Spring has sprung here in Minnesnowta. Just two weeks ago, we had nine inches of wet, heavy snow but it is long gone. Of course, this is Minnesnowta, which means there is still a chance for more snow. We took a nice long walk the other day when it was around seventy five degrees out. I have to say, I miss the cold weather as it feels way too warm in my furs!
Some of the trees are getting their buds on. It’s crazy amazing how fast this happens this time of year!
We love to walk in the woods, but we also make sure we are covered so those nasty ticks don’t try to make us their new home! Mom actually found a tick in the middle of our snowstorm two weeks ago. Those rotten things are far too hearty! Who expects to bring in a tick in a snowstorm?
All the brown fall leaves are still laying all over the ground. Depending on where you take a photo, one might think it is actually a photo taken in the fall, not in April.
The green plants are not shy and they are busy rapidly pushing themselves up through the dirt and layers of dead leaves. Soon there will be little flowers.
I think because I’m so close to the ground, and the asphalt, the heat really gets to me fast. If you are a Facebook friend, you may have seen this photo I posted the other day. My tongue, as always, tells it all. Far too warm out for me!
Oh boy, look! The snowball bushes are even starting to get their new leaves. We love their big flowers later in the season, and they also look great dried out in the wintertime.
Sometimes we have to find a bench and take a short rest. It’s not easy being us, always on the go with our mom. Isn’t it funny how both of our tongues kind of match?
What is the speed bump? Just when you think spring has sprung for real, the weather people, who are often wrong, and we hope they are this time, are saying plowable snow tomorrow afternoon. We have a big sports weekend, so there is no time for snow! Hopefully it won’t be too bad, or we will manage to avoid it completely. It is Minnesnowta, so we are not surprised, just not too happy. Such a waste of good snow this time of year!
Our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard are hosting a nature Friday Blog Hop, and we are joining them this week.
Here in my corner of Australia the weather seems to think we’re having an elongated summer and a couple of my plants are flowering when they shouldn’t be.
We have the elongated winter, LOL!
we hear you… that weather guys ruin the whole spring with their forecasts. after we nearly had summer we are back to november now ;O) that ticks are troopers, they even come while you have snow storms? crazy isn’t it? we have none here, we think that’s because of our weather… ui that means our weather is more worse than a snowstorm, right? the mama said yes, LOL
Europe weather is not fun according to my mom. Cool and damp is not her thing. She prefers real cold and snow, or hot and dry if she has to be where it is warm. Ticks, they all need to just die.
Oh my, I sure hope those wrong ones are wrong again and you get to do your out n’ about!
I think driving may be a bit messy tomorrow, but we will be driving anyway. We’ve had this happen a lot this spring.
Spring there is looking a lot like spring here, but thankfully we aren’t expecting any snow! We are going to get a lot of rain though, hopefully that just leads to more flowers as the saying promises! Hopefully any snow you get will not collect on the roads – wishing you safe travels!
They are saying slushy roads, but we won’t know until we are out and about driving. Paws crossed for only rain.
Snow!? Holy cow! We are in a rainy day here — yuck! But everything is green! And budding. Mom likes to walk and see what has come up since the last walk! I am getting groomed today so mom hopes that will also help me not be too hot. My tongue hangs out too sometimes! My brother has black fur so mom is sure he is going to be hot in the summer. We love all of your pictures and this is an awesome post Madison! Have a great weekend your friend Lilly
My mom’s first dog was black and she never was bothered by the heat which is weird! Good luck at the spa, the torture we have to endure to be even more beautiful is crazy! Have a fun weekend.
Itβs really dreary in New York. It would be nice to take a walk in The sun.
Sun today, snow tomorrow…story of our lives in April!
Springing spring for sure. I hope you don’t get the snow they are forecasting.
We hope not too, but Canada is sending down some real cold air, so I fear we will see more white stuff. This time of year it is not fun because it is so wet and just melts.
Little, Madison, you do have the longest tongue! How does it fit into your mouth? My mom loved seeing your spring photos – the buds and growth. She says spring is amazing. Wishing you success this weekend, and paws crossed the weatherman is wrong. XOXO, Sparkle
Spring is pretty crazy, and all those green things will survive some snow, they always do. My tongue is just the way it is, no idea why, but maybe that is why I don’t like to eat much because there is not space for food in my mouth! Happy weekend.
I hope the weather folks are wrong. You’re having a lovely spring right now. I love to see blossoms and new greenery sprout up.
You two have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your peeps. β₯
We fear they are right because Canada is sending us cold air. The rain will turn to snow, and then move on, but we will deal with it.
You girls do look hot! That snow will surely cool you right down!
Yes, the snow was a cold slap in the facial furs for sure.
The weather is just plain crazy. But, as long as we’re prepared for it, all is well. Good luck with your sports this weekend! Safe travels, too!
It is very crazy weather, but hopefully this is our last snow until the fall.
Letβs hope you do not get snow. Itβs time for the blooms to enjoy blooming without freezing.
At home I don’t think it snowed, but we are traveling and are in a snowstorm!
It’s nice to see a little bit of Spring in Minnasnowta…I hope the snow stays away..but you still can enjoy some cooler temps!
xoxo,
Jakey, Arty & Rosy
I think the snow missed our house, but we got into a snowstorm on our travels. Oh well.
My momma would go nutso at snow in late April.
It’s part of living up here in the Northland.
I can’t believe how late it is and there is still snow in the forecast. Paisley the Weather Lab predicted snow in the north too. We will keep our paws crossed that it doesn’t happen so all the green buds can continue to bloom.
We don’t think it snowed at our house, but be drove 100 miles in snow and we are in a snowstorm here where my nose work trial is tomorrow. It is supposed to stop tonight.
Oh no! Not a tick in the snow! That sounds horrible! We had the unfortunate experience at my inlaw’s recently. Their backyard was a tick paradise. I even managed to get bitten by one but I got all of them off the dogs before they could get attached. Ticks are awful.
They are so nasty. I wish there was a better way to get rid of them.
I thought Spring was finally here in CT, but this morning I needed my flannel lined pants. We had frost!
We drove 100 miles in the snowstorm on Saturday afternoon, and then played in it when we got to the hotel. It all melted Sunday morning.
The beautiful signs of spring.
Mom says this weekend spring is going to explode. I’m a bit worried about that.
