Meet Shiba Inu Marvel, our cute, adorable, new puppy pal who is about ten weeks old! He came over with his brother Crush to play last Friday. It’s good for puppies to have play dates to get to know other dogs, and I was up for the fun. Being still a bit of a puppy myself, we are a good match.
Bailie doesn’t like puppies much. She went outside to check out Marvel first and had no interest in doing anything with the little cutie. The first chance she got, she headed up the stairs and back into the house.
Marvel brought his big Shiba Inu brother Crush along to the play date. Crush is ten and we think he has a secret “crush” on Madison. We see him at trials a lot and he always manages to get his crate right next to Madison’s.
Madison was the first one to really be interested in Marvel. Unfortunately, she was not a very nice host. She chased him until he tripped over himself, and she barked at him. He was hiding behind things trying to get away from her. Of course, she didn’t mean any harm, but she wanted to be the big boss lady I guess.
Maybe because I’m so young myself, I was very gentle and accommodating with Marvel. It felt right to really take the little fellow under my wing to let him know not to be scared of Madison.
Once I let him know I was there for him, Madison backed off and the three of us began our endless romping around the yard. We played for almost two hours and we all crashed after our friends left.
Marvel really likes me a lot. He wasn’t afraid to jump all over me.
His brother, Crush, had no interest in our fun and retreated to the deck to overlook our nonsense and fun. He should have gone in the house with Bailie now that I think about it.
Marvel doesn’t have steps at home but he wasn’t afraid to try the steps up to our deck. I think it is dangerous for the little guy, so I would run up after him and bring him back down with me.
Being a puppy, he gets out of line sometimes, even with me. To get him back on track, I would give him a gentle little spanking with my giant paws.
We all got back together for another game of wild chase. For a little fellow, he is super fast and his furs are slick too! He is not a guy you can easily hold onto.
Madison came and went with our games. Marvel and I had plenty of fun without her too. Racing around is always fun no matter how many are playing.
I decided to introduce my little Shiba Inu buddy to my pup-a-brewski toy. It is always a favorite! Of course, I didn’t let him actually have it, but he thought it was a nice toy from what he could tell.
We played some more chase together, but honestly, we were all running out of battery power. It was a lot of racing and chasing, but so much fun! Doesn’t Marvel have a cute smile? He is a pretty happy boy!
Our moms then said it was time to end our play date because we all needed a break. I was sad to see my new little friend Marvel leave, but I know we will see him a lot. I gave him one last Olivia hug and sent him on his way. Boy was it a fun time! Thanks for coming over to play, Marvel!

that is super cute! and you even helped him with mastering da steps… you are simply da best!
Mom was impressed with how gentle I was with him and he started to trust me even though I’m much bigger.
What a fun day for you and Marvel.
We all had fun π
what fun!! My little brother loves to play with puppies too. I have never! Its amazing that I get along with my little brother!! That puppy is adorable and looks like he had a GOOD time and probably a big nap!!! Have a great day. your friend Lilly
The long weekend was so fun, but it was also exhausting. We had so much fun racing and chasing, it was great! Bailie was thrilled she could go inside and take a nap to avoid the whole event, LOL! Have a good week.
Shiba Inus are adorable. My brother in law and his wife have one, Howard. He looks just like Crush except he is 10 years old.
Crush and Marvel are quite handsome and I know how very sweet the bred is.
Hugs and have fun with your new buddies.
Cecilia
Howard, that is a great name! Crush is ten years old and really has no interest in other dogs, especially not his new brother, so we will play with Marvel for him.
Fantastic pictures! Your camera woman is really good. That is how Puffin and I play inside and outside. Sometimes I have to put my paw out to calm that little stinker down. Did Madison think she was hiding? Really! You had a really fun play date with your new friend Marvel. XOXO, Sparkle
Madison likes to be bossy and it scared little Marvel, but once Madison did something else, I calmed him down and then we all played really well together. We are not supposed to chase in the house, so we always get sent out the door if we start that. Have fun with Puffin. Hope you are enjoying being seven. Bailie says it is a nice age.
Such a sweet little cutie and what a bundle of energy!
There was a lot of energy around our yard for a couple hours!
What a lovely play date though. A rough start, but it turned out fine. So cute. I love to watch pups play.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the pups. β₯
Madison has to just settle her furry pants down and enjoy playtime. Sometimes she forgets and is simply bossy and Marvel didn’t like that version of her.
Olivia you have a new adorable pal! I love how you hugged him and watched over him.
I’m a huge hugger, so I was hugging him a lot and he seemed to like it.
Great set of images. I saw a GBGV on the National Dog show Thanksgiving day and thought of you. Lucy has a playmate in the neighborhood that she visits from time to time. Like these pups, they run for a couple of hours then retreat to their own homes and crash. Have a blessed week.
Yes, we are in the AKC since for almost three years now, which is nice. Of course, we didn’t win because they don’t know a good hound when they see one, LOL! Glad Lucy has a friend. We are social animals and love to have a pal now and then.
Shiba Inu’s are such smart dogs! Marvel is the same age as Levi. We can’t have Levi playing with dogs yet until he has his last vaccine (Vet’s advice!!) then we will schedule playdates for him, wish you lived by us!
Well, it depends on if you know the dogs and we are always around his brother so it is alright. He is a lot of fun and we would love to chase with Levi if he lived closer too.
Aw, Marvel is a cutie! And Crush is handsome. Glad you girls had a fun play date with your new little friend! Olivia, you are such a good friend to Marvel!
I was super sweet with our neighbor puppy a month or so ago, but I was even more caring with Marvel. He is a nice little fur bundle.
What a good friend an mentor you are Olivia! Those are some darling friends and you girls are beautiful as always. I’m glad the play date was a success.
Thank you. I am a gentle soul and like everyone to feel comfy in their surroundings. He is a very sweet little guy.
You all must have slept well after that play date!
Mom thinks that Marvel is just too cute but I’m with you, Bailie. I”m not much into puppies either but your sisters sure did have fun with him!
Puppies pester and pester, bite, and chew on my stuff, so I’m not a big fan, but my sisters can play with Marvel all they want.
Absolutely LOVE the final photo! So fun to see breed interactions.
I gave him a lot of hugs when we were playing. He seems to like my hugs a lot and I love to hug.
Looks like everyone had fun! Darling photos!
Thank you. We had a great time.
What a nice hostess you were Olivia! We loved watching you, Madison and Marvel romping around the yard!
He can keep up pretty well for a little one. I like him a lot.
Way to play, pups!
We sure had a great time!
What fun to have friends over to play!
We always love finding new friends.
