The old Madison is starting to reappear, finally! It has been a long four months of trouble and confusion, but for the past three weeks Mom and others who know me have seen me slowly return to the way I was before my hormones hijacked my personality. I’m super happy, and Mom is extremely happy!
My return started about ten days before my surgery. Mom could feel a change in the mood at our house, and I seemed to be getting happier. During the past months, I’ve been scared, and not very friendly, even to people I know. Two weeks ago yesterday I finally had my spay surgery, and I’m happy to say I’ve healed up wonderfully. Look at my belly, the scar is barely visible! I didn’t have any stitches, the doc simply glued me back together!
Now we are starting the grooming process. Not being a fan of hair brushing, Mom didn’t brush my furs while I was recovering from surgery. Now there is a lot of work to be done, starting with finding my eyes!
Monday I whispered to Olivia that Mom had cleared me to play again after twelve long days. The two of us took off like crazy hounds and raced, and raced, and raced, and raced, until Mom had to separate us so we would rest. Both of us really missed playing together. I even play differently with Olivia now, and I am nicer to her. Our nose work instructor also noticed that I had changed from the past months.
Life is slowly returning to where we were with the old Madison. Olivia and I are having a blast. We are working with our behaviorist to reunite me and Bailie. Actually, Bailie busted out of her room while Mom was gone with Olivia last week. Can you imagine the shock Mom had when she walked in the house and saw us together? Nothing happened, but we are taking it slow to make sure there are no setbacks. Over the next weeks we will be working on exercises to make sure we have a happy reunion. For all of this, I am really thankful!

Sweet girl, it’s so good to see you running and having fun!
I’m feeling much happier than I have in quite a while.
That is such good news Madison. So glad you are feeling so much better and playing too. You all have a great day.
It’s nice to have things settling down to normal finally.
Great news. hormones are a bitch. I know what you went through. So glad you are all back together.
Bailie and I are still separated, but we are learning to be together slowly. Mom doesn’t want us to ever fight again because that is not who we were for 2 1/2 years until the hormones messed me up, so we are playing it safe.
So happy the sparkling Madison personality is reemerging! I know how hard it is to be restricted. I could not roughhouse with Puffin after she had her spay surgery, but we did not have to wait 12 days. She is so little and healed very fast. I am going to the doctor on Monday because I have 3 warts on me. On is on my muzzle by my left eye. It got nicked when I was at the spa last week and looks ugly. Please keep your paws crossed they are not anything serious, but Mom wants them removed when they can schedule me for surgery. Have a happy play day! XOXO, Sparkle
Oh dear. Hope they are just nothing. Bailie has a bump on her nose. Mom is watching it closely. Emma had lots of subcutaneous cysts that came and went, so we have some experience with stuff growing and disappearing. Good your mom is taking great care of you.
That is so wonderful and we’re thrilled that you are getting your groove and sweetness back. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I was always so sweet and friendly and to be mean and scared of everything was just not much fun.
Aw, I’m glad you are becoming more like your “old” self again, sweet Madison!! I know your Mom and sisters are happy too!!
Bailie is still a bit non-trusting of me which is why we are taking integration slowly, but we will be back together soon.
What a wonderful and thankful post for all of us. We are so happy for you, Madison. It’s good to feel good again and your siblings are thrilled about that too.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your siblings and your mom. โฅ
Mom is super happy to have her fun and silly Madison back finally. Hormones are still settling for a while, but it’s been a huge change since about a week before my surgery until now.
oh we are so happy that you are back to 100% fabulous Madison!
Thank dog, because my hormone self was no fun at all.
Way to go Madison! Hope you and Bailey can learn to get along. Sometimes us boys still have spats – even after we had our manly parts removed. Bet Olivia is ecstatic!
The boys
Our trainer said we are doing fantastic. Bailie busted out last week so we could be together when Mom was gone and work things out too. We are going slow to make sure the transition goes well. We all have spats now and then, as that is life, but we don’t need real fights like we had because of my hormones.
That is fantastic news Madison. I am so happy for all of you!!!!!
Mom is really happy that I am coming back. She really missed the Madison she used to know.
Oh Madison ~ you are adorable and glad you are doing well with your siblings ~ hugs to you all.
Happy Day to You,

Thank you. I’m glad I’m feeling more like my old self every day!
that is pawesome news!!
I think so. I’m feeling pretty good.
Madison, it is such wonderful news that you are getting back to your old self! Your Mom must be so relieved to know that the hormones were the problem, and nothing else. We hope you and Bailie will be totally reunited again soon too. โฅ
We knew it was the hormones, but when they didn’t go away, we were concerned but then found out I thought I had puppies. What a summmer!
Yay, Madison, and your scar has healed beautifully!
She did a great job on the surgery.
Such happy news! Hooray!
We are all a lot more happy here too!
What fantastic news Madison!!!!!

It sure is, and I should continue to get even better.
I’m glad you’re feeling better now.
Welcome back, sweet girl. Glad you’re feeling better and things are looking more like the ‘good ole days.’
The past couple months have thrown a real wrench in our lifestyle, but we are working hard on getting things back together.
Iโm so glad everyone is doing better. Hopefully it will continue to improve and Bailie will come around. She is such a sweetheart.
Mom says we just have to take it all real slow.
All healed up and ready to go. Itโs so nice when their spayed. I love having Glory spayed.
Continued pawsitive energy & strength to you Maddison ๐nose nudges ๐
I’m feeling great, and am very thankful.
I’m really happy that Madison is back to being her happy self. Like I said, my females were never spayed Lexie had false pregnancies but their hormones never caused any problems.
What we had to go through is fairly rare, thank goodness. It really turned me into a terrible, mean dog who was afraid of everything too. Thankfully the old me is back.
