What in the world is under Gramma’s bed? I really want to get under there, but I am too big, and that dust ruffle thing is blocking me. I spent most of my Saturday afternoon just like this photo, waiting patiently, sometimes even crying. But why? What is under there?
Meet Roxy! The cat is out of the bag and under the bed! Many of you have asked if Gramma would get another cat after losing cousin Bowie. The answer is yes! Roxy is her new kitty, and she happens to be hiding from me because she has never been around dogs. All I want to do is sniff her, and meet her, but she isn’t interested. I did put my nose in there once and she hit me with her paw and I screamed.
Gramma wasn’t sure about another kitty, but it was rather lonely without Bowie. She looked around online and came across Roxy, a four year old kitty. Roxy looked cute, and she felt sorry for her as her owner died in November and since then she had been with Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue. Mom set up some teleconferencing, and everyone decided Roxy could live with Gramma. On May 19th, Mom picked her up and brought her to Gramma’s house.
Roxy is shy, but they told Gramma that from the beginning. She also has no experience with dogs. When she first got out of the carrier, she was checking out her new house. As you can see, she is a bit scared, but a nice kitty, and she hasn’t hissed or growled at anyone.
For the next twelve days, Gramma did not see Roxy at all, but in the night she would eat, and she would meow. Finally last week, Roxy started to warm up to Gramma. She jumps in bed with her, lets Gramma pet her sometimes, and every day she comes out more and more. She is very cute, and we know she and Gramma will become the best of friends in no time now that Roxy is starting to relax. As for me, I’ll be hanging out, trying to get Roxy out from under Gramma’s bed, maybe forever!
Saturday, we set up some scatching posts around the house for Roxy to use, rather than Gramma’s window shades, and we brought her a new toy. One day we will hopefully be able to get some better photos of her, but for now, these are it. We are happy Roxy is warming up to Gramma, and they each have someone to be with.
My GBGV Life joining Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
welcome Roxy!!! how great that you found such a super home with such fab cousins
I’m not sure she is excited about canine cousins, but she will have to adjust to us.
Iβm so happy grandma has a new friend. Hopefully she will be your new friend soon.
We will see how it goes. All we can do is extend a paw and how she doesn’t bite it or something.
Roxy is beautiful, it takes time, but I’m sure those two will be besties!
It’s most important that she gets on well with Gramma.
I am so happy for your Gramma! Your Gramma’s home is the perfect place for Roxy. YAY! XOXO, Sparkle
It really is perfect for her. Real quiet and laid back.
That is great news! I am so happy for your Gramma and Roxy. Roxy is adorable. I wish your Gramma and Roxy wonderful days together!
We hope so too. It seems like Roxy is opening up like a spring flower now.
Oh my a new kitty. So cute she is too. I so remember the days and days in hiding and then you become best of friends. I’m sure we’ll see more of Roxy.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to Roxy and all the pups too. β₯
We all hope she learns to love us, but mainly, she needs to be Gramma’s kitty.
such a pretty cat!
She is cute.
awww Roxy you have a great new home!
If she comes out of hiding, she has big chances to be spoiled rotten!
Roxy is a cutie but it all has to be so confusing for her, losing her human and going to a shelter would be quite a shock. She sounds like she is doing darn good though.
She has had a tough six months, but hopefully she will find the tranquil home with Gramma comforting.
In time everyone will get to know each other.
We have to all be patient.
Wow!! Can you imagine how wild things are for Roxy!! No dogs in her life!!?? She is in for a great treat!! Great post. Welcome Roxy
Thank you, my friends. He life has been a real crazy time for months now, so she needs time to settle in and get used to her new home.
How wonderful that your gramma has a new friend! Roxy is a beautiful kitty!
We are happy for both of them, and that Gramma found her all on her own.
Congratulations to your Gramma and Roxy! I’m sure they will be besties in no time at all. As for you…only time will tell.
Mom says not to plan on her loving us dogs, but who knows.
Roxy you and Gramma are together and that is the most important thing now ! There will be plenty of time to adjust to more family !
She has a lot of time to adjust. Everyone just has to be patient.
Hooray for Gramma and Roxie! They will make a great pair, since Gramma is so patient.
Maybe someday she can get Roxie to even warm up to a dog, but give her lots of time and loving for that to happen.
We are happy for Gramma. Mom says we will continue to visit, but only one at a time so it isn’t so overwhelming for Roxy.
What a cute little kitty Roxy is, we bet her and your Gramma become the best of friends!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
We sure hope so.
Aww, welcome sweet Roxy. We hope she will learn to accept your sweet girls as well as loving from peeps.
She is taking her time, but getting more brave about coming out every day.
