Happy Blogiversary Day to My GBGV Life! On this day in 2011, Emma published her very first blog post. She was just five years old at the time, but destined for dog blog stardom! When she started the blog it was pretty slow going, but by the time she passed away, she had almost ten thousand views a month! Emma left her empire to me to run. It’s been a big project, but I’m doing my best.
The first blog post was published on November 8, 2011, by Emma. I heard it was rather tough going with only a handful of people reading her posts the first year or so. Still, it was Emma’s passion, and with her determination, she finally succeeded in becoming a fairly well known dog blog. So many things changed for the better because of the blog. The biggest change is our food and treats. Milk-Bones and other doggy junk foods have been banned from our house, and even our meals have gotten very healthy with Dr. Harveys.
In some ways the blog has made a circle of a journey. The beginning was all about Emma and what she was up to. Once she hooked up with BlogPaws, she started working with all sorts of companies doing product reviews. After BlogPaws fell apart in mid-2018, things started to change. Now we don’t do much with reviews or companies, but we are back focusing on what we are up to. Our focus is a healthy lifestyle, and our sports. The only reason we do dog sports is because we learned about it through other bloggers. Hopefully others can find new things through us so we are returning the favor.
Bailie is not a lot of help when it comes to blogging. She is always doing her thing, and marching to her own drummer. We love her to death, but doing what she is supposed to do is not really her thing. If you would like some facts about our blog, Bailie did manage to dig up a few. The top five visiting countries are USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and France. We have 50,165 post comments. The most popular post of all time is 5 Reasons To Give Your Dog Marrow Bones. My GBGV Life has had three faces over the years. Emma started the blog as a free website, then changed to self hosted and had a web person design the site for her. Last spring we did a makeover because we wanted a fresh look with larger photos.
Olivia, like Bailie and me, is growing up in the blogging world, so she fits right in. It is rather sad that so many of our blogging friends have either quit blogging now, cut way back, or have passed away. The pet blogging community is a wonderful online place, but it is also changing a lot. We do miss the way it was a couple years ago.
Cheers to our Blogiversary Day, and another fun year of adventures…who knows where it will all end up! It’s hard to believe this is now year nine, especially since I am only three! Thank you to all of you for being our friends, and for coming by to visit us and our blog. We hope you all are having a good time, smiling, laughing, and maybe learning something now and then. GBGV hugs!
9 years…. and we remember so much posts as if it was yesterday… it is great to know you and we are happy to know you for such a long time…and we hope for wonderful posts and photos for the next 9… or better 99 years!
We feel like we have known you boys forever too. Happy blogging.
Wow! Mom thinks she has been following you all for about 6 years?? could that be? She started following you while we lived in Denver. She doesn’t even remember how she found you. She does know that she found Emma to be funny right from the start. And, she appreciated the recommended food, ways to keep walking and exercising fun, and super funny pictures. That hasn’t changed! We are all impressed that you are three years old and running an empire! Happy blogiversary!! have a great day. your friend Lilly
Mom says she thinks you found us through Groovy Goldendoodles, but she is not sure. She does remember you lived in Denver. You have been good friends for quite a while for sure, and we love having you all as our buddies through great and tough times. Happy Friday!
Congratulations. I look forward to reading each day and it is the only blog I follow. You make my day happier.
Thank you. The world needs more happiness, and that is our goal. You have been a great online friend for many years, and we appreciate you, Hugs!

That’s a long time to be blogging. I’m happy I found you.
I always love all the shots of your pups. You work hard to get them in their best light.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to all the pups. ♥
Mom remembers the 1 year blogiversary and being astounded at people who had done it for a couple years. To be starting the 9th is just crazy! We are happy we found you too. Don’t even know how we found your blog, but it was a good thing.
Happy Blogiversary! We love reading your blog every day. Mom says she and Maggie were here for several years before I arrived, and since I will be (oh my dog!) six this month…well…she has been here almost the whole blog. Have a wonderful weekend, XOXO, Sparkle
That is awesome! Bailie says six is not bad at all. She feels just as crazy as ever being six. Thank you to your mom and all the pups for being longtime fans.
Happy Biodiversity day! 9 years. Wow! Mom doesn’t remember when we first started following you, but it was pretty early on – I think many 8 years ago? I wasn’t even born yet. We have learned so much and laughed so much everyday because of your blogging. Keep up the good work. Elbe
Thank you. I think some GBGV people started earlier than others just because of our breed. Mom is glad she got to meet you in person once. Most of our fans we never get to meet.
9 years of greatness!
Awww, thanks!
Happy Blogoversary sweet friends! We’ve been with you from the start and through the happy and sad times. Your blog is amazing and you always bring the best smiles!!!
Thank you! We love you kitties and all you do too.
I don’t remember how long I have been reading your blog….maybe 3 or 4? I think I started following the blog after I read Emma’s book!
Her book came out in 2013, so that would make it about 5 years 🙂
Happy 9th Blogiversary, girls! We love your blog!
Thank you. It’s amazing how time flies!
Congratulations on 8 successful years! You have been one of our longest-time blog friends and are still one of the blogs I most admire. The fact that you keep blogging 5 days/week with all you and your Mom have going on amazes me. Emma started something wonderful and we are so happy that you all keep it going even without her. Here’s to many more years and rolling with the changes. ♥
A lot of the changes make us sad, but we still love what we do, so we keep on doing it. It’s not always easy keeping all the balls up in the air, but we do our best. Bailie says she enjoyed meeting you when you were at BlogPaws. Hopefully you and your blog will keep on rolling too.
Well, well, GOOD JOB one and all. Just sorry we missed the first eight years cause it means we sure missed a whole lot …
There has been a lot of change in the past years, even just since I came to live here, but we love what we do, so we keep on going.
Happy Blogiversary gals! I love your blog and look forward to reading your stories for years to come!
Have a great weekend!!!
Thank you for being a friend. We hope to keep things running for quite a while.
A very Happy Blogiversary girls!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Thanks, you guys!
Happy Blogoversary – and m any more !
We hope for many more!
I love your blog, seeing the photos of the girls, and learning about the breed. They always look so cute. I wanted to adopt a BGBV or PGBV. After BJ died, when I was ready to adopt, I scoured all of the shelters to find one to adopt. No luck. After six months, I adopted Duncan.
As long as you have a dog you love, that is all that matters 🙂
Congratulations!!! We love y’all and are so proud of another milestone for y’all.
It’s a lot of writing, photos, and work but we all love doing it.
You are a year ahead of Dakota and a year behind Cody! Happy Blogoversary!!!
We knew you have been around for quite a while too. Amazing isn’t it?
We started following when you were somewhere over the pond. We always read your blogs they are so fun and we need that right now. Congratulations on 9 yrs. The very sad and the exciting and happy. I haven’t been able to get back in the groove since I lost Mica but I hope I will sometime soon. We really loved writing them but too many things happened at once. I will say Skylar is extremely dominant more than anyone I have had before an a lot of work. Hope you keep writing for a long time we really love you.
Thank you. We have missed you as you slowly slipped out of blogging, but when you lose one you love, it is very hard to keep going, and then changes happen, and you know. Thankfully we have kept it going. Mom knew Emma would have been disappointed if the blog ended when her life ended. She loved it so, doing all the fun stuff and photos. We all love it too, but it isn’t always easy. It really has to be something you love to succeed and keep it up. Hope you are back soon.
I’m not even sure how long we’ve been following y’all…I just know it’s been a long time. Our Callie and Shadow were still young adults and Ducky wasn’t here yet.
But we’ve been here through ups n downs, good and not-so-good. We love you girls and your Mom, and Emma and Katie will always have a special place in our hearts, too.
Mom feels bad sometimes because she loved Katie so much but she wasn’t as sad. She thinks it is because Katie was not doing well for a long time and she had a lot of time to prepare even though it was awful, she was as ready as one can be. Emma was just so special and so out of the blue we have trouble dealing with it. Sure hope to keep going for a long time and also keep hearing about your pups and how things are coming along especially now with Radar and his treatments.
Congratulations on 9 pawsitive years. Here’s to the next 9!
Thank you. We sometimes wonder how long it will go on. We don’t see an end, but so many bloggers have gone away, it makes one think about it.
We want to congratulate you on starting your ninth year of blogging. Very Impressive.
Thank you. It’s crazy it has been that long!
Congratulations on your anniversary! We probably started around the same time, i am just sorry it took me to long to find you!
It’s always fun to find new friends along the blogging road. We are glad we found you too!
Happy Blogoversary! Here’s to many more years.
Thank you.
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous doggo.
We be puppy pals now?
Love, @BarneyUnleashed x
We are puppy pals 🙂
