It’s time to color the eggs for Easter. We wanted to do it sooner, but Mom didn’t have time to set us up. Bailie is in charge for the first time this year. You know what that means? Lots, and I mean lots of eggs. She could eat eggs until she explodes! We each got to pick our own coloring kit too. I chose the classic, and no surprise, Bailie found one with bling!
Things were looking pretty good. Bailie got out thirty eggs, and we have five colors, so that makes six of each color. We did run into one hiccup. Bailie’s coloring package requires white rice, but don’t have any, so we decided to save that for next year, and just do classic eggs. Mom got out the dipping cups and made up the colors for us.
Next we had to start putting the eggs into the color cups to turn pretty colors. The biggest trick was not to splash the colored liquid all over the place. We can be a bit clumsy with our paws and eggs.
Bailie has done this more times than I have, and she said to leave the eggs in longer for better colors. No one told us how long, so we were just waiting and guessing.
The first five came out and looked pretty good. I wanted an up close and personal sniff to make sure they smelled like good eggs.
For some reason they have an egg smell plus something weird. I wonder if the color stuff smells odd? It would be best for me to take a sniff of the orange to check out my theory. Imagine that! The orange does smell odd, but not nothing like an orange.
We worked and worked to get all thirty eggs colored up nicely. Before getting rid of the coloring stuff, we needed to make sure we really were all done. Bailie hinted at coloring thirty more eggs, but Mom said no to that idea.
Oh boy, they sure do look great, and we get to eat them too, eventually! People have told us we can eat the eggshells, but I don’t want to try that. Bailie would, because she eats anything!
My egg crazed sister is super proud of her eggs, can you tell? I hope she saves some for Easter!
As for me, I like an egg now and then, but I’m not nuts about them. What I am, is short. I really could use a couple more inches in my legs, but I don’t think that will happen. Have you colored eggs yet this year?
Weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday because we are happy hounds.
I always enjoy your egg coloring posts, it’s so cool you do this. I need to take the time to do this. Pretty eggs.
One needs to take time to do fun stuff in life.
Madison, you’re not short. You’re height-challenged. π But you’re cute as a button! And we love you as much as we love Bailie.
You girls did a great job with the eggs!!
I don’t mind being called short, but height challenged sounds pretty good.
That’s pretty eggciting and you two sure make it look easy!
It is not too hard really.
How did you keep the furs on your paws so clean? It sure looks like you and Bailie had a great time! You got closer to the eggs dying than I would – the funny smell is vinegar and I would keep my distance. Now I am humming Here comes Peter Cottontil, hopping down the bunny trail….” XOXO, Sparkle
We always want to drink the colored water mixture, but Mom says we are not allowed to.
we will start thursday if the mama can find food color… can you imagine that this land has not even coloring sheets for easter eggs? we love this pastel colors they look like spring… beautiful!
Europe can be a real fun killer sometimes. They often lack the simple fun stuff in life according to my mom.
Well…are you going to ship some to your friends? If you did that on the sly, Bailey would be non the wiser and WE could have easter eggs too! Elbe
I think Bailie keeps count of the eggs because she wants to eat as many as possible.
Oh how fun. You two did a great job. It’s fun to color eggs. We don’t do this anymore as we don’t have little ones to entertain. I so remember though.
I love your bunny ears. You have to dress properly if you’re going to color eggs.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, you two. My best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Our late sister Emma told us it is not only what you do, but how you look doing it. She was very pawticular about how she looked.
You did a great job! Luke enjoys eating the whole egg, shell and all, too, so he gets Bailie’s desire to do so. But he has to steal them to get the whole thing – not that he wants to give Bailie any ideas. π
Bailie hasn’t stolen a whole egg yet, but she has stolen Mom’s hard boiled egg right off the counter, bad girl!
I just love the expression on Madison face!
π I’m just being myself, little Madison.
You girls did a fabulous job with the eggs! Mom would never trust me to do that!
My mom gets tired of doing it, so she is happy to have some help.
oh my you both did a pawfect job! Your eggs are beautiful!!!
Thank you. It took a long time with so many eggs.
We love the pastel colors! We think maybe Mama needs to do this with us too!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Oh, you definitely should do it. It’s part of the Easter experience.
We haven’t colored any eggs. We do get some eggs that are different colors, though – blue, light and dark brown, and of course white. We love to eat eggs!!
We have heard eggs come in different colors naturally, but we always get white at our store. Enjoy your eggs.
What fun to color eggs, the children used to enjoy it so much.
Since we are the fur kids, we get to do it every year. Loads of fun!
Yβall did a pawsome job on your eggs! Watch out that the Easter Bunny doesnβt try to claim them as his own!
Good point! I will ask Mom to put a lock on the fridge.
