Have you ever heard of a canine love child? Your answer should be yes, because I am one. Today I’m telling the tale of how I came to be. Mom missed Emma terribly and decided at some point in 2019 she would like another GBGV puppy not to replace Emma but to share some of her extra love with. Unfortunately, our breeder was not going to have any litters in 2019. Mom was bummed, but there might be another breeder who would have a pup for her at some point. Of course, I have been told all these things by my sisters and Mom since I wasn’t even created when some of the this happened.
On March 8, 2019, Mom got a Facebook message from our breeder. There were no words, just the above photo. Mom didn’t know what to think so she asked what the photo meant. Well, this is where the canine love child comes in. See, my dog mom was in heat, but her cycle was over,so it was thought. Doughboy, my dog dad, took a fancy to her. Left alone for just seconds, the two of them “got together”.ย Obviously, they were in love, and my litter was the result of their tryst. I was inside this belly, a canine love child! Mom was so excited but had to wait to see if there would be a girl for her in the litter.
On March 25th, she received another Facebook message saying the puppies were coming. She tells me she sat at her computer all night getting messages and photos as my siblings and I were born. I was the second of two girls. Can you believe how small I was when I came out into the world! I think I was the size that one of my paws is now!
Here I was with my siblings once everyone was born. Quite a cute pile of puppies, even if I do say so myself.
Over the first nine weeks of my life Mom received photos at least once a week. Can you believe the first month or so, she was sure she was going to take my sister and not me! Luckily, she figured out I was the better pup. On the day I turned nine weeks old Bailie, Madison, and Mom came to meet me and take me home. Look at what a chubby puppy I was, but I already had my same silly expression.
First I met my new mom. She seemed alright to me, but she fell in love with me immediately. I could tell she would be putty in my jumbo paws!
Before I met my new sisters, my dog dad and I went over to the fenced area they were in to check them out. All of us were quite curious. My dad said they seemed okay, but I was a bit apprehensive.
Next thing I know, I was in the kennel with Bailie and Madison. Neither of them seemed to be very interested in me, but I figured in time I would grow on them. As you know Madison and I are besties. Bailie is still not wild about me, but she tolerates me.
Before loading up the car and heading seven hours north, I had a few last moments with my dog mom. She seemed to be happy to have one less puppy to care for, so it wasn’t a sad thing.
Next it was off to the car, and the beginning of a new life for this canine love child.

It was meant to be. What a lovely story.
Thank you. Mom says it was meant to be too.
Canine love child!! How wonderful. Happy birthday week!!!! (I was the only puppy my sister Lilly didnโt growl at!)
But I bet she does growl at you or look at you with a mean glare sometimes, doesn’t she? My sisters do that when I push too many buttons.
That really was the perfect beginning and your journey home was super special!
I don’t remember a lot of it, but I’m lucky to have photos and the story from my mom and sisters.
a foto can say more than all words and your mom listened and her neart answered … with bringung you home! yay!
Mom was so happy when she heard there were going to be puppies and then when two girls were born. We are all lucky to have each other.
What a beautiful story! You were meant to be for your Mom ans sisters!
I think so too. Mom needs a dog like me that is sports crazy.
The best part was mom falling in love with you immediately. I can see why.
Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday. My best to your siblings and your peeps. โฅ
Awww, thank you. I think my soft, huge paws got her quickly.
What a LOVEly tail! Your doggy mom looks like…ME! That was a great documantation. XOXO, Sparkle
Mom is pretty good about getting photos of almost everything, and then I have the story from my sisters and my mom. Emma’s mom in England looked a lot like my mom, and I guess you too ๐
What a loving story, you are extra special and very lucky to have been loved since before you were born by such a good Dog Mom!
I have a great family and am a really happy puppy!
What a wonderful story, Olivia! You were definitely meant to be with your new Mom and sisters! โฅ
I think so too.
What a sweet story! Our Female Human is missing Angel Tucker and often wonders if she should look for a cross-eyed feline to bring into our home. Your story reminds us that it’s always better to wait until you know the time is right.

Yes, my mom says she always knows when the time is right. For some it may take a long time, for some it may happen right away.
This was just so wonderful to read your story. We just love the group of you and your siblings while you were puppies. Olivia, you are one lucky one. Thanks for sharing this lovely story. We hope your birthday week is going to be a blast. Have fun.
Thank you. I always do my best to have a lot of fun.
You were the MOST adorable puppy, Olivia. We love that photo of you and your momโฅ
Thank you. I guess I was pretty cute, but Mom still finds me adorable.
What a great birthday story you have!
Thank you. I love it when I cuddle with my mom and she tells it to me.
What a origin story you have Olivia…a love child for sure!!!

Mom has always known I was meant to be in her family.
you are a beautiful, smart, adorable love child. what a great story.
Thank you. I’m a very lucky pup.
One special girl!!
Mom tells me I am, so it must be true.
You were just what your mom needed and I believe Emma had a paw in you being a “love child” to help her be happy again.
I was definitely put here for a reason. Mom is still sad a lot about Emma, but we try our best to keep her happy.
A “Love Story” canine style. ๐
That is right ๐
