Welcome to our jungle in the Northland. This year all the flowers and greenery are growing like crazy. We have had so much rain, and lots of cool weather which is perfect for growing plants. This is my on our front step. Mom has to keep cutting back the plants so people can walk in the walkway!
The Hydrangeas, called Snowball Bushes here in Minnesnowta are huge! Mom has cut this thing back several times but it just keeps getting bigger! Lots of snowballs for summer!
White snowballs are my favorite because they look like snowballs. Olivia actually bit into one. Mom had to pick the flower pieces out of her mouth!
We have a smaller bush, not pictured, that has pink snowballs. They are pretty cute too, but much smaller than the big white ones.
Our potted Geraniums are also growing by leaps and bounds. To be honest, I’m worried one day the delivery guy in the big truck might not be able to find his way to our front door with our food and treats!
There are three of these giant bushes. I don’t know what they are called, but they are pretty with their pink/purple flowers. They seem to want to take over the entire area, though.
On our deck we have the pink Geranium pots. They too are really large. Madison was at the spa yesterday and came home all spiffed up. She insisted on posing by the pink flowers with her new fur style, and bandana. According to her, she is the prettiest flower we have. I am not sure.
That is our jungle in the Northland. We are also joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
Madison fits in with all the pretty flowers with that bandana! Our hydrangea isn’t blooming yet, but it’s definitely been quite a year for things to grow. Isn’t it funny that sometimes when you cut things back, they come back even stronger. I think that pink flowering bush might be spirea. We have some of those too and they really do try to take over. In fact, back in the spring I had my hubby cut one of them back all the way to the ground because it was shading my daffodils. It is now back bigger and more full than ever!
We wish stuff would just quit growing at this point. It is just nuts!
that is so beautiful!!! the mama is as green as her thumb should be LOL
My mom is not into gardening, but whatever she plants always grows, even when she tries to kill it!
Everything looks so lush and pretty. Just like the girls.
It is really like a jungle in our yard these days. The grass grows so fast, it is crazy!
How BEAUTIFUL! We do not have those snowballs in Florida, and Mom wishes we did. Puffin would probably bite one too. I had a great day at the spa but did not get a bandana. Madison, your bandana is bright and colorful – just like you. Have a wonderful weekend! XOXO, Sparkle
I don’t usually care much for my bandanas, but I really love this one! It is totally me. My spa lady told Mom she got a lot of hair out of me. My furs are stripped down to the bone!
I do not get stripped. My groomer does not have the time to strip me down because she has so many clients. I love my groomer, Juanita. I met her when I was a baby puppy taking classes for puppy obedience, and she was the manager of the grooming salon at Petco. She has moved on to another salon and I moved with her to a local grooming salon. We boycott Petco because of how Juanita was treated. My town does not have a PetSmart, but it does have a Pet Supermarket. Sparkle
We don’t go to PetSmart or PetCo for grooming, just our own groomer who has her own shop. She is a competitive groomer and has many awards. It’s hard to find anyone who will strip a coat, but she does and is real good at it. As long as you are happy with your groomer, that is what matters.
Amazing! So pretty. I love the snowballs. My kind of snowball.
We love them too, but we also like the real snowballs.
Your flowers are beautiful. We had one week of beautiful weather now it’s hot and humid – my weeds are doing well this year!! Do you cut your snowballs all the way back at the end of the season? Madison, you do look lovely with your scarf! You 3 girls are all beautiful flowers.
Mom cuts them back every spring, and also during the summer because they keep expanding. The more she cuts them back the bigger they get which we don’t really want.
Thatβs a beautiful jungle, I wish my jungle looked that good.
LOL! Mom had to go whack down some more bushes last night because our paths were all covered over. We wish things would stop growing and stay as they are.
Beautiful. Love all the colors. It’s hard to keep up when it rains so much.
Aw on the pups.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. β₯
Everything is overgrown in about two seconds right now!
Lovely jungle! Lots to smell! We don’t have many of those pretty things in our yard, yet.
We don’t smell flowers too much, but they are pretty to look at.
Love it that those hydrangeas are called snowball flowers. A much prettier name!
Plants are all growing like crazy here too, with all the rain and long hours of daylight.
Happy Nature Friday.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Hope you can keep your plants from taking over your home. We are in a serious battle over here!
Mom loves your flowers!! She has never been much of a gardener so she always admires folks who can grow such pretty gardens! And Madison looks terrific! you look pretty good too Bailie! have a good day. your friend Lilly
My mom doesn’t garden either, so we have landscaping that flowers, but she doesn’t like having to keep cutting it all back since it grows so much. Happy weekend!
Wow, those pink hydrangeas are gorgeous! We mainly have blue and purple ones here.
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
The color of the flowers depends on the soil they are in. We add something to the water sometimes and it makes the one bush pink. Originally at the store a few years ago, it was blue.
Arooooo! Hydrangeas are my Mom’s favorite flower. We have dem in our backyard butt dis year dey are not blooming a lot.
You are so lucky to have such a pawsome and beautiful yard.
Wags,
Mary
Hydrangeas are great, but they sure can get huge!
Your Mom’s flowers are LOVELY!! The snowball ones are one of my Mom’s faves! She also loves geraniums because she says they are almost impossible to kill!!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
We need tough plants because my mom doesn’t spend time with flowers, just puts them out and says grow! LOL!
You have so many beautiful flowers, and you girls are beautiful and blooming, too!
Bailie and I are blooming, Olivia is growing like a weed.
Your flowers are just beautiful! Hydrangeas are one of mom’s favorites!
Hydrangeas are great because they seem real hardy, don’t need a lot of fuss, and in the winter, the dried flowers are also pretty against the snow.
Love your snowball bushes – they are in the Hydrangea family. The smaller pink ones are “normal hydrangeas” ( not sure what that means, but mom said so), and the small pink bushes are indeed a variety of spirea (again mom said so). Her grandmother and mother had all of these and now we have some of them in our yard that mom took when her mom died. They came from her grandma; she talks to them every time she goes out the door. I guess that is not too weird, because we bark every time we go out the doggie door. So I guess you girls, and we boys are all flower children!
Chablis & Elbe
We like the hydrangeas a lot since they seem to be simple flower that just grow, and geraniums are hardy too. Mom isn’t into fussing with the plants.
WOW, your jungle is absolutely beautiful and so are you girls!
It is a true jungle!
Wow! Your flowers are spectacular! Ours are struggling in the Texas sun and heat but we try to keep them happy!
Heat is hard on flowers, but Mom gets the hardy ones so they usually don’t die on us, LOL!
The snowballs are absolutely incredible!!!! What an amazing garden π Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. The snowballs are definitely the highlight!
Wow, everything (and everybody) looks fur-bulous!
We have all been growing like weeds I think, even Bailie and I have our furs going wild.
