Happy New Years Eve Day 2020! Last year on this day we were looking forward to the year of perfect vision, boy was that a huge flop! This year we are looking for a better year in 2021, but 2020 wasn’t all bad. My sisters and I are each taking a topic about something to be thankful for from 2020 and posting our thoughts below. Enjoy!
Bailie’s Family Celebration Plan
Bailie here, and I’m in charge of the New Years celebrations for our family. I’m sure it’s no surprise with me being the party hound! Party planning is my thing and I have a wowzer of a day planned for Mom and my sisters. The dog school we go to for barn hunt practices and where Madison goes to for nose work school is having a Barkin’ In The New Year party starting in the afternoon today. We are ones who like to be early in bed, so we won’t be staying until midnight, but we are entered in some fun activities during the day. All three of us will be doing some rat games with Mom, and Olivia and I are entered in a sniffing contest.
It will be super fun, and we will be home in time for dinner, a Bowser Beer or two, and then into bed early. For some that may seem boring, but we are all super excited! New Years morning we love to be up super early to go for a nice long walk in the new year, so it’s good we like to hit the feathers early.
Olivia’s 2020 Sports Update
I’m the biggest sports hound in the family so for me it is natural to be thankful for the sports we had in 2020. What I am not thankful for is our Vikings football team who really stink, but that is a whole different story. Yes, most of our sports were cancelled in March, April, and May, but we were back on the road in June!
Despite the mean virus, we took some fun road trips in 2020. We may not visit the big places like Los Angeles, or New York City, but we sure have fun visiting smaller towns within hours of our house. In February and September we traveled to Illinois. June, August, and September took us to North Dakota, and some small towns in Iowa. Northern Minnesota was the spot in July and October. We had fun on every trip!
2020 allowed Madison and I to try and fall in love with FastCAT, earning our BCAT titles on the same day. Bailie didn’t do a lot of sports this year, but she did earn a couple new titles when she did compete. Madison also earned scent work and nose work titles along with some legs toward her Barn Hunt Champion Title. I earned my first nose work titles, more scent work titles, and a barn hunt title. All in all, not bad for a pandemic year!
Madisonβs 2020 Blog Statistics
Ethos Intel Inside, that’s me, Madison is the tech hound of the family. My idea for today and being thankful for something in 2020 is our blog. I have some fun statistics, but keep in mind, today, New Years Eve Day 2020 is not counted in my numbers. We are in our tenth year of blogging, which is crazy amazing!

Thank you. We always love a good reason to have fun and celebrate.
Happy New Year’s Eve! You all are so pawsitive about 2020, and I like that. I am proud my little sister, Puffin, earned her CGC, and she can do some amazing tricks! Be safe and don’t drink too much Bowser Beer! XOXO, Sparkle
Mom says there is no point to a glass being half empty and positivity also contributes to good health, so we try hard to be as positive as we can. Sometimes one just can’t be that way, but most of the time we are.
You love blogging and we love that you blog – purrfect! Happy New Year to all.
This sounds like a perfect match up! Happy New Years Eve Day!
happy new years eve! We are also early to bed family! And the weather is crummy here — boohoo! We love the pictures in this post -Olivia running with that hat on! so cute! And we love the stats! Wow! Have a great day! see you next year (hahah!) your friends Lilly and Chester!
We just hope there aren’t too many fireworks at midnight. They will wake us up and we might be scared, you never know. Bummer you are having bad weather, that is no good. Have a nice New Years Eve Day anyway, and a much better 2021!
Have fun at your pawty and go easy on the beer, Bailie! Happy New Year’s Eve!
We love your posts and are grateful for them. We may need to check out that Bowser beer for dogs for our next celebration.
Thank you. It’s good stuff, and we like the name.
You guys make us laugh! Bowser Beer for Dogs! Who knew! Cinnamon thinks it would be tasty! We have the purrfect New Year’s Eve planned! We are going to have real deaded shrimp, popcorn, cuddle on the sofa under a heated blanket with Mom and watch cheesy movies!
On this New Year, I wish that you have a superb January, a dazzling February, a Peaceful March, an anxiety-free April, a sensational May, and joy that keeps going from June to November, and then round off with an upbeat December.Purrs

Awww, thank you so much. We always have joy in our life because Mom’s real name is Joy π We will all be tired from our sniffing afternoon, but will have dinner, Bowser Beer, and some frozen marrow bones. I nice evening with Mom. You all have a safe one, and we will catch you next year.
you all definitely know how to celebrate!! Love it!
It is the first time we doggies are going to a real New Years party. We think it will be fun for everyone!
Yes, there is much to be thankful for in 2020. Things that we tend to take for granted – a comfortable home, food to fuel our bodies, our health, two wonderful vets to help us care for Ducky, our own wonderful doctor, family, friends – both online and off – and countless more. But I’ll be glad to see this year gone so we can wipe the slate clean and start anew. Happy New Year’s Eve!!!!
Sounds like you have a fun day planned!!! Congrats on all your accomplishments…we know we love to check in on our favorite GBGVs everyday and we always leave with a smile!!
Happy New Year!
We are so happy to have all of you as good friends. We always look forward to your posts as well. Hopefully 2021 will be nicer to us all!
Lovely post with such great photos. Woof. Happy New Year
Timmy and Family
Thank you. Cheers to a much nicer year with 2021!
Bailie, your New years Eve party sounds dog gone fun! You girls manage to get your mom in to a lot of different sports and the party sound like a blast. Do give us an update tomorrow. We need to find some of that beer, a guy’s gotta have some sparkly every now and then. We also checked the nice link Madison provided to see the all time favorite blog. We need some NEW marrow bones! We are hoping to get some in person shows in this year after mom get’s her legs fixed in February. 2021 HERE WE COME!!!
Chablis
The sniffing and rat games were alright, not quite as fun as we thought they would be but Olivia stole the honors of finding the most hides of all in the family. It was fun to give it a try, but we will stick to our usual trials next year. Happy New Year!
Looks like you’re all ready to party. Your mom is the best to share you with the rest of us.
Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday and a very happy new year. My best to your mom. β₯
Thank you. We enjoyed trying some new games and doing something new on New Years Eve, but hopefully next year we will have real trials to go to instead. Happy New Year!
I didn’t know there was beer for dogs. π Happy New Year!
It has been around for a long time. You can find some online if you can’t find it in a store.
There is always a lot to celebrate, i hope you have fun and get to bed early if you want (after all, it’s probably midnight somewhere, no need to stay up ’til that time where you are!) and have a great early walk tomorrow. Happy New Year!
We have to wake up at midnight because people set off fireworks and that wakes us up, but then we go right back to sleep so we are well rested to start the new year.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too!
Happy New Year girls! Wishing you all a happy, healthy and fun filled 2021. I love reading your blog in the morning while having my coffee break. You three make me smile.
PS Iβve been a fan of the Vikings for 50 years and every year I keep saying next year theyβll make it to the Super Bowl (I hope)!
We too are the silly optimists with the Twins and the Vikings but we don’t have much luck. At this point, there is no point in even watching their last game, but we’ll be back with a load of hope in the fall! Happy New Year!
Ooh, good for you on earning the special titles from your competitions. You are amazing doggies. Bessie the Basset at my house has a really good sniffer, but she hasn’t competed in any events.
Mom started in 2014 just for fun but became addicted to sniffing sports in just weeks. We all love to sniff and get ribbons.
It sounds like your New Years Eve Day was a lot of fun! We hung close to the house with the boys. Bentley can’t hear low noises very well so most of the fireworks didn’t bother him. Of course, we gave him his CBD just to be safe. We are glad y’all had a good 2020 even with the virus. Ours really wasn’t so bad either although I hated our daughter had to cancel her visit and we couldn’t see my mom for her 90th birthday in New York City. Hopefully we can travel this year for her 91st!
2020 was not the year we wanted, but we have to be thankful that we got as much done as we did. Sad you couldn’t see your mom on her birthday. Gramma is afraid of being isolated, but we visit her every week when we are not in trials and she really likes that. Happy New Year!
Your photos are such smile makers. What wonderful times you all have. Happy New Year to you all and thank you for your visits. I love visiting here. I appreciate your kind heart. HUGS to you all
Awww, thank you so much. We love to be a fun and happy place for people to come.
