Doggy spa day is a necessity when we hounds turn into a couple of dirtballs! Tuesday was the day for me and Olivia. Bailie goes next month. Mom takes us on a different schedule because only the owner does our furs. For one groomer, it works better that way. Olivia went to the spa to drop me off twice since she moved in with us, but she never stayed. The spa day is a totally new thing for her!
It’s important to keep the furs clean and stripped as well as just a good trim around certain areas. Mom isn’t really into grooming, and I refuse to cooperate for her. Stripping furs is a lot of work, which is why we land at the spa every three months. Mom said Olivia’s legs looked like legs of a Clydesdale, so she came along to Fancy Paws for a spiffing session with me.
For some reason, I’m always scared when I go to the spa, but I’m well behaved and my person is able to do a great job on my furs and nails. Olivia was a hot mess when it came to the bath and blow dry. Our appointment lasted an extra hour because Olivia had her fur panties tied in such a big knot over the bath and dry! At least now she knows she will survive. At home she lets Mom groom her, but Mom wanted a professional to work on her furs. I must say, she came out looking great!
Neither of us love a doggy spa day, but we do agree it is necessary, and we feel better when we are all cleaned up. This time we got Snoopy Valentines bandanas, which we just love! Look out boys, there are some hot hound chicks ready to hit the streets!
We are joining the Brian’s Home Blog Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Grooming day can be stressful I imagine. I know the cats are not easy to groom, but every groomer I’ve contacted won’t take a cat unless it is comfortable with grooming, can you imagine, honestly!
Our cats would be a nightmare at the groomer!
Clydesdales!!! That’s hilarious. Now you both look fabulous! My brother is funny with grooming. He starts out thinking its an adventure then he realizes he doesn’t like it!! But mom likes us to get groomed so we don’t get shaggy and matted. You’re right- so far we have survived!!! Have a good day — look out boys!!! your friend Lilly
We did both survive, so we will have to go again in a few months. Your brother is silly. We all protest as soon as the car is parked!
You both look bee-you-tee-ful! You clean up good, but you did not look bad before your spa day. I always look so white after my day at the spa. XOXO, Sparkle
Oh, we were really shaggy, and I was super dirty too.
To both look fabulous
Thank you.
We get our baths at home. Mia is a princess poodle so she goes to the groomer every few months. Last month, three of us were matted alot and ended up at the groomer so Zachary got a day alone with Mom running errands. We think he had the better day. although all of us felt so much better being cleaned up.
Emma used to get a lot of matts, but we just need someone with patience to strip our coats and Mom doesn’t like doing it that much.
Our Little Bit loved her spa days. She love the gal that took care of her and that was the ticket. She would just let her do whatever she wanted. What a lovely memory you supplied today. Thank you. I know all pups know it’s a necessary thing to do.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your peeps. ♥
We would love our groomer if she wasn’t at the salon. She is very nice to us, but we don’t like the procedure. Little Bit was such a lucky and happy pup.
You girls both look beautiful and I love your Snoopy Valentine bandanas!
you look fantabulouuuuuus!
We are so excited to have Snoopy Valentines bandanas!
Aw, you girls look beautiful!! Ducky gets her spa days at day care. That way she has playtime on both ends of her spa time.
That is nice for her. We don’t do daycare anymore. Ever since Bailie got the flu before I was even born from daycare, and I also picked up the flu we quit. We had flu shots too, but now we don’t bother with the shots and avoid daycare. The flu is no fun and it means we can’t do our sports so it is huge for us if we get sick.
Spa day gets better for us each time we boys go; but we sure like the vet better!!!. Does that tell you anything? Chablis and Elbe
Olivia and I prefer the vet, Bailie would choose the groomer.
You two look mah-velous! Rosy loves her groomer…but the boyz both get spooked when they go to the groomer too!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
We don’t know why, but we are always scared when we go there. They are nice people, but it is scary.
You do look beautious and it’s over…until next time. Your bandanas are sure pretty. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We now have three months to collect dirt and grow lots of furs.
every 3 months? You’re lucky! I go every 8 to 10 weeks (but then again, my fur is much longer!) Actually, I DO love the spa and am always quite proud when I am freshly groomed! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
3 months is about the max time for me, but Bailie and Olivia could go a bit longer. It’s expensive getting furs hand stripped and it takes a good 4 hours, so three months is good enough for us.
Well, you both look beautiful!
Thank you. We feel shiny clean.
Watch out, boys! You two girls look beautiful. Hopefully Olivia gets more comfortable with the process in time. ♥
Bailie and I haven’t, but maybe Olivia will.
Your groomer always does a beautiful job!
She is amazing!
You look mah-velous!! Pierre always feels great after going to the salon so I’m sure you do too.
The process isn’t something we really like but it does feel good when we are all done.
