Yesterday was Olivia’s first visit to our veterinarian. It was one week already since we picked her up, and time for her to get a check up and some other important things done. She even posed by the sign for a photo. I guess Olivia is realizing posing is part of life at our house.
Of course, the vet tech, and everyone else at the Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital fell in love with our sister when she walked in the door. She got cuddled so much by everyone we were afraid her fur might start to wear off!
Even though Olivia is only ten weeks old, she still needs to have her heartworm preventative, and flea and tick treatment. She started learning to track yesterday too, so she will be in the grass with ticks a lot. Aside from that, she needs to be chipped. Usually the breeder does that, but the chips hadn’t arrived when we picked up Olivia. Now she is all registered so if she ever goes missing she is properly chipped.
Of course, she also had a small physical. Her weight came in at just over eleven and a half pounds. Olivia’s first visit to our veterinarian went well. Although Olivia loves all the attention, she wasn’t keen on Dr. Lammi looking in her ears, so the techs gave her some cheese to keep her busy during the ear check. She will have to go back for a vaccination in about two weeks, but otherwise she is all set. Tonight she starts her Puppy Einstein class, and she is ready to roll!
ohhh what a brave little girl! have fun at the class and we bet you will be the eyecather tonight ;O)
I know I was pretty popular, so I bet Olivia will be too.
Olivia is so stinking cute! I have decided I love baby fur babies! Puffin goes for her 2nd official vet visit this morning. She also needs to be chipped and get more heartworm meds. Puppies get so much attention when they go anywhere. Puffin is about half the size of Olivia. I willnot be happy being left home alone while Puffin gets to go bye-bye! XOXO, Sparkle
We were all there in the car, but only Olivia went in. It’s okay when she goes alone places so we can rest up.
They give her cheese. I ought to change vets. Kari doesn’t get anything and her ears are looked at every month.
It was the first time Mom saw cheese, but it worked really well.
Olivia is so good and such a sweet cuddle bug!
Cuddling is really her thing!
She is so dang cute. I love that the vet gets on the floor with her.
We are so used to that, we didn’t even think about it. They are always on the floor with us. Our clinic is awesome, but we still don’t like to go there.
Aw, she’s so adorable. I can see why everyone falls in love with her.
Have a fabulous day. Scritches to the pups. ♥
Thank you. She had a lot of fun that half hour. We were thankful we didn’t have to go in with her.
Olivia is so cute as many have said. She’s a good poser too. I’m glad she’s chipped now, hopefully never needed. My puppies are Golden’s and almost a year. We’re curious, what is Einstein class?
It’s the super early puppy class. Puppies learn some manners and basic obedience, get to conquer obstacles like wobble boards. Fun with learning.
We’ve said it before and you have to hear it again. We just LOVE your sweet superLong ears, Olivia!
Everyone loves her long ears.
I bet you charmed ALL the peeps at the Vets sweet Olivia
Loves and licky kisses

She did. Mom was afraid they might not let her go!
We aren’t very keen on peaople looking in our ears either, Olivia…but we don’t get cheese. We made a note to ask our dogtur about it next time we visit!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Bailie and I never had cheese at the vet before either.
She is looking to be as bright and excellent as her two big sisters!
She’s the perfect puppy, at least we think so.
We can just imagine how much they enjoyed Olivia at her first visit! We hope she enjoyed all the adoration so she won’t mind going the next time. 🙂
She thought it was great and can’t wait to go again.
So cute! I love how great your veterinarian was with her – using positive reinforcement when she let them check in her ear.
Our vet clinic is really good. We are lucky to have them.
love that cutie! She is just precious!
She is a sweet little cuddle ball.
Olivia is just the sweetest girl. Can’t wait to see her growing up. Welcome to Blogville, pretty girl.
We wish she wouldn’t grow up so fast, but that is puppy life.
I’m sure Olivia’s visit was the best part of their day! What a big girl to pose AND start puppy classes!
She’s pretty smart for a young pup.
Another Pawtacular Olivia!
Wagnificent 🐾💜🐾
Thank you.
What a great first visit!
Silly girl, she can’t wait to go back again!
Olivia is so precious! Looking at the pix of her makes me want another puppy. (I just don’t think Ducky’s ready for a new sibling yet. Maybe next year, we’ll see.)
My mom loves puppies so much. She wishes they would stay puppies for at least a couple years, but Olivia is already growing like a weed.
I’m glad your vet visit went so well. You are healthy, got your chip so you wouldn’t get lost and got cheese for looking in ears. Lexie, Mica really liked to go to the vet for any reason, nothing bothered them. When they left they gave everyone a kiss. Aspen has never minded the vet until his vet retired so he is a little uneasy with the ones he doesn’t know but takes his shots and health checks fine. But just like Olivia he hated his ears checked, cleaned or trimmed. Hope your experience was a really good one, with all the hugs I bet it was.
We all like the vet when we are real young, but along the way, we decide we are not so fond of the place. Olivia had her second visit yesterday and loved it again.
