Skamp? I know, you are wondering what in the world is a Skamp? Well, Bailie and I are going to tell you all about this awesome new dog toy we recently had a chance to test out. In our opinion, most dogs will agree, it is a super fun toy.
My GBGV Life received the WestPaw® Skamp™ with Zogoflex Echo™ in this post to review. We receive no additional benefits for barking about WestPaw products or the company. How many dogs out there have actually scampered around with a Skamp? I bet not too many have since it was just introduced to the market by WestPaw in late March.
Skamp, what is it?
Skamp is the third toy in the Zogoflex Echo collection. Remember last year, we tested out the Zwig™? These toys are a safer and more durable alternative to classic dog toys. The Skamp is designed for moderate chewers, and is perfect for playing toss, fetch, tug-of-war, or our favorite game, keep away.
What makes this toy different?
⦁ Skamp flies far, and makes some funky bounces, even if you get hit, it is lightweight and won’t hurt you.
⦁ It will float making it a great water toy.
⦁ There are three lobes making interactive play with humans and other dogs a breeze.
⦁ The construction is soft, and hollow making it is easy on dog teeth for any aged dog.
⦁ They are BPA and Phthalate-free, non-toxic and FDA compliant.
⦁ You can actually put them in your dishwasher if you would like!
⦁ Amazingly, they are also 100% recyclable!
⦁ WestPaw products are made right here in the USA in Bozeman, Montana.
Why do we love ours?
Bailie says she enjoys scampering around the yard with the Skamp, keeping it away from me. Keep away is one of her favorite games to play with toys.
When I finally have a chance to play with it, I enjoy trotting around, very proudly with it in my mouth. I’m so happy, I’m trying to smile, without dropping the Skamp!
Bailie also enjoys gnawing on it. Since it is durable, and not hard, it is so much better than a dangerous stick. Did you know, sticks can leave splinters and puncture wounds, and even modern tennis balls have toxic glues, and are abrasive on teeth? Luckily, we have no interest in tennis balls around here.
What do you think? Would your dog be interested in a Skamp? They come in three pretty colors, the Jungle Green we have, Melon which is orange, or Eggplant, which is purple. If your dog doesn’t like to wait, you can even order them on Amazon Prime!
Wouldn’t you like to see your furry friend scampering around your yard with a new, safe toy this spring?
We’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday because we are happy hounds.
That sure looks like a fun thing and you two were sure having a blast!
We love to race around with it one at a time.
we saw it at Luke yesterday and we think we would love it… but puple or green that’s the question… ummm… we take both :O)
One for each of you, so you do need both colors.
Luke reviewed that on his blog yesterday. It looks like a superFun toy!
We saw him playing with his yesterday too.
You two make any post such fun. What a fun toy for the both of you to enjoy. Great review as always.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥
Thank you. We love to have fun, and try to make out posts fun.
Great review Madison – I will get one for my Alex – he loves when I toss a toy so he can run and bring it back to me. Sometimes he holds on to it so I have to chase him.
We never retrieve. Either we take it and run, or we just drop it and walk away so Mom can retrieve it herself, LOL! It’s most fun for us to just play keep away with each other, but it would be a great fetch toy for dogs who do fetch.
I love toys! Skamp looks like so much fun. I am not sure if my mommy will buy one for me, but you and Bailie sure are having fun with yours! XOXO, Sparkle
It even floats in case it fell in your pool. One has to think about toy safety too, you know.
Pierre would LOVE that you!!
I’m scared when it bounces weird, but once it stops, I love to grab it and run around with it.
Our Mom has looked at that one but wasn’t sure if we would like it – we will tell her that we NEED one especially for me Zachary – I am always taking toys outside to run with.
It’s an ideal toy for indoors because it is soft, but for outdoors too since it floats, and flys well being light weight.
You’re so darling! Glad you are having fun Scampering around!
Thank you. We love to scamper and race.
West Paw sure comes up with some fun toys!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
They are a super company with great products.
You girls sure had some fun with that! We noticed you didn’t play tug together with it, is that not something you girls do? I think Luke enjoyed simply chewing on it the best, like Bailie does.
I rarely play tug. Bailie said she used to play tug with Katie. Katie’s favorite game was tug, but we are not much for tug unless it means pulling on cat bro Bert, LOL! Running around with Skamp and chasing it are the most fun for us.
Coda would love this, although i wonder about Lulu, whose favorite game is tug-of-war. She chews down hard and yanks hard, and i’m not sure a person could grasp it that well when she is pulling hard like that. Maybe she’d just want to chase it outside.
This would be great for tug a war because it is easy to grip being soft, and the balls on the ends keep paw, mouths, and hands from sliding off. It’s a very nice toy.
That looks like a good toy for Ducky to play with in the yard; but I’m not sure she would give up her Kong Bounzer for it.
I don’t know. This one does some super funky bouncing when it lands.
That’s pretty cool, the dogs could play tug with it. I love the color.
It would be great for dogs who play tug, but we don’t do that much.
Looks like a fun game of chase the “Skamp!”
That’s what we love to do with our toys in the yard.
