Saturday, we took a springtime walk at Cleary Lake Regional Park. It was super crowded, but we really wanted to go there. Normally we avoid such places on weekends, but not this time. Luckily there was a lot of space to spread out and pass people to keep social distancing rules in place.
It was the day before Easter and the Easter snowstorm. The temperature was in the low sixties and it felt so hot to us! Before we went for our walk, we stopped at a deserted park to practice some nose work. A walk after makes for a nice reward.
We didn’t take many photos because there were so many people and dogs around it was hard to find a quiet spot for a nice picture. The trail we took was 3.35 miles long and we did that in just over an hour. Mom likes to walk fast. Swimming would have been nice, but Mom said no swimming…bummer.
Sometimes we went off the beaten path into the woods for some shade which felt really nice! We all agree that we need to come back here for a walk on a weekday after the lockdown is lifted so there won’t be so many people. The Cleary Lake Dog Park is right here too, and we always enjoy going there.
Along the route there were a lot of benches to take a rest on, but most of them were in the sun.
Here is a photo of the trails they have. Naturally, we took the big, long one all the way around the lake. It was a lot of fun, and we both crashed out when we got home! Can’t wait to do it again in the future when it isn’t so busy.
Weβre joining Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
Oh my what a beautiful park to enjoy at your leisure…thanks for including the map too. Sometimes I get a trail map photo but it is never as Clear(y) as yours.
Ladies I’m pretty sure if I looked up Extra happy your two faces would the beside the word. What great smiles
Hugs cecilia
We always love being out and about, and a new place to explore is extra fun.
Beautiful park. Must have been lovely.
A bit too crowded, but we still had a fun time.
oh a walk in the park… we miss this events… but we hope soon we can do long walks through all forests and parks
We are lucky that hasn’t been taken away from us. Americans are not good at following rules, so it probably wouldn’t work very well anyway.
Your park is just beautiful and you took lovely pictures, girls.
Thank you. It was a fun outing.
I’m glad you got to have a nice fun out n’ about at the park!
It is a place Mom has wanted to visit for years and years, but never did until now.
I think you were practicing tongue out Saturday, Madison! I would have included Olivia, but she had her mouth closed in one photo. Have a happy weekend. π XOXO, Sparkle
I love to let my tongue hang all the way out when I’m too warm. Because I’m so short, I get hot a lot more than my sisters do.
Lovely park and you are lucky to be able to go to the park right now. Most of our parks near us are closed to people. We hope they will open up soon.
We are glad that is not the case here. It’s bad enough having no dog sports, but no parks might put us over the edge!
Luckily I live in a somewhat secluded area so we can walk and rarely see the neighbors. (most of them like to drive!) Have a good weekend everyone!!
Nice days in the spring are always a nightmare because people who never go out are out, but normally after a couple weeks they quit going out again. We are hoping that will be the case again this year. Peace and quiet is much nicer.
I would have enjoyed going with you. That way I could have loved on you a bit. Just saying.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Oh boy! We so love snuggling, cuddling, and hugging. That sure would be fun!
Thanks for taking us on your walk. It is a lovely place.
Lots of bike riders on the trail…just saying…in case you take a wrong turn in Texas and find yourself in Minnesota. We have tons of biking and hiking trails.
You girls have all the fun! But thanks for sharing it with us guys.

Mom loves to do stuff with us and we are happy about it too!
What a nice walk girls!! We also try to stay away from parks around here once the nice weather sets in..But sometimes you just have to take a chance!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Usually the crowds only last a few weeks and then we never see all these people until next spring. Hopefully that will be the case again this year.
Itβs beautiful, but iβm with you, i want more shade!
The sun is hot but when you are short like I am, the heat comes up from the asphalt and that is what is really rough.
We can’t believe you had 60’s one day, and snow the next! Oh, well, I guess we can, since we’ve had that same crazy weather! We haven’t seen 60’s for a few days now (we know we like it better than you do!), but tomorrow we are supposed to.
That looks like a very nice long walk, and we hope you can get back there to enjoy it again when it’s not so crowded!
The weather is definitely crazy. We knew we might get a little snow, but the 7 inches followed by 3 days in the 30’s was a surprise. We didn’t mind it at all, though.
How nice that you were able to get outside for a walk at the park! You two are adorable! π
Yes, we had a really long walk, this was just a stop along the way.
You gals take some really nice photos.
Thank you.
