A puppy’s first snow is the best! We have had a dusting of snow twice this fall, but yesterday we got almost three inches overnight. Olivia was fascinated, and the rest of us were quite pleased too.
Everyone loves to get out and make the first foot/paw prints in fresh snow. Mom and Bailie started the day going for a run. Mom has her IceBug running shoes to keep her from slipping. It was the first time she has ran with a dog in the snow since she broke her ankle slipping on ice in 2017. They came home and said it was a great run.
Olivia had to go to obedience class, so we had to get out in the yard quickly after our walk for some fun. Somehow, Olivia felt like she was the snow expert and should lay down some rules for us to play by.
Of course, I won’t settle for that. I’m pretty much the smallest, but the pack leader in our house. I dug out my fangs and reminded her of who the boss is around here. She got back in line quickly.
We did some good racing here and there, and around the fun pine trees. The snow was coming down from above nicely, and we were kicking it up from the ground too.
Olivia was looking for all the leaves and her toys in the snow. She has never had stuff disappear under a white coat before.
After Olivia got home from class, she went out for a bit with Bailie. Bailie isn’t very interested in hanging out with a puppy. I guess when you are six, puppies are beneath you or something.
Since Bailie didn’t want to play with her, Olivia did her best to pester her in the hope of getting a game of chase me going. No, it didn’t happen.
I came out again a bit later. Olivia and I discussed what games we should play in the fresh snow. Most likely it will all melt, so we need to make good use of it while we have it. She seems to be shocked that all the white stuff will disappear.
The only thing Olivia doesn’t like about snow is the snowballs in her paws. You know her paws are huge, which means she has a lot of snow between her jumbo toes! It is a lot of work for her to get rid of the snowballs. We are off to a good start for winter, let’s hope it keeps on going!
We’re thankful for snow, so we’re joining the Brianβs Home Blog Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
oooh the first snow is sure da best! da nelly said he missed that white stuff here in brittany , maybe this year we will get some too ;O)
My mom missed it when she lived in Northern Germany. We are bit snow lovers.
Look like everyone ,including Mom, had a great time in the snow
We sure did. It might melt on Saturday when we have 40 degrees, but we will enjoy it while we have it.
What great pictures!
Thank you. We had a great time.
Oh what fun! I think I remember snow, and I think I sometimes miss it. XOXO, Sparkle
I bet you would love it if you came up north. Most dogs seem to love it.
That first snow is sure one for the memory book and we sure enjoyed seeing your fun! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
One more thing to add to the firsts list for Olivia, and for us just for this season.
How fun. Some pups love the snow and ours didn’t. We don’t live where it snows, but took Little Bit up into the sierras to see the snow. She wanted nothing to do with snow. I’m glad your babies love the snow.
Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday. My best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Olivia’s registered name is Ethos Loving The Northland, so she pretty much has to love snow!
Playing in the snow is so much fun! I am so jealous.
It is so much fun. Too bad you don’t have any to play in.
My Alex loves the snow – he would have a great time with Olivia!
I think Alex would have a great time with all of us playing in the snow.
I love it!!!! Puppies and snow are the best combo. It’s funny how Olivia was the Instant Expert π
LOL! Dogs in snow are great, but puppy’s first snow is always a ton of fun to watch.
time to get the paw thawing bucket and towels out! They look like they are having a blast.
Luckily, it got really cold, so the snow isn’t sticking to us anymore.
What fun what fun but too early in the season. Enjoy gals!
Once Halloween is done, the snow can come and stay all winter in our opinion.
What fun! I love seeing all of Olivia’s firsts, thanks for keeping us updated!
She has a lot of firsts π
thought of you when I saw how much snow Minnesota received!! Love seeing your babies having a blast!
We are thrilled we got a couple inches because most of the metro didn’t get any.
It looks like a blast, i am glad she enjoyed it!
She fits in well with the rest of us snow lovers.
Looks like Olivia is going to love the snow just as much as the rest of the family!! Enjoy it…hope it sticks around for awhile!

It might melt on Saturday, but then it will get cold again, and we are hoping for more snow.
It looks like Olivia is fitting right in with your snow loving family!!

She has a lot of energy and bounds around the yard like a deer most of the time.
We rarely got snow and now being in Houston, we hopefully wonβt get any but I love seeing your pictures of the tons of snow yβall get! The boys have enjoyed playing in the snow once or twice.
We are sad it all melted, but we hope we get more soon even if it is early in the season.
Talk about smile worthy photos!
Lots of first snow fun for the pups!
