Our Fort Dodge weekend was three days of fun filled, action packed days for people and pups. Our weekend started early Friday when we grabbed Mom’s cousin, and took her along with us to Dayton, Iowa which is just outside Fort Dodge. Mom and her cousin wanted to visit places their ancestors lived after they came over here from Sweden in the 1800’s.
Dayton was the town where most of the history is found. We spent lots of time in the car while they toured homes, farms, cemeteries, and other things. Every now and then we got to get out and walk around a bit. This mural is in “downtown” Dayton. We thought it was pretty cute.
Saturday night, Mom and her cousin went out to dinner without us. We stayed in our hotel room and were good girls. While out, they found this super cool piano. Now we know there are like twenty or more painted old pianos around Fort Dodge, but we had no time to go looking for them. This one is real nice.
Saturday and half of Sunday, we were at the Webster County Fairgrounds for FastCAT and barn hunt. The fun we had there made up for the boredom of being in the car all day on Friday..
It was super windy in Fort Dodge, so we couldn’t pose with our ribbons until we got home. We each had four great FastCAT runs, and my last one was a personal best. I have short legs, but I can run like crazy! It is the last FastCAT for us for this year probably, but we will be back at it in the spring. Olivia had a stellar barn hunt run Saturday and earned a leg in Senior with second place. I earned my seventh Q in Masters on Sunday. All in all our Fort Dodge Weekend was a fast blast. Traveling and doing our sports is always fun and makes us all happy!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
congrats you are simply da best… and what a wonderful place you saw… we love the piano that is a wonderful idea!!!
The piano is really cool!
You girls did pawsome! I love it that you share your trips with us. That Old Boston’s did not look much like my sister, Puffin. Maybe it had a different meaning. I have been acting strange lately. I am very nervous and bark at nothing. Mom is going to take me to my doctor and have me checked out, but maybe we do have fall in Florida and I am reacting to it. XOXO, Sparkle
Hope you are alright. We haven’t had any weird issues this year thankfully. There is enough weird stuff in the world already. Glad you enjoy our trips, we love them.
That was a packed full weekend.
Mom was more worn out than we were on Sunday when we got home!
What a weekend! Huge congrats!!! glad your mom took her cousin with you to witness it! VERY nice pics of this colorful town
It was fun. We love to go to new places and this year we have been to quite a few.
We like those murals but my goodness, look at all of those ribbons! Congrats sweet girls!!!
We are wallpapering our home office with certificates and ribbons. Mom calls it her motivational center!
What a fun weekend you had. I love riding around and finding gems along the way.
Way to go on the hunt. Olivia is going to be a superstar. Mark my words.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the pups. β₯
She is pretty good, but still has a lot to learn. Mom enjoys working with her.
What a great weekend you girls had!
It was so much fun, and so different to have a second human along.
Congratulations, girls! Love that piano!
Isn’t it cool! So very creative.
What a fun journey!! Congrats on all your ribbons!!
It was a lot of travel, but a ton of fun too.
This piano is so original ! Usually I am not so for pianos but this one I would even put in my living room ! At least you had a fun journey !
We don’t get into pianos either, but this one is super special and we love it.
Wahoo to the crew who earned all those pretty ribbons!
Thank you. We had a lot of fun earning them too.
Wow! You two are really racking up the ribbons. Congratulations.
Our motivation room has a lot of bling on the walls now! We are going to try to collect some more this month.
