I got to make a visit to Santa Claus and do some Christmas shopping with my mom yesterday! It was a first for me to do both of those things. That Santa guy kind of creeped me out a bit. Mom thought I should sit on his lap, but I said no way!
Things got a bit better once this clown realized I wasn’t going to be sitting on his lap. On the floor, I caught a whiff of some dog treats which distracted me from my uncomfortable situation. What was my mother thinking anyway? Of course, while I’m scared for my life with this guy, she walks away, and starts taking photos. Crazy!
Finally, I realized this guy was weird but not dangerous, so I relaxed and let Mom get the photo she wanted so we could get away from the whole thing. It sure was stressful! I can’t imagine why other dogs were so excited about it? Mom wanted to take me to the Mall of America to see Santa, but she was afraid I might not like Santa, and last year my sisters waited like three hours. Mom wasn’t into that long wait this year with me.
I got to do some Christmas shopping too. Madison says we need to write our lists for Santa. Now I have some good ideas for my list. We don’t do rawhides at our house, but I found these rawhide things smelled quite interesting.
The big femur bones sure looked amazing! I wonder how many hours of work it would be for me?
Can you believe it? They even have Christmas dog toys! This gingerbread man was pretty cute, and he is also a squeaky toy.
This cart of giant femur bones is my dream! I bet I would be working on one of these for the entire year! Do you think I could even carry it around? These are something I think will go on my list when I write it.
That was it…a visit to Santa Claus, and some Christmas shopping. Honestly, the hustle and bustle really wore me out, and I slept on the way home. At least I have my own photo with Santa on the mantel now, along with my sisters. Has your pup been to see this Santa guy yet this year?

That is such a great picture of you and Santa. I bet that was really scary. Bet you had so much fun smelling all those toys. You all have a really good day.
Smelling the bones was amazing, but Santa, not really what I was into.
oh we would love to go shopping with you!!! sadly we can not see santa, he should come today to Super U but they said the evet is postboned… we thought santa comes with a sled and not with a car…or maybe rudolph drinks diesel too?
I think he flies in for visits and parks the sleigh on the roof?
Good work Olivia! Way to be careful! And heyβ awesome gift ideas!! have a good day your friend Lilly
I think we should all get some jumbo femur bones, don’t you and your brother agree?
Awww, that is such a sweet photo Olivia! Looks like you’re enjoying the holiday.
Mom is trying to make sure I take in everything I can since it is my first Christmas.
You photos with Santa really were wonderful and I’m glad you got to do some shopping!
Thank you. Shopping was really fun, but I didn’t get to buy anything.
Awww, nothing better than visiting Santa. I’m sure you’ll get everything you asked for. Fun place to nose around too. All those wonderful treats and toys.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. My best to your siblings and your wonderful mom. β₯
After I got away from that Santa character, my nose was in high gear and I had a lot of fun.
I love the picture of you sitting in front of Santa’s boots, Olivia. I wouldn’t have wanted to be on his lap either and he wouldn’t have wanted me there! I bet you’ve added even more stuffs to your Christmas list!
I’m not really sure what to put on a list since I have never made one before, but I think my sisters will help me out.
No, I have not ever been to see Santa, and I would be just like you! I am not really fond of strangers as in stranger danger! XOXO, Sparkle
He definitely seemed like a danger to me. I don’t know why Mom wanted me to meet him, but I finally did it just to be done with the whole thing.
Hopefully you will get that femur bone!
I think we will need three so we each have one and there is no arguing over them.
What a fun time you had shopping Olivia and you did a great job posing with Santa!
xoxo,
Rosy
I hope I don’t have to pose with that guy all the time as I don’t really like him very much.
Oh Olivia you had my Mom LOL’ing!!!!!! BEST Santa photos ever! Don’t blame you one bit for wanting to keep your distance from that “clown” BOL! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Thank you. I’m glad you understand. It ws quite the experience, and not really what I had in mind.
Wish I could have been there!
You could have helped me escape from that guy. He was creepy.
We’re glad you let your Mom get at least one good photo for the mantel! Hopefully the shopping fun made up for having to meet the weird guy. Maybe you won’t think he’s so weird if he brings you one of those goodies you found for Christmas! π
I’m really hoping for one of those giant bones!
Awww! Your picture is adorable! We donβt go see Santa but always leave him a little treat for when he stops by the house. Hohoho
We always leave treats for Santa, and a bowl of water and some carrots for his reindeer team.
Such fun traditions your house has! We went to see Santa at our vet three years ago. Santa smelled familiar, but he sure didn’t look familiar! Our vet wasn’t there to watch but Santa was faster than she is, and manage to hold me on his lap and let Chablis be on the floor next to him while another vet, masquerading as an elf, was the photographer. At least we got dog biscuits afterwards from a reindeer receptionist!
Sounds more like our experience last year at the Mall of America. This guy was all by himself.
Santa loves you and would never hurt you, take my word for it. Hope you get enough bones to last the year!
He was just rather scary to me, but I’m just a pup.
Very beautiful santa photo!
It was not easy, but Mom did manage to get a decent shot of me and that guy.
