A wintry mix is not our idea of ideal weather in the winter, but unfortunately, with the warmer temps this week, it is what we are living with. On the upside, it can be very pretty, but on the downside, it makes for a real mess! Olivia looks nice with some of the snow and ice in her beard furs.
Looking around the yard, we have some interesting sites like our RV birdhouse. We love this thing, and it looks pretty neat covered in snow and ice. The ice hanging off the wheel is fun to look at.
Our squirrel feeder looks nice in snow. Unfortunately, the squirrels are not coming by these days. We hope they come back in the spring so we can chase them.
Then we have Miss Bailie who appears to be the biggest magnet for wet snow. Her beard is pretty full, but we think it looks good.
The real bummer is her leg furs. They are covered in mini-snowballs from the wintry mix snow. She will have to come inside, get a rub down and then defrost.
We have these pretty red berries on some of our trees. They always look so beautiful covered in snow and/or ice. The birds are supposed to eat them, but evidently, they are not hungry because we still have tons of them.
Pine trees always look nice covered in fresh snow. The wet snow is heavy, so the branches lean downward a bit. You can also see the ice droplets that are frozen and mixed in with the snow.
The dried hydrangea flowers are really weighed down with the heavy snow, but they do look interesting.
Last but not least by any means, there is me with my snow beard. I had a really good one going on, but then I shook off right as Mom was going to take my photo. Oh well, I still have some snow left on my mug. Hopefully it will get cold and stay cold soon for about two months so we don’t have this melty, messy, wintry mix, but who knows! Hope your enjoyed our little show.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
I love seeing you snow, snow beards, and snow paws! Snow is really beautiful. Your mom takes such purrfectly pawsome pictures. XOXO, Sparkle PS YOUR mom is the bestest Mom!!!!!
Our mom is photo happy, but we don’t mind too much. Snow is a lot of fun. Hopefully you all are not freezing. We heard on the news that lizards were falling out of trees because it is so cold in Florida.
Love seeing clean white snow. We donβt get much of it in New York.
Clean fresh snow is the best. The dirty stuff looks nasty!
you have an eye for the little things what make photos so special!!!
Little things like me, Madison π Mom loves to take photos and we enjoy being models.
Lots of pretty snow photos. Gail tells me that my predecessor Hamish the Westie use to get snowballs something dreadful. For some reason, my wiry leg furs are not such a snow magnet. Anyway, happy Nature Friday! No snow here in Scotland. Yet.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Wet snow is bad because it sticks to furs, but Bailie seems to get the most snowballs, followed by me and then Olivia. Hope you get some snow.
Very pretty photos.
Thank you.
Olivia…you are stunning w or w/o snow… Bailie BOL BOL loosk like you have on ‘snow’ shoes.
I don’t think I have ever seen an RV bird feeder. Love it
Hugs Cecilia
We love our RV bird house. There is a place not far from us that sells all kinds of fun metal stuff.
That looks lovely, but very very cold.
It is actually too warm, low 30’s. We are hoping it gets colder so it isn’t so wet and messy.
Great shots of all of you. Mom knows her way around a camera.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your smart mom. β₯
Our late sister Emma was Mom’s inspiration and how she started to learn more and more about photography. She is constantly improving, and loves taking photos.
Everything looks so much prettier with snow on it except for our leg furs. Those mini-snowballs are a real pain.
The mini snowballs are terrible!
Those were great photos and you all look happy in the snow…but it did make my whiskers shiver!
I don’t think kitties really enjoy snow and cold, but maybe some do. We haven’t found them yet.
It is looking very pretty there, and you girls all look happy with the snow too. We might get some of that mix this weekend, and who knows what kind of mess that will leave behind. Right now we have good snow cover and it would be nice to just keep that. They are saying warmer than normal temperatures this week, I have a feeling it might stay that way too. It doesn’t need to be that warm, but we are happy to be out of the frigid temperatures we had for a few days – though I know your whole crew loves that! π
It’s depressing being in the 30’s because it is gray and everything is so messy.
We have snow here, too, but not like you have! We still have to get our legs and feet wiped off
We bring a lot of our snow indoors with us for sure.
We do enjoy some beautiful snowfall sometimes. We have been getting just rain so far this winter season. Olivia looks wonderful in the photo with the snow and ice on the beard furs. Thanks for sharing. We hope you have a fantastic upcoming weekend.
Thank you. It is still too warm here. We are hoping it gets cold again soon.
It looks like you had fun no matter whether itβs snow or mix!
We can’t play our chase games now because of the ice on top of the snow, it is not fun to fall through it.
We’ve still never seen real snow, but momma remembers Angel Whitley getting LOTSA snowballs when they lived in Boston.
Yep, snowballs love our furs, unfortunately.
Wow! The pine tree photo looks so pretty. When we had ice storms in Louisiana, pine tree limbs would be dropping everywhere. Your pine looks much hardier. Enjoy playing in the snow.
Pine trees are pretty tough. Other ones sometimes lose limbs with ice storms.
One thing is for sure, wintry mixes are pawfect for nature photos! Thanks for sharing your winter with us…all we seem to be getting is rain…rain..and MORE rain!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Rain is seriously no fun at all! Bummer for you guys.
