Once a dirtball, always a dirtball is what Mom said to us yesterday. You see, we had a spa day on Tuesday. We were both pretty dirty and shaggy, but I was especially a mess. Because I’m short, I manage to attract more dirt, I guess. If you are wondering, Bailie will get her spa day in a few weeks. Our spa lady can only handle so much GBGV in a day. Stripping furs is hard work. The above photo is our before the spa photo.
We spent about three hours getting bathed and having our furs tamed. It is a tiring process for us too, and Olivia always wants her mommy who isn’t there with us. Our spa lady told Mom that I am a princess at the spa. Very spoiled, and difficult, but she manages to work on me anyway. What do you think? Don’t we look fabulous? Mom says they must have bleach in our bath water!
I usually look the most different since my furs get so ratty looking after a couple months. Before the spa, my eyes were pretty buried in facial furs, but now you can see them again. I don’t like the process, but I will admit I feel much better.
Olivia has furs more like Bailie, so she doesn’t look as different as I do after a spa day. Mom says her freckles come back out and that is her favorite part about Olivia after the spa. She also gets those Clydesdale looking leg furs that need to be tamed.
Unfortunately, hounds are dirtballs. Yesterday it rained most of the day, and we went out in the yard. Well, we didn’t just go out in the yard, we played chase and hide under the big pine trees. No more clean girls. Our legs were covered in dirt and mud. Mom was not happy, but she knows we were just having fun. Being spiffed was nice, but life gets in the way, and we have realized we are destined to be dirtballs. We’re thankful Mom lets us play and make a mess of ourselves, even after a spa day.

I get this. Our Little Bit was always getting dirty. We let her enjoy herself and gave her a bath if she needed one. It was a good thing she liked baths.

We are not keen on baths, and it is a major project, but usually when we get dry, the dirt just falls on the floor and we are clean again.

She doesn’t mind too much, but usually she likes us to stay clean for her to enjoy for a few days. Didn’t happen this time.

Do you think they use oxy clean on us or something? Mom can never get us that shiny white at home, but of course, we are not very cooperative in the tub.
We dont get quite as dirty due to cats not liking wet and mud but some of us do need spa days to nip their long furs. You both looks so good, for a bit, MOL

Well – you did look nice and clean and fluffy but dirt and mud does happen.
It’s been super cold and rainy all week, so dirt was to be expected. Most of it dried up and fell off on the floor.

No, we go to the spa about every three months. The dirt mostly dried up and fell off.

She loves clean and orderly, but with us, that isn’t going to happen, so she enjoys the pristine while it lasts but loves us as dirtballs as well.

We always need brushing or cleaning, but it’s alright. The spa does the deep cleaning, the rest is up to Mom.
