Yay, quarantine furs are gone! Yesterday, Mom got Olivia and I all excited about going in the car, so we hopped right in, buckled up, and then she said we were going to get our furs done. Oh no! Yes, we were a couple of dirtbags, but we still are not fond of the doggy spa.
Olivia and I normally go about every three months for a good clean up and fur stripping. We were about to make an appointment when the governor shut down everything. Instead of three months, it was six! Of the three of us, I was in the worst shape.
Emma used to have to go to the spa often too. I inherited some of her softer, thicker, Debucher furs. Mom said I would lose a lot of weight at the spa, and she was right. Mom tries to strip my furs at home, but I’m not very patient with her. My chest area is usually the worst and we have to keep it from matting.
Olivia doesn’t look so bad. Her furs are more like Bailie’s and pretty well behaved. She lets Mom work on her sometimes with the stripping tool too.
The worst thing that happens to Olivia is her Clydesdale legs. Her big paws and super hairy legs look just like those horses!
It takes a lot of time and work to strip furs, so we never go more than two at a time. We were at the spa for over four hours as it was, and that is long enough. Olivia is scared, so she gets to go when I go. I feel so much better now that I lost all that old, dirty fur. Even my collar is loose, so Mom had to make it smaller!
All the curls and tangles are gone from my chest area too! Keeping our furs in good order is good for our health, keeping our skin from getting any issues because it is suffocated by too much fur.
Olivia looks great too! She is such a baby, though, making a big fuss at the spa, and then she cries and won’t stop hugging Mom when we get picked up. Hopefully she will grow out of that. There is no doubt Olivia is a real mommy’s girl.
Her chest area also looks better after the full service clean up.
Here we are, two good looking hounds! Now if the trials we are entered in don’t cancel, we will be looking good when we compete. We both feel a lot cooler too, having less of those six month quarantine furs on our bodies! Bailie will be going in about two weeks, and Mom is going about that time as well. Soon, we will all be looking Like our old selves again.
You both look fabulous.
Thank you. The end result is nice, but not fond of the process.
that looks super great!!! and we are glad things come back to normal… just a little bit and step by step ;O)
Getting back to normal is nice.
You girls look beautiful and I know you feel better with less furs too!
We do, and it is much cooler.
I know you girls don’t really like it but I’ll bet your furs feel so much better now. You two sure look pretty!
The process we are not thrilled about, but when it is all done, we are happy.
Beautiful, job well done!
Thank you.
You and Olivia look beautiful! A spa day does wonders for a girl. π Fortunately I never missed a spa day through the ordeal, but my mom sure did! Wow! She looked bad! She was in need of a cut and color, and was the first one in to her stylist the morning they could reopen, She has influence thank goodness. Have a happy weekend. XOXO, Sparkkle
I didn’t mind missing a spa day, but it made this one a lot longer. Now I feel better too. Mom and Bailie go in two weeks.
Looking good. Hubby and I had our haircuts yesterday and it was wonderful. I had a nail appointment today and it was cancelled. Oh well. I rescheduled it for June 17th. I hope that works.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your wonderful mom. β₯
That is Bailie’s birthday. You can have them done in purple for her π
you gals look wonderful!
Thank you.
You two girls look beautiful! We bet your Mom is looking forward to finally getting her hair cut as well, I know I am, but haven’t scheduled a time yet.
For Mom it isn’t so important. She just puts it in a ponytail most of the time, and it is longer now. People with real styles are the ones we feel bad for.
You look like the cool chicks! Well worth the wait at the spa!
It was time for a clean up.
You girls look fur-bulous!!!! Ducky just got her second spa treatment yesterday – bath, nail trim, and a TTouch massage – at daycare, so she is worn out, still, after all that pampering and playl
We could skip the pampering. Mom gives us enough of that at home, but it does feel good to get the dirt out and furs stripped down.
You look beautiful and furresh again and we’re so happy for you that everything is getting back to as-far-as-normal πΊPawkisses for a Happy WeekendπΎπ½π
Slowly but surely returning to normal.
You both are looking so great after your day at the spa. It must feel great now cause of the summer heat will now bother you that much. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos. Have a pawsome upcoming weekend.
We do feel good. You have a fun weekend!
Looking good girls!! Rosy groomer opens up in a couple of weeks, and she can’t wait!
As always, we don’t want to go, but we feel great when we are done!
Oh my goodness you look beautiful!! I donβt have an appointment for three weeks. Yikes. My brother was groomed at his daycare. He looks skinny but handsome. Nice work girls!!!
Mom says I look a lot smaller because so many furs got stripped out. I’m sure you will feel better too. Bailie goes in just over a week.
Two spiffy looking ladies! Your spa does a great job.
The owner does our furs because no one knows how to groom a GBGV. She is a competitive groomer. Before she agreed to groom Emma years ago, she had to find a breeder to give her tips on how to do it correctly. We are super lucky because she is awesome!
The Boys had their “quarantine” hair removed last week. Now I am headed to buy some clippers from the beauty supply store so Doodle Dad can help me get rid of mine! Have a wonderful weekend ladies
Mom and Bailie are getting their grooming done in about ten days. For Mom it isn’t a big deal since her hair is longer, now it is just longer than before π
You both look ‘wagnificent!’
Thank you.
You both look furbulous! Pierre was one shaggy dude when he went too. Groomers are essential! BOL!
Mostly for me as I have so much excess furs, but Olivia also needed a good clean up and Bailie does too.
