Last Saturday, I had a super fun mommy and me shopping and outdoor day. Not only did we work on Christmas shopping at local stores, we found some fun murals, and I also found an absolutely awful inflatable I have so show you all!
My sisters have been to Brainerd and seen Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Since I am not big on traveling, finding a mural of them was a jackpot. Now I have my own photo with these two Minnesota icons!
We also visited the “You Betcha” mural outside the same Sota Clothing store. If you know anything about Minnesota, you know they love to say, “you betcha”.
After some shopping and photos, I got to go to one of the dog parks we like because it is big with lots of room to walk around. Mom was being slow, so I was turned around checking to make sure she was still coming along.
I found this stump to pose with. They have done a lot of tree work at this park, this is what is left of one of the trees I guess.
It is rather sad with all the dead brown everywhere. We need snow around here, but the forecast doesn’t look good for snow in the near future. At least it is fairly cold. We don’t want warm weather anymore.
Mom was sad at the dog park. It wasn’t very busy, but most of the dogs at the park were fat, not overweight, really fat. Why humans let their dogs get so heavy we can’t understand, but it makes us sad.
Last but not least, this terrible inflatable we found! Do you see it behind me on the right? Oh my dog – how in the world did a squirrel get to pretend to be a Santa? These rotten critters have really gone to far now! It was all I could do to not rip down the inflatable. Someone has to stop the squirrels! Have a great weekend everyone!
My GBGV Life is joining Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard for their Nature Friday blog hop.
oh wow paul is a tall guy… but he sure was nice and it looks fantabulous how you posed with the two…
I decided to stand on the bench so I didn’t look quite so small with them.
Bailie, you look so happy! What a wonderful day you had.
I adore alone time with my mom, it is the very best.
Such wonderful photos and you sure hunted down some really fun murals!
Even Mom was surprised we found Paul and Babe.
Let’s see: (Politically old and incorrect, but: we thought “you betcha” came out of Alaska once upon a time …) Now, moving on: you do
look quite handsome amidst the browns of winter, however, if seeking snow you must go visit Molly. As for the truly ugly big blown up thing (none should be allowed anywhere of any kind) … talk to Chester L.W. Spaniel, he’s quite good at Evil Squirrel Cartel advice. In general, glad you enjoyed your walk-about and no more worries about what the rest of the world is up to. OK? OK!
My only real worry is squirrels trying to rule the world and being Santa is not nice. Otherwise, you betcha I had a real fun day π Hopefully the snow will come to us again soon.
Mommy and me days are very special. You looked like you were happy even without snow.
Well, my happiness doesn’t depend on snow, but playing in it would really be fun. The change in seasons makes life more interesting.
I am happy you had a Mommy and me day, Bailie! My mom thinks I may have put on a couple of pounds that need to go away, but why during the Christmas season? A squirrel inflatable? For Christmas? How rude! Have a wonderful weekend, XOXO, Sparkle
I hope that squirrel inflatable blows away! Such a naughty creature! Maybe you need to exercise more with your sister to burn off some calories if your mom says you have put on a few pounds??? We saw your mom is going to have surgery in a couple weeks. Hopefully it will go well and she will feel better.
I’m glad you got to go with mom to shop. It’s good to be with your peeps. I also enjoy you taking me for nice walks too. We love all things pups.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your siblings and your wonderful mom. β₯
I’m very well behaved, so I can go a lot of places. Madison is good too, but Olivia is more like a bull in a china shop, so her stores are limited, LOL! Happy Friday!
that sure looks like it was A LOT of fun!!
We both had a great day doing lots of fun things.
Hi Bailie! Looks like you had a fun day at least. you know, some people don’t believe in Santa Claus and think he is kind of squirrel -y. I bet one of those people started this nutty idea for an inflatable. I think they should sack it!
Chablis
I find it in such terrible taste. Just awful!
How lovely to have a special ‘mommy and me’ day. But I share your outrage about the squirrel pretending to be Santa. How dare he!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
I am sure he is on the naughty list after pulling that trick!
One thing I can say is YOU BETCHA you look adorable in your post…I tried not to look at the giant squirrel…
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. That squirrel is simply maddening!
What a wonderful Mama and you day Bailie! Beautiful murals…and the trail looks very peaceful, even without snow!
We had a real nice time. It would be nice to have some white instead of the dingy brown everywhere for a change.
Squirrel!!! Oh my gosh my brother would definitely tear that down!!! yikes!! This looks like it was a wonderful day!! Shopping and a great walk in the park. wahoo! have a great weekend . your friend Lilly
It was really fun with the exception of that squirrel!
It looks like it was a wonderful time.
As far as fat dogs, some of it may be that a lot of people have a warped idea of what a healthy weight on a dog looks like. The last time i took Coda with us to visit Grandma and her dog, Lulu (who is very overweight), Grandma was very upset saying that Coda is way to thin and is horribly underweight. The fact is, Coda just went to the vet about 2 months ago and is the perfect weight for her size. Grandma just does not have a good idea of what a healthy weight on a dog looks like, and i think a lot of people are in that same boat.
Squirrels are squirrely, but not really evil, by the way. They just donβt know what they want, but they want it now!
The squirrels do like to torment dogs. They stand near us, then run up a tree and yell at us. Makes us nuts. We feel that since so many humans are accepting humans being overweight, it is just transferring to dogs. Food is love, but it really isn’t if there is too much of it. Dogs can’t do a thing about it and it shortens our lives so much being heavy. Older people often lose a sense of a healthy weight on a pet, and that is understandable but so many “average” people with dogs who were shaped more like hogs is so sad to see. Coda looks great in your photos we have seen.
What a great walk! The dogs around our village are mostly in pretty good shape. So are the people. The village is quite small and peoples (and Dogs) walk everywhere. Not like when we lived in the big city!
A Santa Squirrel! That is sacrilege! What do you think of Santa Dogs? We have an inflatable Santa dog in front of our house. The first time he blew up, our hairy slobbery sister Cinnamon barked at him!
Purrs
Marv, Jo Jo, Kozmo, Cinnamon and Barb
Santa dogs, penquins, any creature, but not a squirrel! They torment us pups all the time and now to claim to be Santa, oh no. There is a giant Saint Bernard inflatable near us, probably 8-10 feet tall. He is nice π Glad your village is fit. We try to be as fit as can be around here too.
You look dwarfed next to Paul and Babe, Bailie! Squirrels should NEVER be Santa. That is just not right.
I can’t even imagine meeting Paul and Babe in real like my sisters did. The mural was a fun find, though. The squirrel was irritating.
Great pictures and it looks like such a fun day!
