Unfortunately, spring cleaning the dog happened at our house yesterday. Mom was saying I needed a bath before my trials this weekend, but Bailie was totally shocked when she ended up in the tub too! Neither of us was a happy camper. Normally we go to the spa, but Mom says with the weather it is a waste of money right now.
Lucky me, I got to get cleaned up first. Mom says I am the dirtiest birdie, whatever that means! I gathered my towel, toys, shampoo, and hopped into the water torture chamber. Looking at my photo, I can see I was quite a mess. Everything was good until the water came on, then I wanted to leave.
We use Reliq Mineral Spa Shampoo. My mom loves the pomegranate smell of it and it works well on our furs. I got all lathered up, and was not enjoying it at all. Getting photographed in the tub makes things even worse. Look at all the dirt on the tub. That must be from my mom because I am sure it was not coming from me.
The bath was a quick as we could make it, and then I was out of the tub with my ducky to be dried off. I think I was still in shock at the whole bath thing at the time.
Once the door was opened, I bolted downstairs, and was caught in the living room with this sinister smile pose!
Bailie was marched upstairs to the water torture area after Mom rinsed all the dirt out of the tub. She decided she wanted to leave, but it was too late as the door was closed behind her. As was the case with me, before she knew what was happening, she had been hosed down, and lathered up.
This photo really shows the “joy” in her eyes at the whole bath thing! Bailie says you should buy this shampoo for your own dog to torture them with! After she was rinsed off and towel dried, the door opened and there I was, waiting right outside the door.
Together we raced downstairs. We were stopped on the landing for one post bath photo before we were allowed to do some zoomies in the living room.
Here we are semi-brushed, and dry, looking pretty clean. No worries, we will be dirty again tomorrow, I’m sure. There are so many puddles around, and our yard is like a wet sponge. Staying squeaky clean this time of year is nearly impossible!

all the dirt is gone?… till tomorrow? lol we fear this moment, but the mama will wait till the mud is no longer everywhere…
Mom could not wait any longer because I was black all over, and I have trial this weekend. She says I can’t be a dirtball when I compete.
Look how clean and beautiful you look!
We look pretty decent, but still need our furs stripped. Hopefully we can get to the spa in a couple weeks for that.
You both can up so well! I go to the spa in 2 weeks – and everyone says I clean up well too. It is a torture we all have to endure. Good luck this weekend! XOXO, Sparkle
I was really a dirt ball! We need to go to the spa to get our furs stripped and stuff, but Mom is waiting for better weather. Enjoy your clean up.
Awwww, bath time. Fun for everyone.
It’s funny, but Mom dislikes giving us baths, and we dislike being bathed, so it is always something the family dreads! Thank goodness usually we just go to the spa.
Oh My Goodness! A bath!!?? Last night my Mom said something really similar to my brother and me. And she said the same thing about not going to the groomer! Iβm glad you tipped us off Madison. If I hear the tub running… Weβre running the other way!!!!! Your pictures are awesome. Mom loved this post. We felt bad for you and Bailie! Have a great Friday. your friend Lilly
Once we are released from the locked room with the torture chamber, it is all fun and zoomies! Hope you guys can avoid the same fate, but once it is done, life goes back to normal, and I hear will will head to the spa later in April. Have a Grand weekend!
Oh my, it doesn’t look like you were having fun but I’ll bet it felt better when you were all dried out.
As kitties know, bath time is not a favorite time! We love water, but not the bath thing. Since we do it so seldom at home, we have never gotten used to it.
Being clean and smelling pretty always leads to extra hugs and kisses, girls – and now that I’ve said that – I will be getting a bath soon too – very soon!
You sound like a dog who enjoys a bath. We demand the same love even when we are dirty.
Great spring cleaning. Our Little Bit loved the groomer. She loved her baths and would just stand there and enjoy every minute.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your mom. β₯
Just not a fan of getting a bath at home. The spa is a bit better, but we still prefer no bath.
We think you had that sinister smile because you knew your sister was about to get tortured next! LOL
You might be onto something there, but I’m not saying anything as I wouldn’t want Bailie to know that.
You were pretty good sports, especially about the “in bath” photoshoots!!

So embarrassing, but we were held hostage and had no choice.
We send our sympathy. Mom bought us a bath wash pass from our local pet store. They mainly use it for Bentley because so much hair comes off of him when he baths. I get water boarded there sometimes but usually I end up at the groomer. #TheStruggleIsReal Your pal, Pierre
Oh no! That is terrible. So sorry to hear that! The spa is better than home, but still prefer to skip baths altogether.
You look so beautiful when you are clean, i wish you liked baths better. It would seem to me to be fun to get wet and sudsy and slippery.
Getting all soaking wet is great in a lake or ocean, but not in the tub with that smelly stuff humans rub into our furs.
You gals look beautiful! I would like the smell of Pomegranate too.
It’s mom’s favorite shampoo if she has to clean us up.
Spring cleaning the dog is sadly an evil that is necessary for dogs. You don’t want fleas, ticks or any other bad thing do you? Put up with the bath and you’ll be rewarded.
We have stuff for the fleas and ticks. The bath is just for all the dirt.
In the season of mud, this happens a lot around our house.
It sure can be a real mess!
You two girls look so gorgeous after a bath!!!!
We clean up pretty nicely, but we are not real thrilled about the process.
Madison, your side grin looks exactly like what my youngest does, she wrinkles up one side of her face and just stares at you. at least you girls smell nice, and maybe mom will let you sleep with her now. Bailie looks very unhappy, with the big eyes starring at Mom, i guess, in horror. did you girls get water everywhere?
We all know Bailie has those expressive eyes. We get to sleep in bed no matter what, but Mom is much happier if we are nice and clean. Even though we don’t like a bath, we do just stand there and accept our fate, so no water everywhere.
BATH!
YIKES!!!!

Bath is a four letter word, you know.
