Flowers seem to be off to a slow start this year. We had frosty mornings three or four times in the past week. Most of the buds we showed you last week are still buds. The forecast is for warm weather from here on out, so we expect the flowers to really pop in the coming days! Our deck flowers are finally outside and are adjusting to their new home.
The lilacs are not quite at their peak yet. We are thankful they are not smelly yet because Mom always wants to stop and sniff them on our walks. Humans are so silly.
Our neighbors apple tree has some really pretty blossoms but most are still in the budding stage.
Bailie found that most of the flowers in bloom are the dandelions. She thinks they are pretty, Mom says they are weeds.
Yesterday morning it was misting out on Bailie’s walk. She found this pretty flowering tree. We think it might be a cherry tree but we are not sure. No matter, the flowers are beautiful and the water droplets are fun to see.
The spikes in our porch flower pots look nice with the water droplets.
Finally we have our geraniums on the front step. They too are adjusting to their new outdoor spot after spending a week in the garage. With some rain on the way, and warmer weather, we think a week from now it will be real flowery around here!
See you next week, hopefully with more pretty flowers!
Weβre joining Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
Such beautiful flowers for the beautiful puppies.
Thank you. We look good with flowers.
OMG. Madison, that is a BEAUTIFUL picture of you! You just gotta let your mom take time to smell the flowers because humans think they look and smell awesome…except for the weeds! Happy weekend! XOXO, Sparkle
I do look nice, but Olivia wasn’t feeling like photos I guess. It’s hard when humans want to sniff. Such a waste of a dog’s time.
oooh spring is now finally there… and we hope your geraniums will become a wonderful eyecatcher!!
They get tons of sunshine, so they should get really nice.
Dear Bailie and Madison!!
Your mom is multi-talent..an excellent GBGV and photographer..
What gorgeous posies you found today. They look so real I almost want to sniff my monitor
Hugs Cecilia
We are hoping one day to have a scratch and sniff monitor. Wouldn’t that be fun!
Ladies, enjoy the flowers. Did you know that some are really tasty?
Hmmm…we have never tried to eat flowers.
I love lilacs and my lilac bush should be bursting this weekend! Bailie, I too like dandelions – they brighten up a patch of grass on the edge of my woods!!
Mom is hoping for the lilacs to start to stink up the area in a few days. We don’t see the point, but she enjoys them.
Beautiful flowers and you pups are so adorable.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your wonderful mom. β₯
Thank you.
What a lovely garden tour! I’m glad Bailie appreciates dandelions. Tell your mom that the botanical definition if a weed is any plant that was not specifically planted. SO…in a field or dandelions,or mustards, or horseradish, etc, IF a rose shows up, the ROSE is the weed.
Oh my. I think a rose would be offended to be called a weed.
They might be slow but the sure are pretty, and so are you girls!
Thank you. Everything will blossom soon.
You found beautiful flowers, girls! My mom can’t wait to bury her nose in a lilac either.
What is it with humans and those smelly flowers. So weird.
sooo pretty! Yeah, the cold weather lingering so late has slowed everything down. I was FINALLY able to plant everything on our balcony today except for my marigold seeds. Hope to start on those tomorrow, waiting for two more planters to come in the mail to plant the rest.
It was a lot of frost, so our flowers had to be in the garage for over a week, but now they are out and will soon thrive.
Beautiful flowers and beautiful pups! You can always count on dandelions if nothing else!
They are the first flowers to bloom, and the last ones to still be alive!
Being allergic to bees I admire the flowers through my friends, so thank you for sharing! Your last puppy pic is adorable! Give him a lil’ treat for me too! Have a great weekend! I love Labradors. My last two were females and black and lived to a very nice old age. Sure is hard to let them go to Rainbow heaven… on both my hubby & I. Charlie is the one we have now & we decided to try a boy this time & he’s just wonderful & very playful & demands affection! He’s just a cutie pie & spoiled I’m afraid, but he does his job and he makes us happy! Have a great day! hugs
It doesn’t matter what size, gender, breed, or anything else as long as the pup makes you happy and he is happy too.
Today is Cold Sophieβs Day, she is the last of the ice saints, so there should be no more frosts after this.
I think we are done with frost now. They say here to never plant before Mother’s Day. Mom wanted a better selection of plants, so she bought them early and let them hang out in the garage for a good week.
You sure found some pretty flowers…You are lucky the lilacs isn’t in full bloom yet. Ours are and Mama is always pausing to sniff them!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Mom did catch a whiff of one Friday night and we had to stop for her to insniffigate, grrr…
Those are some pretty flowers!
Thank you.
What beautifully impressive flowers! I could practically smell the lilacs through the keyboard. Ours are just starting too but I never see that shade around here. Have a lovely weekend enjoying nature.
Here we have white, lavender, and the deep purple ones. They are all pretty, and Mom loves to smell them all!
They may be slow, but when they come they come in full glory. These flowers look pawsome and you do tooπΈPawkisses for a Happy Weekend. Stay Safe Healthy and YourselfieππΎπ½π
Thank you. We are having a huge rain storm today, and then the sun is going to return and have 80 degrees, so the flowers better open for all that!
Still very pretty.
Your flowers look great! Didn’t y’all have snow just a few weeks ago?
Snow was on Easter Sunday, but we had 4 mornings of frost last week.
You are way ahead of us! We’re just happy to finally be seeing some green.
All day yesterday Mom kept saying how awesome it would have been if the rain was snow instead. She despises rain, and we all love the snow, but it stayed rain.
