In an upside down world, smile for puppies! Good idea, right? We were thinking of something uplifting to post and realized it is Throwback Thursday. Each of us chose a photo of ourselves from our first year of life in the month of May. Some of us were younger or older than others, but it is kind of fun to look back. Above is me, Madison, at nine months old.
Our late sister Katie was born in Germany, and lived there for the first five years of her life. At eleven months old, she lived in Bavaria, in a tiny farm town called Bernbach, just outside of Kempten im Allgรคu. Most of her life she weighed in at seventy eight pounds, so at eleven months, she was a big girl already. She looks pretty in a beautiful field of dandelions.
Dear Emma, born and lived in England her first nine weeks of life, then moved to Germany where she lived until she was ten months old. It is kind of amazing how fancy she looks. Her furs were super long and soft which looks great, but Mom says was a grooming nightmare. She really looks different from the Emma I knew for two years of my life. In this photo she was eight months old.
Bailie has been a goofy girl since day one, at least that is what I am told. From the photos I have seen, I believe it to be true. I guess this is her first lawn mowing experience where she turned green. Bails was eleven months old in this photo, but she still has a real puppy dog face.
Next we come to me, Madison. I look much cleaner than I am right now, and my black was a lot deeper in color. At nine months old, I look fairly grown up I think. Actually, the photo doesn’t look a lot different from how I look now.
Last, we have the family baby, Olivia. She was just seven weeks old last year in May, her first year of life! We were two weeks away from meeting her and bringing her home. It’s really hard to believe how grown up she is a year later. Mom wishes we would all stay puppies for a couple years instead of months, but she loves us at any age.
We are all thankful for a great home to grow up in, filled with loads of love, fun, food, and shelter. Not every pup has those things. Do you smile for puppies? Even I do, as you can see in my photo!
My GBGV Life is joining Brianโs Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
You were all such cute puppies and elegance adults!
Awww, thank you. Olivia is still working on elegant. The little big one still trips over her ears a lot and tumbles over!
we love the fabulous green fur of Bailie!!! and you lived on two different continents, how amazing is that?
Emma did. England, Germany, then the USA. She was well traveled and always howled with a bit of a British accent.
You gals have the best home.
We are happy here almost all the time.
Such a wonderful series of photos and yes, puppies do make us smile and you girls always do! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
So do your kittens ๐
What a pawsome trip down puppy memory lane. Your mom has a wonderful library of photos of her babies. Today is my sister Puffin’s one year anniversary being my sister (and a member of my household!) XOXO, Sparkle
Congratulations! Are you doing anything special to celebrate? Olivia has her one year in thirteen days.
We have some cuppy cakes to celebrate Puffin’s anniversary! XOXO
Nice ๐
Puppy pictures always do bring a smile. We are all really still puppies at heart.
Oh yes, the puppy makes appearances in all of us from time to time.
What a lovely smiling trip down memory lane! Thank you for sharing!
We wanted to spread some happy in this crazy world.
seeing the puppy photos was lots and lots of fun! Especially the “green” one!!
That is our crazy Bailie. She has matured, but still is a wild child much of the time.
We love all of your puppy pictures and we also love your green feets, Bailieโบ
Purple girl with green paws is a problem, but the color doesn’t last long.
Beautiful memories and one cute upside down pup!
I still spend a lot of time upside down. Rolling around in the grass on my back is a favorite activity.
Wonderful pictures! I agree with your Mom, I wish the puppy stage would last longer!
So many people dread getting a puppy because it is so much work, but Mom just loves the little ones. She blinks for a moment and suddenly the puppy is a year old.
I’m thankful I found you and your mom. You’ve all brought me such great joy.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. My best to your mom. โฅ
Oh, yes, we smile from ear to ear..how could we not, you’re all so awwdorably cute๐ธPawkisses for a Happy Thursday to you all. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie๐๐พ๐ฝ๐
Thank you. Hope you are staying safe too.
Of course I smile for puppies, I smile for grown-up dogs too! Cheers and hugs!
We smile for dogs and puppies too, but puppies and kittens make extra smiley moments.
What adorable puppies, and what big smiles Mama has!!

Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Lots of smiles for puppies when we look back at photos.
Same with children, i wish the amount of growing they do in one year could be spread over two, they are just so sweet when they are little. You love them when they are big, too.
You are all beautiful!
We are loved more and more as we grow older because the bond grows, but those puppy times are so special.
Puppies are definitely worth smiling for!
We think baby anything really makes everyone smile.
Kempton? One of my favorite places in Bavaria! ๐ฉ๐ช
Ha! Yes, Mom worked for the city there for I guess a year or two at the IT help desk part time, but she lived in the tiny town of Bernbach. She says Bavaria is pretty, but the people were not very nice to outsiders who wanted to live there.
