes you focus more on the action. Fun shot!

Great action shot! Our granddogs are experiencing snow in Washington state for the first time. They have over a foot and are LOVING it!
It is so much fun. We have about 20″ in the past week, and are expecting another 6-8 by tomorrow afternoon. Yay!
