Be Kind To Animals Week is May 5 – 11 this year. What can you do to support animals this week? Can you believe Mom says we are animals? Bailie and I find it hard to believe. We think this kind of week should start with things at home, and then move out and about.
How We Are Celebrating This Week
Our home office window is the most coveted spot in our house. Everyone wants to be on the window seat, preferably in the comfy bed. For Be Kind To Animals Week, we are trying to share the spot. Bailie let Bert (who is really an animal) have our cozy bed for his afternoon sun time. Who knows if he is appreciative of the kindness or not…he is a cat after all.
I guess I was not as nice to the feline animal, as I refused to give up the bed, but I did let him come up on the bench. We watched for critters together for a while. Lucky for me he didn’t hang out with me for too long. I could not relax until he left since he has been known to beat me up so I will leave the bed. Bert is not observing this be kind week at all.
Bailie and I always share, and are kind to each other. She never gets into the window bed, but she likes to hang out on the bench and watch the world go by with me.
How You Can Celebrate This Week
What can you do to get involved in Be Kind To Animals Week?
- Take your pup for an extra walk. Mom took us for an extra walk this week, to a place I have never been to. We will post about that tomorrow.
- Volunteer at an animal shelter to help out animals that are less fortunate.
- Donate food or other supplies to a shelter for the animals who can really use it.
Don’t chase squirrels or rabbits during this week.Forget it! Not possible, and they are critters anyway, not animals.- Give your dog or cat some extra scratches behind the ears, belly rubs, or whatever it is that they enjoy.
How are you celebrating this week with your animals?
We are thankful for this week to benefit animals, so weβre joining Brianβs Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop! Visit some other blogs to see what they are thankful for.
we are a little like your cat bro Bert… but for this week we will not chase any animal and even da phenny promised to eat no snails…
Oh my, snails? I don’t think I have ever seen such a creature. You guys are a lot like Bert, maybe it is a boy thing?
Be kind to Animals and Teacher Appreciation Week all in one week. How appropriate for my household! You mommy really, really does appreciate ALL of you – even Bert an Sophie. My mommy is trying to find me a sister because she knows I am lonely. XOXO, Sparkle
It would be hard to suddenly be an only dog. Are you thinking about another PBGV? We like being the same breed, even though we are super different, we are very similar.
No, I want another Boston terrier! She has found 2 baby girls in a litter ready to go home next week. She gets to pick the one she thinks I will like best. Pretty sure her call name is going to be Puffin. Black and white and Mom love Alaska! XOXO, Sparkle
Well, that is exciting. I hope it works out for all of you π
It’s been very cold and wet here in my corner of Australia so Merlin has been extra snuggly with me lately.
It rained, I mean poured all day yesterday, and today it is super cold and wet, so we are snuggly too. That is the only good thing about bad weather.
What a great week! You all are so nice to share your bed!
In a multi fur home, we have to share, and we do pretty well. The cat can be troublesome at times.
That was a terrific post sweeties and I know Bert love you, really he does. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
He sometimes acts like he doesn’t, but he always seeks us out, so we know he likes us. Sophie, not so much.
Isnβt every day be kind to animal day?
We agree with you – every day is be kind to animals day.
At our house it is, but we will go that extra step and give some food to the shelter to help those who need it this week π
We sure agree, we should all be kind to all animals. Even if it is just feeding some feral cats or feral dogs. You all have a fantastic day.
Always be nice to the furry ones, we are people too!
It’s so easy to be kind to animals. They are most precious.
Have a purrfect and woof woof day. My best to your smart mom. β₯
Mom always tells us we are her precious little ones π
I certainly try to be kind to all animals every day! And I put things in the shelter’s donation bucket at our vet’s office quite often. And I agree with Brian – your cat bro Bert does love you girls, even if he is too much of a feline to show it. π
He is a cat, so we don’t expect a lot from him! Every day Mom is kind to animals, but this week we try to be extra kind.
That Bert! He always has his own agenda, doesn’t he? Cats are like that! Great photos of you all sharing that nice spot!
Definitely no respect for dogs with Bert.
Everyone got an extra treat today, and we help at the shelter every week because we want to be kind year βround.
It’s always good to be kind, and this week a little extra kindness on top of it all!
Wonderful pictures, I agree, let’s all be kind.
We should always be kind to animals, but extra kind this week.
Those are some great ways to celebrate kindness week.
Thanks, trying to do a little extra this week.
Whew, good thing ya crossed through not chasing rabbits or squirrels – no way I could give that up!
I don’t think the week applies to wild critters, so it is alright to keep chasing.
Aww…what a heartwarming postie. You sure know what kindness is, sweeties <3 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to all of youπΎπ½π
We try to always be kind, but sometimes it is easier than others. Our cat bro Bert likes to push our buttons.
We have tried being nice…and not chasing any backyard birdies…but the struggle is very real!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
I don’t think birdies count as animals, do they?
We enjoyed our week but there were visitors in our home and Mom wouldn’t let us go root through their stuff in the guest room. We didn’t think that was very nice of her. We know y’all will get lots of love.
That is rather rude since it is your house! I guess life is back to normal for you now.
Cats!π
I donβt feel safe around themβοΈ despite the fact that Dot & Jerry Underfoot have never been mean but Dot does like to slap our bottoms when we come back from outsideπ
Remind mom sheβs too is an animal π
πnose nudgesπ
Never trust a cat! Bert beats up on us all the time. Mom is our head animal, and we are generally kind to her.
