After the blizzard on Wednesday into Thursday, it was beautiful outside. The temperatures were about fifty degrees less than the twenty four hours before, and the sun was shining bright. It’s rare to get a blizzard in the city/suburbs, but we had a doozy! It started with some rain, creating a layer of ice and then the heavy winds and snow pummeled the area for another ten to twelve hours. We were happy even if it was kind of a mess, we had a white Christmas!
Wednesday morning Mom and I went for our morning run at sixΒ and it was forty eight degrees. By afternoon, it was down to about ten. Christmas morning we had nine below, which means, time to get the shoes out to prevent paw freeze.
Mom and I took a nice walk in the woods on Christmas day. With the snow everywhere from the high wind, it was absolutely beautiful out. One thing we love about a good snowstorm is that after it clears, the sun comes out and we have a beautiful day.
The wind created deep snow, and in other areas, almost no snow. Putting my paws in fresh untouched snow is always fun. I didn’t even see any squirrel or other critter tracks in the beautiful snow.
In the woods, the paths were not plowed, but people had already been out and started trampling a path. It makes us feel more adventurous when there isn’t any asphalt showing.
The temperature was in the single digits, but it felt pretty warm, except if I had to sit down. Mom said it was okay for me to stand for most of my photos. It’s nice that she understands. Even my muzzle is all covered in snow and frost. I think it looks rather nice.
For my final photo, we found this sort of archway created by snow laden pine branches for me to sit under. It’s always fun to go out after the blizzard ends to see what beauty nature has for us. This year is was the Christmas gift of a white Christmas.

Your snow is just gorgeous!
Thank you. We love it no matter how it looks.
I so glad you had a white Christmas. We had a very wet Christmas.
That is no fun and really puts a damp er on things. Sorry for you.
WOW, that’s a lot of snow but I’m glad it warmed up for your out n’ about!
It has been cold but not too cold most of the time so we are out playing a lot.
Certainly the right word for today is AWWW … awesome scenery, awesomely beautiful, awesome photos. Reminding me of years
as a Michigander …
Mom lived outside Detroit years ago for about a year. She said the winter was gray and warm, not much snow, but I think up north there is a lot of snow.
Most beautiful. I do know you love the snow. It’s pretty, but I’d hurt myself in all that snow and ice.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the pups and a hug to the mom. β₯
Snow and winter isn’t for everyone, but we all do really love it and it was just in time for Christmas too.
Lovely pictures
Thank you.
We’re bummed! Every single storm has missed us so far! We barely have gotten any snow!
That is a real bummer. We are super thankful this last one moved so it hit us nicely. Hoping for some more tomorrow to freshen things up a bit.
Snow is pretty to look at and you look so happy to be in it and having your Mom to your self!!!
Yep, the snow was great as was the walk. It’s fun to explore in fresh snow.
You certainly had a white Christmas. I had a white Christmas 7 years ago. It is beautiful and fun to play in! XOXO, Sparkle
It can be so pretty and it is always fun to play in.
We’re jealous! We didn’t get any snow even though it was cold enough. But at least it didn’t rain.
We are happy it finally got cold and snowed. Hopefully it will stay cold now and we can get even more white stuff.
It’s so beautiful with the fresh snow and sunshine! I’m glad you had your boots on, it looks cold out there sweetie.
In the morning when it is below zero we need shoes so our paws don’t burn, but later on we can go bare paw again.
Wow! I love looking at your snow photos from the warmth of Texas! LOL!
We love looking at your warmth from our cold snow den π
Wow Bailie, what a beautiful post…you look so wonderful in the snow!!

What a beautiful day, i am glad you had fun.
It was two beautiful days over Christmas and then the sunshine went away, but we still have the snow π
Sunshine on the fresh snow is always so beautiful! We are now jealous of your snow….all of ours got washed away by Christmas rain. π
We are getting a fresh bunch right now, but then no more for a while. We take all we can get.
Snow is beautiful to watch coming down, and to romp in briefly, but then we want to go inside.
