When winter gives you snow, go wild in it! We are so happy with winter so far – lots of snow and cold, and we hope that trend continues until at least March! I guess we are not very popular because most folks are complaining about the weather, but we love it!
Olivia and I were out in the yard together right after we got another three inches of the beautiful white powder from the sky. It was just Grand! By the way, do you know why there is rarely snow around our pine trees? Evidently, they give off a lot of heat, and that melts the snow. It is also why critters enjoy building nests under the branches.
I was just enjoying the fresh snow and smells around the yard, especially around the trees, but Olivia wanted me to play with her. She can be a real pest if she doesn’t get what she wants! Getting right in one’s face is a favorite way for her to bother Madison and me.
Since I wouldn’t give in to her nonsense, the sassy puppy came out and smacked me right in the face. Actually, her jumbo paw hit me square in my right eye. Luckily I have plenty of eye furs so it I get a black eye, no one will see it. I couldn’t believe she did that!
That pretty much ended my patience, and I decided to chase that little puppy down, and show her who is the boss around here. Do you like my Farah Faucet head furs?
To my surprise, Olivia was right, and chase was a lot of fun! We did a race together from one end of the yard to the other. Go, dogs, go!
At one point, I let my guard down and that stinker tackled me!
Once I regained the upper paw, she took off running. She is smart! I won’t really hurt her, but I pretend like I might to get her to respect me at least a little bit.
After some good romping, we went back in the house. Olivia sacked out in the wicker kennel almost immediately. How nice to have her tired out so the rest of us can have some peace and quiet!
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
How is you eye today. I. Sure she didnβt mean to hurt you. Great pictures. Interesting fact about pine trees.
It’s fine, just took a minute to recover from the huge paw punch.
oh we hope your eye is better and it is not black or blue … snow much fun, that’s probably a common accident while going wild in da snow ;O)
It’s common with Olivia because she loves to use her huge paws to hit things.
Wonderful pictures – Olivia is certainly an untamed spirit!
It’s funny because Olivia and Bailie are very similar in many ways, but Bailie refuses to admit that she can really have fun with her.
Aw, hope your eye is better today! Yes puppies can be very demanding! Ducky can still be very demanding at times even though she’s nearly 8 years old. But that’s okay because we love her just the way she is.
Puppies want everything to be about them and what they want. Olivia needs to start learning to think about others now that she is probably old enough to understand that.
Oh how fun. What a time you’re having romping in the snow. Cute.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. My best to your peeps. β₯
We are all serious snow rompers! Happy Friday!
It is so much fun having a puppy to play with, but I do feel your pain, Bailie! With puppies it is all about ME! I play with little Puffin, and get beat up daily. Have a happy weekend in that beautiful snow. XOXO, Sparkle
They don’t seem to realize that others have needs too. Hopefully she will start figuring that out soon.
I had absolutely no idea about Pine trees…wow that was quite a great piece of trivia.
BOL BOL BOL Olivia is such a wild child she plays hard and (hopefully) sleeps harder.
We are having a pot load of rain here in Dixie
Hugs Cecilia
Rain is not really fun, so we are happy to have snow and more snow. We used to always wonder why the snow disappeared by the pine trees all the time and then Mom stumbled on to the answer one day.
You were really going at it and we enjoyed seeing you have such a blast in that white stuff!
So far this winter is awesome, lots of snow and cold. Hopefully it continues because it is super fun.
We feel your pain, Bailey! (though it gave us some fun shots of both of you – especially Farrah Faucet). Chablis and I are dealing with a 9 week old English setter puppy that we are babysitting for a friend who is very ill. We get tackled all the time, and chewed on. Because I saw her first, I thinks she is my toy. But Chablis wants to romp a bit with her too. JEALOUSY REIGNS! AND… she is not even housebroken… She is a whirling dervish. Three days and even I am worn out. At least she slept through the night last night!
Can’t a guy get some rest???? Elbe
We all slept through the night from day one because Nancy is awesome and has us already trained to get a solid nights sleep. Enjoy the puppy, but be careful, as they are fragile when they are so little. Maybe you can sleep on Sunday, the day of rest?
Puppies can really be crazy to deal with!
They sure can. Bailie can be pretty crazy herself, but she won’t let on if Olivia is around. She tries to be older and uninterested.
those photos are soo joyfun and fun! Love them!
Thank you. We had a blast out there yesterday.
What a pawsome snow zoomie session…and how nice to have worn your sister out!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
I”m with you girls – playing in the snow is SO MUCH FUN! Love all of your pictures!
Too bad you can’t come and play with us. The more the merrier.
Your little sister is definitely the wild one!! I miss seeing dogs play together in the snow, so I really enjoyed seeing you two in action! Our snow is all gone now. π
We got another 2 inches again today. It is wonderful.
You gals sure love your snow. Have fun!
We do, and so does our mom. Bring on more!
Those dogs are cute playing in the snow but I m worried that when winter storm comes, they have to sick with interactive dog toys
Not at our house. We love being out in a good snowstorm. Snow and cold is our time of year.
WOW! You have a star in the middle π Enjoy, sweeties! Warm Pawkisses for a Happy SundayπΎπ½π
We always enjoy winter. It is our favorite time of the year!
Enjoy you play time in the snow. P.S. you can keep the snow. LOL
We will definitely keep our snow and hope for more too π
What incredibly great snow action photos! It looks like the girls had a blast!
As your pups know, racing around in the snow is a lot of fun.
We always watch the weather in your area on the news and say ” We know some pups that are going to be very happy!” Mom whines if it’s in the lowers 40s!
That feels like shorts weather to us these days. We don’t even want to see 30 until March if possible.
