A puppy play date is always a fun thing. On Saturday, Bailie and Olivia went to meet new friend Simon who also has an older sister Baylee. Mom knows their dad from nose work. Simon is just over a year old and came to the family about the same time Olivia moved in with us. It’s always fun and good socialization when young pups can meet and play with new friends.
It is kind of funny that Simon and Olivia each have sisters named Bailie and Baylee, spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Baylee was not interested in the puppy nonsense. She had a squeaky ball to keep her busy but it was still nice to meet her. She is a lot like our Bailie…not real interested in interacting with the younger sibling.
Olivia was all about showing off at first. She is almost bigger than Simon, and her huge paws are definitely bigger than his paws. It looks like Simon is plotting something there with that grin!
Once they had a few minutes to get acquainted, the chase games began. Olivia was the one being chased, but she didn’t seem to mind it one bit. As long as she is running, she is having fun.
When they took a break, Bailie was there to make sure things went well. Even though she pretends to not care about Olivia, she is part of the pack, and Bails looks out for her. I bet she is giving him that, “keep your paws where I can see them” look.
Olivia is pretty good at holding her own with other dogs. Those big paws are also great weapons, and she is not at all shy about using them. I don’t think Simon has ever been smacked by such a big soft paw before, let along by a girl dog!
Not to worry, Simon recovered from the smack and got right back to the chase game. I think every puppy play date entails lots of chase games!
If you know Olivia, you know she loves to jump and fly. A good game of chase is a perfect opportunity to go airborne! “Look! I’m flying almost right over my friend Simon!”
After an hour, Bailie and Baylee were both pretty bored with all the puppy nonsense. Olivia was starting to wear down too, but not Simon, he was still ready to go! Before leaving, Olivia did have to show him her tackle moves, but he didn’t fold like I do! It sure was a fun puppy play date for Olivia and Simon. Maybe they will meet up to play down the road sometime.

Looks like a whole lot of exhausting fun for the pups if you ask me. It made me tired just seeing the flurry of activity. Sounds like a successful first play date. Maybe more will follow. π
Olivia is really getting into the chase game right now, so she plays at home with us too.
They sure were having such a fun time and we had fun watching them!
Lots of high speed, and tight turns.
I’d get all tuckered out just watching them.
Mom could watch us run forever. She loves it.
Itβs so fun to watch puppies play with specially when you live with a Senior.
Bailie says even Katie would play with her sometimes. It was short, but Katie loved chasing.
Simon and Olivia sitting in a tree; K I S S I N G! First came love, then came marriage. Here comes Olivia with a baby carriage! I think Olivia has a boyfriend! XOXO, Sparkle
Oh noooo…no babies here, please! Olivia is far too young for anything serious. At her age, I kissed boys all the time too.
What a great way to get Olivia some exercise while you are still recovering, Madison. She and Simon looked like they hit it off quite well, and it’s too funny that the older girls just kept an eye on things!
Same basic names, same lack of interest in young dog nonsense. Olivia had a great time and wasn’t as naughty as usual at Gramma’s afterwards.
You and Simon are too cute together, Olivia. Love the pictures!
Thank you. He was fun, and he really liked me.
Looks like the pups had a great time playing together! And I love how Bailie looked out for Olivia! Reminds me so much of how Callie always looked out for Shadow, and to some degree, Ducky as well. ππ
Bailie pretends to not care, but the moment Olivia squeaks, Bailie is right there.
Awww, such fun and you’re good with the camera too. Great actions shots. It’s so important for pups to socialize with other pups and people.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. β₯
Emma made sure Mom had a good DSLR camera, and helped her learn how to take better photos. Now it is up to us to keep her in practice. We use the phone sometimes, but for good shots, the big camera comes out.
dogs are so great how they can get along and play!
We have a lot of friends and it is always fun.
What a grand time Olivia and Simon had! I wonder if Olivia is going to be boy crazy too?!

I would guess that she will be since Bailie and I both were.
Always nice to meet new friends and have play dates, looks like this was a fun one.
Play dates are a lot of fun.
What exhuberance and energy they have – looks like fun!
Lots of energy to be burned off!
Play dates with puppies bring joy and smiles!
They are a really good idea for many reasons.
New furiends are the BEST and your photos sure show that’s true! Fabulous shots!
Thank you. Mom did manage to capture some fun moments.
This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship!
I’m sure they will meet again.
