We had a fun and spontaneous doggy playdate with our neighbor dog, Summer, last Sunday. The weather wasn’t so hot, and there was a nice breeze, so we invited her over to play in our fenced yard.
Summer is just a couple months older than Olivia and she has been over to play before. The only downside is that she is one of those tennis ball crazed types. We just chase her anyway and have fun.. She is a really beautiful girl, not a shaggy mess like me and my sisters!
For some reason, Olivia is always a bit shy at firs., She approached Summer carefully, using our tree for protection.
I was not a real gracious host because I stole her Frisbee the moment she got here and would not let her have it. Seriously, she has tennis balls, why can’t I have the Frisbee?
Summer is smart and realized I was keeping the Frisbee, so she went off running after tennis balls.
Olivia tried hard to understand why tennis balls are so important, but we are still in the dark on that one. Chase and wrestle is so much more fun!
The two youngsters took a lap or two around the yard, but that was it really for racing. It was still warm out, and we preferred to hang out under the big Birch tree. Summer didn’t stay too long since we weren’t really playing much but it was still a fun doggy playdate. We will have her visit again when it isn’t so hot. Friends are something to be thankful for, even if we don’t play a lot. Any doggy playdate is a fun time in our opinion!

Always. I’ve to have friends over for a play date even if they have different interests.
We will never understand the fascination with tennis balls, but we can at least chase the dog chasing the ball!

I totally understand Summer’s obsession with tennis balls because I am one of those tennis ball crazed types!
Mom had one of those types with her first dog, but since then, no one has had any interest. It means more tennis balls for those of you who love them.

We have never seen her wrestle, but she doesn’t mind if we chase after her.
Meowza that looks like a fun play date. We feines don’t play so well with others outside our tribe and, if The Female Human let us out to play in the yard we would high tail it to some other place in the neighborhood.
