Is your dog a morning dog? There are three of us, but we are not all morning dogs, and we are definitely not fans of Monday mornings! Little Olivia dreads the moment when Mom pops out of bed, knowing she too will need to get up soon.
Olivia moves from the bed to the floor while Mom makes the bed. She tries to get some more sleep, but Mom is so busy racing around, it is nearly impossible! Look at those big front paws front and center. I think she needs sleep because they are so big to carry around!
Me? I don’t like to get up early at all, and I dread it when I seem Mom coming to fetch me with her running gear. As soon as she gets up, I head to the guest bed to go back to sleep. I hope she doesn’t find me, but she always seems to know right where I am. It’s really bad after a sports weekend where we are up at 4:30 in the morning. What a crazy time of day to get up!
Bailie, on the other paw, is like Mom. She bolts out of bed and is ready for action right away. Olivia and I just don’t understand that morning energy dog thing at all.
Happy Monday Morning to all! Hope you get to sleep in and not be forced out of bed like we are!
Weβre joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Lol, these guys are both up early to eat, and then back to sleep.
We have to work out before we can eat and then have a nap. It is a tough life!
Please come here and teach Dougie Dog how to sleep in! He has an inner alarm and wakes everyone in the house, even on weekends to DEMAND his breakfast … promptly … on “his” time, he never misses a single morning. No such thing as sleepin’ in around here.
Maybe we need to trade homes because my mom sounds like Dougie Dog. Never ever sleeps in.
I like sleeping in on the weekends but through the week I consider myself a morning purrson. I’m more productive in the early hours. I just wish that productive stayed with me all through the day. π Have an awwwesome Monday and thanks for joining me on the dance floor! π
Mom’s idea of sleeping in really long is 6 am. Crazy for those of us who are not morning dogs!
Benjamin agrees wit you that mornings are for sleeping in! Zachary, Mia, and Ellee are super charged in the morning.
Bailie and Mom are charged, Olivia and I are just plain, dog tired.
YAWN! I am not a morning dog either, I take my sweet time getting up and going outside. My sister is quite the opposite. She is up and at em! What a change she had made in mu life, but I guess she is a keeper. XOXO, Sparkle
Olivia is just like me, fights getting up. I’m sure when she is a bit older, she too will try to hide.
I donβt get getting up that early unless you have an important meeting. Madison- you need to find a new hiding place.
Mom says we have an important meeting every day called feet/paws meet street. I would so like to stay in bed most of the morning, but I don’t see it happening in this home.
Our Little Bit was a morning pup too. When daddy got up she was ready for the day. Her clock was perfect and she knew what time to do whatever is done during the day. If we were one minute late she would let us know. We sure miss her.
You’re pups are such Awww’s and I so enjoy seeing what you all are up to.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday. Scritches to the pups. β₯
Awww, thank you. We wish we had known Little Bit. I think she is missed a lot.
Us cats are all up bright and early, some of us are brighter than others!
Sophie is a real problem. She wakes us up at 3 am a lot of mornings. Even Mom doesn’t like that.
Dogs like to sleep in? Maybe I should have adopted dogs instead of the 4am morning cats I live with!
The cats wake up Mom sometimes, but we dogs don’t want to get up so early.
Rosy is a bunch like your Mama and Bailie…She loves to be up and running around first thing in the morning….Jakey and I would much rather sleep!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
If mom stays in bed past 6, she says the day is lost. Ugh!
The early bird gets the worm! Oh yes – mom and I are definitely early risers!
After a big rain, there are lots of worms to get, but we usually leave them on the ground.
We empathize with your pain! We are NOT morning dogs and have been know to sleep in til 9:30 without a whimper.
Chablis 7 Elbe aka “the Boys”
Sometimes the pet sitter will let us sleep in, and Mom can’t believe we don’t get up until 8 or later sometimes.
Luke is pretty flexible, and I think he could go either way. He just seems happy to get up whenever I do! Though my hubby gets up much earlier, Luke will get up with him, go outside, have a bite of banana and then come back to bed. I’m not sure he’d want to stay up with Dad.
We have no choice, up and at it early. I guess we could go into the military with our schedule, LOL!
Being a morning person is a blessing and a curse!
Sometimes Mom wishes she could sleep longer or do things at night, but it isn’t going to happen.
The boys don’t like to get up On days Mom goes to keep the grandbabies, we get up and pee then go back to bed until 8:00. BOL! Mom and Dad get up at 7:00 now to ride bikes and we snooze again when they leave.
That’s amazing! Bailie said your parents like to sleep in, but I guess fitness is getting them out of bed early.
I’m not much of a morning pup…unless its 2am and I can wake the peeps up with my ‘I’ve gotta go out for potty NOW’ trick, hehe. But then I still want to go back to bed, I do LUFFS my bed
Loves and licky kisses

Once we go to bed, we don’t want to get up again until we have to, but we’ve heard about dogs who do like to wake their humans for a bathroom stop in the middle of the night.
I have one pooch that would love to sleep in each day, Glory!
Olivia and I really would love to sleep in every day!
