It’s Fat Tuesday, let the good times roll. Mardi Gras is now in full swing. New Orleans seems to be the best place to be if you want to celebrate Mardi Gras. We have not been there, but my mom has been there and tells us it is pretty wild and crazy!
Mardi Gras colors are purple, gold, and green. People often wear masks and head pieces in these colors during the celebrations. Luckily, we happen to have our own fancy masks to wear. Bailie is pretty happy about this feathered version. We also have a lot of beads we can wear to accessorize our looks.
I’m trying on this headpiece with the feathers. The beads are tough for me to wear properly because they are too long but also are too short to wrap around my neck twice. My mind was really on the Mardi Gras treats.
For our Fat Tuesday party treats, we are going to eat some Pupcakes from SmallcakesPupcakes from Smallcakes. Mom bought some human cupcakes there recently and the owner sent us home with a few Pupcakes as a bonus. They may not be the right color, but I am pretty sure they are super yummy! The main thing for our party is to have tasty treats.
Bailie and I decorated our party table with a pretty gold glitter tablecloth, fine china, and some beads and garland. Doesn’t it look pretty. We donned our matching masks and beads when we sat at our table.
I approach new foods with care, but we all know, Bailie is not shy and will dig right in. Bailie wasted no time in shoveling the entire carrot cake Pupcake into her mouth. No manners at all, but I hear anything goes on Fat Tuesday, so go for it, sis!
Being more reserved than Bailie, I start out by gently licking my Pupcake. It does seem to taste really good.
I decided to go ahead and eat my entire Pupcake. Being the family food snob, that is saying a lot about these snacks. It sure tasted good! I would say the Pupcakes really made our Fat Tuesday celebration a success. Bailie hoped I would not want mine, but she was out of luck.
In the end, Bailie’s look really tells it all about our party! Doesn’t she look like the cat who just ate a canary? Happy Mardi Gras! Celebrate, have fun, and stay safe!
Your pictures made me smile – and some made me laugh out loud! Especially you, Madison, with your mask and beads almost to the ground. Bailie was funny with that whole pupcake in her mouth. I am sending my mom to the grocery store to get me some fat Tuesday goodies. XOXO, Sparkle
A girl needs to take every possible party opportunity! Have fun with your goodies!
What a bright and festive look you guys have. So fun!
Thank you. It is a good excuse for a fancy party!
Laissez les bon temps roulez!!!!! Let the good times roll! Happy Mardi Gras girls! your friend Lilly
You know Bailie…she always lets the good times roll! Hope you and your brother get some celebration time in today too!
I love that you guys are also teadu for a party! You look great.
Bailie never misses a party opportunity, and I’m happy to party along with her.
You girls really know how to party in style! We think you – especially wild and crazy Bailie – would fit right in at Mardi Gras!
Bailie would have a blast at Mardi Gras. I would probably trip over my beads and get stepped on, LOL! I’ll let Bailie go on her own I think.
you have the best paw for super fabulous pawties!!! can we hire you for our birthdays?
Emma always said, “Go big or go home”, so we go big!
Love Bailie with the whole cupcake in her mouth!
She loves food and doesn’t mind being a bit of a piggy π
I would have swallowed that yummy cupcake whole too, BailieβΊ Your table looks so beautiful and so do the two of you! Mom’s brother’s family live near New Orleans and they will be watching parades and having fun all day today!
I hear it is a huge thing down there. Up here, we are too frozen to be outside doing wild things.
Love your pictures! We are drooling over those pupcakes.
They are very tasty. I could not imagine eating like a lady, but Madison always eats that way.
Enjoy those Fat Tuesday treats! That last photo of Bailie was sure the smile maker of the day!
Bailie is a happy and goofy girl.
Wagnificent!
We should have Fat Tuesday every week!
3 bum swings! 3 more!
Pawtacular pics my furiends.
Iβm like you Madison & Q is more like Bailie when it comes to dining even when itβs a pawtyπ
Enjoyπ₯³

Bailie is not shy with food. She has no problem gulping it all down and then tries to steal my food.
You girls sure know how to have fun!
We always enjoy a good excuse for a party.
you girls sure know how to set a party table. looks like Bailie really loved her pupcakes. who did the cooking?
i hope Bailie did not choke on hers with that one big bite. you were the lady eating so daintily. i live Bailie in the feathers. i have never been New Orleans either but my mom went several times and loved it. she liked to watch people.
We didn’t actually do any baking. Mom got the cupcakes when she got some human ones at a local cupcake place. They are super tasty. I think Bailie would enjoy the New Orleans wildness. I will stay home because I think it would be too wild for me.
How fun. You need to link this post to Happy Tuesday. It’s a most happy post.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your mom. β₯
True. We are definitely happy π
It is weird to be away from all the Mardi Gras hoopla this year. Louisiana does Mardi Gras in most of the big cities. Here in Texas, Galveston has a big parade but nothing here in Houston. Of course, we aren’t far from New Orleans if we really wanted to party! LOL! Y’all look great!
When Mom lived in Southern Germany, Carnival was huge, but in the rest of the country, it was pretty much nothing. I think it is a regional and religious dependent thing.
You gals sure know how to do Mardi Gras in style!! Those pupcakes look delish!!!
xoxo,
Jakey, Arty & Rosy
What a happy Mardi Gras celebration for you! Yes, NOLA is crazy, if you want a quieter and saner but still fun celebration, i recommend one of the smaller towns in south Louisiana for celebrating. Thatβs especially true if you have children, you do not want to be in downtown New Orleans, you want to be someplace family friendly.
Mom was in New Orleans a couple times years ago on layovers during Mardi Gras and said it was totally wild, not a good place for dogs. I think we should stay here and just celebrate on our own.
Looks like a pawsome pawty! Happy Mardi Gras!
You all had a fun party too, I think.
WOW! How delightful you ladies look!!! Quite a table you set! Chablis is jealous I wouldn’t
let him bead up this year
We had a nice little party. Bailie’s part was fast since she shoveled in her cupcake.
What a fun Mardi Gras party!
And tasty too!
