Mom took Olivia on her first Halloween shopping trip last week. It was a dreary day, so some pumpkins and fun decorations brightened up the mood. Pumpkins are new to Olivia, and at Pahl’s Market, they have a bizillion of them in all shapes and sizes.
After looking at some big pumpkins outside, Olivia found a bin of tiny ones inside. I think they must have smelled extra nice because she was really into sniffing them.
Not only do they have pumpkins, they have a lot of gourds. Mom says these ones are super weird and ugly, but Olivia found them to be quite interesting.
Besides fun stuff, they stumbled across a skeleton. Little Olivia was positively fearless and went right up to sniff the guy! She is so very brave for a puppy!
The one greenhouse has table after table of pumpkins in it. The tables don’t seem real sturdy, so Olivia was not allowed to put her paws on them to sniff.
Outside they have a giant pumpkin bouncy house for kids. I don’t think it would work well for dogs, but it does make for a nice photo.
Many of the fun decorations are outside too, like ceramic pumpkins. These ones are spooky with the cat faces on them. The giant mums behind Olivia sure look beautiful.
The favorite item of the day is this silly witch with a pumpkin. Isn’t she cute? Every year Mom takes one of us to Pahl’s to look around. Olivia said her first Halloween shopping trip was interesting, but she still doesn’t seem to grasp the whole Halloween concept.
We are joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
You are totally adorable with all of those pumpkins sweet Olivia!
Thank you. It was a fun place to do some sniffing.
we wonder how such a skeleton guys smells… like nothing or like bones?
He smelled dead, I think, but I’m not really sure how dead smells.
I think she had a pawsitively fun trip in her Halloween “Boo” collar! So stylish! XOXO, Sparkle
It’s her brand new collar for Halloween this year. We always get our own new one for each holiday.
Awww, Olivia! You are so darling on your first Halloween shopping trip! Enjoy the season little one.
She is living it up so far!
Olivia is a great poser and I’m guessing she’ll know more about Halloween next year. It takes time to really grasp some of the holidays.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Olivia. My best to your siblings and your mom. β₯
We don’t think she will like the trick or treat thing, so we will hibernate rather than go to the door.
she must feel like people are so weird…
We just wonder what is the point of all this stuff humans do. Dogs live a very simple life.
In our house pumpkins are for eating!!!!! Was Olivia thinking about pumpkin pie, muffins and biscuits while she was sniffing?
That could be. They sell pumpkins for baking, but Mom isn’t super into pumpkin, so she isn’t baking anything. Maybe we can bake something on our own.
Mom remembers the first time Mitch saw a pumpkin near our back porch. He barked at it because he was scared of itβΊ Love the pictures of you and the pumpkins, Olivia!
We like to chew on the stems, so they are usually out of reach at home here.
Olivia is a born star! What a cutie and curious canine!!!
She is a very curious puppy.
Looks like Olivia is intrigues by all those pumpkins, whatr a brave girl to go right up to that skeleton like that!

I think there were lots of great new smells for her to discover, including that skeleton.
It looks like it was a fun time for Olivia. We love these shopping trips, because they make for such great photos of you girls. Olivia did great!
Thank you. Unfortunately, we have had so many days of cold, wind, and rain, we haven’t been able to get to a pumpkin patch or orchard. It doesn’t look like it is going to happen this year.
You did a fantastic job on your first trip
Thank you. It was fun, and so many things to smell.
Olivia do you have a costume yet? Perhaps you should be “the great pumpkin” …
We have had our costumes since mid summer, but pumpkin is not one of them π
What a fun time at the pumpkin farm. Great photos.
Olivia enjoyed sniffing around the place.
What a spooktacular shopping experience! So many pumpkins to choose from!
So many pumpkins, and not enough room in the car for them all, LOL!
Olivia had a lovely day! Now, will she go Trick or Treating for doggie treats?
I don’t think so. She get spooked in the dark when she is outside, so we will hibernate on Halloween night.
What a happy outing!
Olivia really enjoyed sniffing around.
That really looks like fun, none of our pumpkin sites will allow you to bring your dog:(
Mom doesn’t think our area is very dog friendly, but there are several orchards and pumpkin patches that do allow dogs.
