Gull Lake, in the woods, at the Camp Confidence Learning Center, was the location of my nose work trial last weekend. We were really in the woods, so we only saw the lake from a distance. One fun thing we found was the huge Adirondack chair. We have been finding the jumbo ones for a few years now, so this one is now in our collection.
My searches were all around the main lodge where the fun stuff to photograph is located. Because we aren’t allowed in the area until the trial is over, the sunlight had switched so our photos are not as wonderful as we would like. Emma would be so happy we found the Peanuts up north! Starting back in 2013, Emma posed with Snoopy all around the Twin Cities and eventually with some other Peanuts characters. If you put Snoopy or Peanuts in our search bar, her photos will pop up.
As far as the nose work part of our trip, it was pretty much a bust. I had a lot of fun, but we were not very successful. Our team was not in sync, and I was finding things and not telling Mom about them. Out of six searches, I only passed three. I should have passed four, as I did find the two hides in my first search, but since I wasn’t telling Mom, she was afraid to call them and we got nothing. Back to some more practicing and we will try again.
Olivia was mad as a hornet all day because she was not in the trial. She thinks she should always be the one searching. She also gets in trouble in the car when left alone. Mom hooks her in with her harness all day which she doesn’t like. I’m a good girl and stay in the back seat so I am free. Overall, we still had a great time in the woods up at Gull Lake and hopefully we will get up there again in the future.
Mom says in the future, she will try to read me better and follow her gut so she doesn’t miss opportunities. The quote below is one we stumbled on and like a lot.
“If a window of opportunity appears, donβt pull down the shade.”
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Looks like there was a lot of supersized stuff to sniff there!
We didn’t get to sniff that stuff in the trial, but it was fun for photos later.
You found some really BIG peanut characters so it wasn’t a total bust at all sweeties!
We had a fun road trip and time up north, just disappointing in the competition portion of the weekend.
I’m sorry you had an off day. If you’re not in sync things just don’t happen. You had fun exploring though and that’s a good thing. I know the mom loves you all very much.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. My best to your mom. β₯
We were both frustrated and not working well together at all, but the weekend was still a lot of fun.
Practice makes perfect
True, but sometimes we really get tired of practicing and want some results.
Well, even Mom’s can have off days! But I really like the saying your found. Don’t pull down the shades!
We get our heads back on straight on our drive home and the shades go up again.
You girls look like stuffies in that huge chair and we love you posing with the Peanuts gang!
Next time you will do better.
We can’t do much worse, which is a positive I guess. Hopefully Mom and I can get on the same page.
At least you had some fun with your Mom…AND you got to see some of the Peanut Gang!
We had a lot of good moments, it was just disappointing that we didn’t do well.
Those were lovely photo ops, even if nothing else worked out exactly as planned.
There was a lot of good in the day, even if we bombed at the trial.
