Nose work at a haunted house? Count me in! I still have fear issues, but more of big open spaces than small scary ones. No, it doesn’t make sense, but it is the way it is. Hopefully one day the fears will go away so I am like I was a year ago. Last year Bailie got to trial at Hells Gate but this year, I was the one that won the draw!
The trial itself was not really difficult, but there were mental challenges for the humans, and Mom had the challenge of keeping me on task when I was afraid and not searching. We used almost all our time in each search, but Mom says once I am back to my old self, things will speed up. The goal for team pink is always to have fun, find all the hides, and if we are fast or not doesn’t matter.
Our day started with two exterior searches. One was the area Bailie searched last year, the other was a weird alter like place in a small wooded area. After these two searches, Mom was not a happy camper. We don’t know how many hides there are until the end of the day, but I found one in each search. She was sure one search had at least two.
This trial had two interior searches, one was the study, and the other was a topiary room that was totally weird! Mom messed up on the study, but that is alright. We are a team and not always perfect. See all those cobwebs? My beard got tangled in one, that was a mess! Mom let me run the show in the topiary, and I nailed that one!
I also had a container search with sixteen containers in a big U shape. The room was making me nervous, so I ended up needing every last second of my two minutes to find two hides! Vehicles was also interesting with three vehicles including an off road Jeep thing. I found both hides in that search as well.
At the end of the day, I missed the one hide in the woods exterior, and Mom found me a bonus hide in our first interior. The best news is I passed containers and vehicles and earned my titles in both those elements! I also placed eighteen out of thirty five dogs with my score. This is the best trial I have done so far. Team pink is looking forward to more trials and even more success in the coming months! Nose work at a haunted house is sure a lot of fun for me and my mom!
I’m joining Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
congrats congrats!!!! that is a super fabulous place for nose work… and you were so super brave to enter that haunted house!!!
It was a bit weird, but I didn’t mind too much.
WOW! You sure done good, a great big congrats from all of us!
Thank you. I’m very proud of myself.
Congratulations, Madison! The interior search looked quite challenging and your ribbons are so pretty!
The other interior search was even more crazy, but this one my mom messed up, and then I got a fake cobweb in my beard. These things happen, but it was fun.
WOW!!! Huge congrats for both titles! That is some weird place!!! Did they have any dead bodies?? We found a dead squirrel, does that count? Elbe ( aka LB)
Well, while I was waiting for my second interior search in another room, there was a cart with what appeared to be 3 body bags with bodies on it. I sniffed them up real good, but Mom said to just keep it to ourselves.
Way to go! Mom will get in right eventually.
It’s hard having a teammate who has a poor nose! LOL!
You’re a superstar. That’s what I think.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your siblings and your mom. β₯
Have a fun leap weekend!
Look at all those pretty ribbons! Great job, and congratulations on your success, Madison! That certainly looks like a fun and different place to search.
It is fun to search different kinds of places!
Congratulations!! I see lots of ribbons in your future!
I sure hope so.
Congratulations on the titles and the fun. We know that following our noses is always fun. Don’t know why humans like to make up things that scare them.
Humans are strange sometimes but they have us dogs to keep them sane.
Just look art those nice ribbons! What a fun and interesting course.
Go Team Pink!!

It was super fun!
Iβd say that was a great day. Congrats.
It turned out pretty good!
Good job!
Thank you.
Scary work there, but you did so well, congratulations!
It wasn’t too scary since it wasn’t Halloween!
Congratulations!
Thank you.
Stuff that looks scary to us often doesnβt bother animals, so i can see you being afraid of big open spaces and not of so called βhauntedβ stuff.
Congratulations!
You understand where I’m coming from.
