Life with cats is definitely a crazy life for us dogs, and we seem to think it is for our mom too. Cats are such different animals. They never listen, do what they please, and cause a lot of trouble.
Sophie is probably our best cat because she is never around. She spends all day long sleeping, usually in her cat cozy. She gets up for dinner, and then disappears. The problem with her is that she likes to start meowing at 4 am for her breakfast. No matter what time Mom gives her dinner, she wants to eat at 4 am, and none of us are happy about being woken up.
Cousin Bowie is Gramma’s cat. He is pretty nice, but he makes a lot of mess at Gramma’s house. Bowie also loves to yell at Gramma about everything from not getting his food fast enough to Gramma not giving him her food. Maybe that is a boy cat thing wanting all the food?
You all know cat bro Bert is just trouble waiting to happen. There is no way to keep him off the counters in the kitchen. Mom hates that he is always on the counters, and he often steals food. We have tried everything, but he won’t quit.
In the winter, he spends the time when he is not getting into trouble in his kitty cube. I think it is super warm in there for him, and felines like warm. Olivia likes to steal the cushion out of the cube and chew on it so it gets all wet. Bert doesn’t care. He jumps right back onto it when Mom puts it back in the cube.
The fireplace is a favorite winter spot for most of us. Unfortunately, we do have to share it with Bert. Life with cats means sharing the bed at night, the fireplace, our window seat, and many other things. Most of the time the cats are just irritating, but sometimes we do enjoy some nice moments together.
We are joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop held by Comedy Plus.
It is nice of you to let Bert share the fire with you. I think he would whether you wanted him to or not though.
I was lucky that Eric and Flynn never tried to jump onto counters or steal food. We did have them when they were 5 1/2 weeks old though, so they knew from the beginning what was allowed and what wasn’t.
Yeah, Bert was about three when Mom adopted him, and he has always been trouble, but we do kind of like him.
It’s nice to see your feline family and you and Bert do look pretty cozy in front of that wonderful fireplace!
A fireplace is so pawsome in the winter, even if we have to share with a cat.
I am not sure what a cat is. Sophie and Bowie look sweet, but Bert sounds like a catastrophe! Ha ha I made a joke!!! XOXO, Sparkle
No joke, he is a CATasterophe, always, but we are stuck with him.
None of my dogs have ever had feline siblings, so I don’t know about kitty habits other than what I hear and read. One of my aunts had 9 cats whom she allowed to walk on the kitchen counters, table, and dining room table whenever they wanted to. I remember Mom never wanted to eat at their house because of it.
Mom hates it. That cat is on tables, counters, you name it. He was an adult when she adopted him, and she probably will never do that again. Kittens can be taught, but adults are already set in their ways.
What a beautiful line-up of felines! I didn’t know you pups lived with cats, they are not at all like well trained pups are they?
Those cats are not trained at all. Bert does come when called if you shake a treat bag, though.
fun to see the cats! That is quite a collection of colors!
Ours are the gray/white color scheme, but Gramma has the orange one.
Their all fabulous and yes very is a trouble maker the only way to be!
Mom isn’t very amused by Bert, but since he lives here, we all have to deal with him.
Yes cats do what they want, but they are ever so wonderful as family members. Nice to meet all the cats in your world.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Scritches to the kitties and the pups. My best to your mom. β₯
Mom has had cats since she was seven, but this set really has her thinking about ever having cats again. Probably only if they are kittens will she get any more. The adults have too many bad habits.
MOL MOL MOL can you hear me giggling. Sounds to me like the feline siblings are 100% normal.
They do exactly what they want to do, their rule is there is no rule. Angel Madi was a professional counter surfer, love sitting on the table while we ate (but if there was company she never got on the table) but she had enough manners to keep her distance. The only human foods she adored was HAM any kind and she loved boiled eggs. She could hear me cracking them to peel.
Thank you for the lol
Hugs Cecilia
Bert is like a walking garbage disposal! He eats anything and everything, peppers, tomatoes, meat, bread, you name it, he has stolen it.
We have a cat in the house, too! He spends his life in the guest bedroom because he doesn’t want anything to do with us dogs, especially not with Zachary that thinks he might be fun to chase!
Sophie doesn’t like any of us, but Bert always tries to hold his own and we give him some good chases. He punches and bites back too.
Maybe one day I will get to meet a kitty. So far, it hasn’t happened.
You are probably lucky. They are a real pain in the furs for dogs.
Nice to see or your feline family!
I miss having cats, though I think Luke could take them or leave them! He never understood why Sam wouldn’t wrestle with him like a dog! Bert is a character, I love him. He reminds me of our angel cat Katie, who was always into everything and stole the dog’s treats all the time! Sam was pretty much like Sophie in her later years, just quiet, pretty, and sweet!
We don’t know if Mom will get a cat again. Dogs dominate our house, and cats like Bert just seem to cause trouble. I think the mistake was that Mom got these cats as adult cats. If there is ever another cat, it will be a kitten.
Funny, my cats say that life with the dogs is irritating on occasion. Except Enigma SissyCat, of course. She just will not tolerate dogs for any reason. She used to try to fight Meatball, the pit bull that would eat cats.
Anyway, in our house, the cats came first, so the dogs just have to get used to sharing.
Dogs are first at our house, but cat bro Bert stands his ground and is pretty good at beating us all up if need be!
We like seeing kitties along our walks, but don’t know if we would like to live with one.

Most of the time they are just irritating. Now when cat bro Bert steals food off the counter, he is useful as we can grab it from him!
Mom used to have these cats but cannot image having one with us. She doesn’t think we’d be as nice as y’all.
Ask Bert, we wrestle with him, chase him, but he is not afraid to beat us up either.
Ha! Cody does the 4am wake up call too…thankfully he goes to my husband and not to me!
Sophie wakes up everyone, so irritating!
