We’re kicking off our tenth year of blogging today! Emma published her first post on November 8th, 2011, and My GBGV Life has been posting regularly ever since making this post number 2248! None of us were even born yet, nor were we even a thought way back then. Now here we are, carrying on Emma’s pride and joy, and having a lot of fun doing so.
A lot has changed with the blog over the years. Emma started her empire with no idea about how things would go, but in the height of her blogging reign, she had around ten thousand views per month which is amazing. She was a paw on Chief Blogging Officer, doing most of the work herself. The above photo was taken of her about a month before she passed away. Emma was always working on her blog and loved it so. Despite having two GBGV sisters, she never let anyone else take the main roll.
Being thrown into the Chief Blogging Officer job at two years old, unexpectedly was not easy, but I did inherit Emma’s work ethic. She knew Bailie wouldn’t ever be able to run the blog, nor would she want to. My approach is much more relaxed, but I still get the job done. Bailie, Olivia, and I all split up the duties of posting and social media. With BlogPaws dissolving, reviews have dwindled to almost zero, so we have changed our format to be more activity oriented. We all do a lot of things making topics pretty easy to come by.
Bailie is one who is always doing the unexpected! Emma was a true chef, a canine Julia Childs, and none of us will ever cook or bake like she did, but Bailie does have interest in kitchen activities. She is more like a clown baker, but she does come up with some tasty creations when she puts her mind to it. One of her goals for this coming year is to post some more recipes, maybe every month or two. I know she has told us about a super cool Thanksgiving idea she is working on for all those pups out there who love turkey. Hopefully she will get that post up and running a week or so before turkey day. Bailie also plans to work more on her sports now that things seem to be improving for her. Maybe 2021 will be her sports year?
Olivia is still the family baby, enjoys playing and all her toys, but she is a serious sports junkie! Mom says Olivia is her dream sports dog. The two of them can’t get enough of sports and competitions. Although she is still finding her complete place on the blog, her main focus is dog sports. Emma started dog sports because of a post she read on another blog, and we hope that some dogs and their humans will also give some sports a try, even just for fun. Sports are a great way to give us pups a mental and physical work out.
As always, the main goal of My GBGV Life even going into our tenth year of blogging is to be a fun and happy place for our online friends to come to. We want to provide inspiration for other dogs and their pet parents to get out and do things together, and to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. It makes us smile when we hear that someone in Norway now does Barn Hunt because of us. It tickles our tummies when dogs try our recipes and love them like we do. We love seeing pups using and loving products we recommend. Thank you to all of our friends and fans for being here with us whether you came by on day one or if today is your first visit. We love you all and send virtual GBGV hugs! Cheers to a successful tenth year! Madison, Bailie, and Olivia
