Remember the fall dog safety tips y’all! Fall is a great time of year. Everyone loves the cooler weather, beautiful leaves, pumpkin spiced everything, apple orchards and more. Dogs love this season too, and we often have more energy which means we may be more likely to find trouble.
Fall is a great time to get out and walk with your dog. She will love all the fall smells in the air and on the ground, and you can enjoy the beautiful leaves. With cooler weather, you will both be able to take longer walks too!
Despite being a wonderful season, fall does have some dangers, especially for dogs. Many people think that ticks are gone with the cooler weather, but this is false. Keep up on your dogs flea and tick prevention and checks. Ticks may not be as active as in other times of the year, but they are still out and about.
Darkness is a big danger for both you and your dog. Days are getting shorter, and chances are you will end up walking in the dark at least now and then. Remember to have your human dress in bright clothing and if possible wear reflectors or small lights. Decorate your pup with a pretty glowing necklace to make sure she is seen. We love our necklaces and even in the yard, Mom enjoys watching us run around while lit up.
Pumpkin spiced everything is the trend, but keep it away from your pup! spices such as clove, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon can be dangerous for dogs. If your dog loves pumpkin, give her plain pumpkin only.
Halloween candy is already out, and this time of year drives people to comfort foods like chocolate. Remember chocolate is poisonous for dogs. Be safe, and keep candy out of reach, or locked up in a dog proof container. Watch out for discarded wrappers too.
Most dogs enjoy eating apples just as humans do, and many orchards are dog friendly. Keep in mind to not let your dog eat the core containing the seeds. If she gets a few seeds, things will probably be fine, but apple seeds contain cyanide and should really not be ingested by dogs at all.
Today is the first day of fall, y’all! We are super happy about it at our house! Follow these fall dog safety tips to ensure you and your dog have a wonderful and safe season! Do you have any other good fall dog safety tips?
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
we will follow da fall rules… even when that acorns look very tasty… we rather leave them to the wild boars and eat da canned boars instead..
We like to pick them up, but Mom doesn’t like us to do that.
You pose so pretty with a big ole sunflower. I keep saying I want to plant a bunch of sunflowers every spring/summer but never get around to doing it. I’d love to have a garden full of them. I’ve seen a few people in our area who do that and it’s such a cheery sight. Oh good heavens, apple seeds contain cyanide? Is it dangerous for humans to digest? Happy first day of fall. Stay safe and be well, little furriends!
Mom says she used to go to the pick your own sunflower fields in Germany when she lived there and it was so pretty!
I love the picture with the tree. It looks like a Wegman
It’s the only red tree in that area too, so it sticks out nicely.
We are ready for Fall.
Bring on the cool temps and comfort food, right?
I’ll bet you do have fun romping around in the leaves, but yes, be safe…always!
Lots of things that seem fun could be dangerous, so a girl has to be careful.
Here in Florida we have Summer, Summer, Hurricane season, and Summer. Sometimes we have a spritz of cooler weather, and sometimes it actually gets cold! It usually does not last very long. Happy Fall! XOXO, Sparkle
Not a good climate for our family, but many humans and dogs like it, at least the summer part.
Safety first is our motto too. I love all the warm colors of fall and romping round in the fallen leaves is grand fun.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your wonderful and smart mom. β₯
Hopefully we will get a big pile to play in again this year.
Mom discovered a tick crawling on her face yesterday. She thinks she got it from kissing me!
That would probably be what happened. Why do those rotten things exist anyway?
Safety first is our motto!!! NO chocolate or other candy. NO peanut butter candy even!!! No human cookies. Bailie, you are the best for Fall color!
Chablis
Thank you. We have lots of our own treats and cookies, so we don’t mind if Mom keeps some of the others just for her.
Looks to me like you’ve got it covered.
I sure hope so.
Great tips Bailie,
Happy Fall!
Thanks. Happy fall to y’all too!

There are coyote and fox here, but we try to stay away from them.
Those are important reminders. We are looking forward to some cooler temperatures too.
We are having a couple hot days now, but cool is returning on the weekend.
Happy Fall, yβall, and stay safe!
We do our best to stay safe.
